  1. Hi All, It's time for me to sell the D-250 I've had for the last 8 years. It’s useable as is, or would be a great project bundle for further restoration. I am selling a large package: the running tractor, a refurbished snowblower (48”), parts snowblower, mower deck (60”), tiller (40”), front plow blade (60”), Cat 0 3-Point Hitch with adjustable top link, WH 3-Point tool bar, wheel weights and tire chains. Also included is an extensive part collection, nearly a second tractor worth. I will include the original manuals, an original 1976 sales brochure, and repair manuals for the tractor and the engine. I made electronic copes of all of the above, and stored the paper copies to prevent further wear. This is one of the most complete D-250 tractor/attachment bundles I’ve seen. Some highlights from the available parts: Frame rails, extra engine, water pump, extra transaxle, extra gears, including worm gears (stored in oil bath), Front wheel set, carburetor, carb rebuild kit, rebuildable original radiator, extra radiator overflow bottle, rebuilt alternator, new voltage regulator (I was planning to change over to an alternator setup from the generator), new in package Renault engine seals, new PTO seals, ignition maintenance parts. There are also many panels, frame pieces, cables, levers, tubes (lines) and hardware in the collection. The tractor engine runs smooth. There are around 1050 original hours on it; It’s a 1976 edition. Everything works, except the dash lights and the rear lights (disconnected b/c of fender). I just haven't sorted out the wiring, but it is all there. Headlights are good and working, as are all of the gears and levers. The four tires are nearly new Carlisle Multi Trac, with nubs still on them. The rear tires have been filled (ballasted) with Rim Guard for extra traction. The hydraulic pump, front PTO clutch and brakes operate but could use a tune up. I’ve used it for mowing and snowblowing on hills, driveway and around my land. I don’t have an original WH seat. The snowblower was rebuilt a few years back, and assembled with all new hardware and bearings. The mower deck gearbox was professionally serviced recently, and has a new set of blades with only a half dozen mows. The rear fender needs a repair, but all pieces are available. The plow and tiller are due for restoration. The Points, Condenser and rotor have all been replaced and tuned in. The battery is good. I've rebuilt the carb, replaced the fuel pump and changed out the plugs within the last 30 hours. The replacement radiator is from a Kawasaki engine; it was installed with new hoses. There are also new custom hydraulic hoses and a new hydraulic lift cylinder. Here's a video of me mowing, this past summer. Transporting this haul in one trip will require a pickup truck and a large trailer.
  2. New used fork from ebay shifter assembly with spring and bearings. Tomorrow I will upload a picture of a tool we made to reinstall the fork keeping spring and ball in place.

    Bolt Size

D-250 Cant find the right size Bolt and Thread ! Please help , I've lost most of my Hair !
  4. Ok. Getting the equipment ready for garden work. I have the D-250 in for its service. I was looking at the front tires. I really hate those factory "Implement/golf cart" tires it has. They are 18X8.50-8's. I would like some tri-ribs on the front. But, it seems none are available. I do not want the Deestone 4 ribs either. So? here is the question. What will fit? Is there a size I can use on these factory rims? Any help help is appreciated. Pat

    New to red square

Hi all, I am new to red square, but have had wheel horse tractors for about 20 years. I am trying to find information about the Gutbrod built wheel horse D-250, and other models built by Gutbrod for wheel horse. I am currently looking for a Gutbrod 2600 DA, which is basically a D-250 in 4 wheel drive with a diesel engine. I have researched almost all the Japanese companies from the early 70's - 90's that built for Simplicity, Allis Chalmers, and Ford etc. I have not found much info on Gutbrod, other than wheel horse had them build the D-250 and that Gutbrod was a German vehicle Mfg. Any help would be appreciated, thanks, wheeliedude.
  6. Ok, so recently I picked up a 1978 D-250 (81-20RG01) and mechanically it looks really solid. Cosmetically it's a mess but that's no big deal. The problem is the wiring looks like a rats nest! Things spliced all over, and nothing electrical works properly. (Most not at all) When I bought it I thought, No big deal, I'll pick up a wiring harness and see where I stand from there. Here's the problem...I can't find a part number for the wiring harness anywhere! When I do a parts lookup all I see is individual wires listed. Please don't tell me that out of all the wiring harness' I see for sale everywhere (only listed by part #'s) that one doesn't exist for the 250? Am I missing something here? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  7. I contacted Terry (Vinylguy) from "Redoyourhorse" about having decals made for the Dashboard & Console on my 1978 D-250. He said he needs some good photos of the original decals, but mine are still mounted on the tractor. My question to you all is, do any of you have a dashboard and console in your parts stash to get pictures of? I appreciate any help you could provide.
