I think you have the model of the tractor wrong. Looks to be a 10hp or 12hp motor which would make it a 310-8 or a 312-8. Good luck with the sale!

Yes it's a 310-8. Nice catch by the awesome cognoscenti of this group. Makes me even sadder to have to part with it, been happy to be a part of this world of sophisticated owners.

If the overall length is an uncommon size, say 8-3/4", it is far easier to get a 10" boly and diecut the threads back to the required length. @Handy Don is correct - the run of the bolt thru the brackets should be smooth - all thread is not a permanent choice due to vibration.

If you get into straits and you have thread-cutting ability, you could consider making one. From my extremely limited knowledge of steel specs, I’d use something like Multipurpose 4140 Alloy Steel rod from McMaster and put Nyock nuts at both ends (or thread locker and double-nut on one end) (@ri702bill?) Note: threaded rod will chew up the mounting tabs on the S/G and engine--smooth rod will maintain proper alignment without wear.
