If you get into straits and you have thread-cutting ability, you could consider making one.
From my extremely limited knowledge of steel specs, I’d use something like Multipurpose 4140 Alloy Steel rod from McMaster and put Nyock nuts at both ends (or thread locker and double-nut on one end)

Note: threaded rod will chew up the mounting tabs on the S/G and engine--smooth rod will maintain proper alignment without wear.
