Hey guys. I had an account here about 2 years ago but I kinda fell off the face of the earth for a while. I’m back now (with a new account because lord knows I can’t remember my passwords) and I figured I’d show you guys my latest project. I can’t remember if I ever showed yall this tractor way back when but I bought this 68 raider 10 a couple years ago, sold it, and bought it back in pieces a couple months ago. I have started doing a basic restoration on it over the last few weeks. It’s been repowered with a kohler command 12.5.

I had to wait 2 months but finally the driveway melted off and it was just below freezing this morning so it is nice and hard. Got the GT1600 out and drove it around the driveway for a while. It drives nice and straight and runs well. The briggs definitely sounds different than the Onan's I am used to but it does run smooth. It started right up after sitting for 2 months so the china carb and fuel pump assembly seems to work well. Other than a possible front wheel upgrade to 8" I am calling this one complete. Time to start on the next one.

I've have been working on the barn a bit just nothing picture worthy until now. Got all the beams cleaned off, nails removed, and leveled out. Next moved the stack of 2x10's I had in the next section of barn, to be able to take the floor up. And no they are not nailed down and yes I am going to stagger them. With the lumber out of the way I was able to take this last "wall" out

Woke up at 4AM and headed South. Ate lunch at the worlds biggest tourist trap. Rolled into Myrtle Beach SC at 4PM.

next I’m going to paint the wheels. I know they are supposed to be a sort of off white but I’m thinking silver like the later models would look pretty sharp. Also what do you guys think on this seat? It’s not the most eye catching thing but it sure is pretty comfortable.

I had this issue once Turned out on mine that mud daubers packed the vent hole for the float bowl full. With no place for the air to disperse, the fuel pump forced the gas out through the main jet into the throat of the carb.

Worked MORE on the sandblaster. After partial disassembly yesterday and partial seam sealing with construction adhesive, I reassembled today (with more construction adhesive. Then, I covered all of the seams from the exterior with reinforced HVAC tape. Knurled thumb nuts for the glass, protective plastic sheets for the glass, and better led lighting arrive tomorrow. The foot pedal & blast handle arrived today, so tomorrow I hope to finish with it if time permits.

@Red Horse Lance was a local friend here in NC, and I'm ashamed to say I didn't even know of his passing in January. His son called me today about a couple Wheel Horses he had. Lance had been a member since 2008, and though he didn't post much he was very knowledgeable about these little red tractors. Lance was a great man, and a friend to everyone who knew him. It was a privilege to know him!

One of the pine trees in my side yard finally gave up. It was time to take it down before the Hostas started coming up underneath it. The C-81 was chosen to help. Dead pine trees are NO fun, only ended up getting poked in the ear, unscathed otherwise. The didn't seem to mind though... Last summer... Yesterday, almost hit 70 degrees, warmest day yet this year, perfect day for yard work.

Went out after work with the boy and we sent the model rocket up a few times.

Well I was debating putting the tractor in the bed of the truck, or taking the trailer so trailer it is haha.

Update! Picked up a new set of coils, slapped em in, cleaned everything up all pretty, and shes charging GREAT- in fact, better than she ever has! Full charge by about 1/3 throttle, where I used to need to buzz her right up to get much of anything. I did find a 'bare' spot in the charge coil showing it MAY have been contacting the case, although testing did not show a short to case. Really appreciate all the help fellas! Had NO IDEA the two coils actually performed different functions. P.S.- getting those coils and mounts drawn up to clear the armature- wooooo- no joke! Spend an hour with a pair of 3/8 fine thread bolts, stack of washers, a hammer and big punch, and worked on my 'vocabulary' a bit

This might not be a Coleman, but a Melvin made it…. Last summer I gave a pallet of wood to the local wood shop teacher to use in his class. It’s the same wood I gave @formariz a couple years back, and it’s thermally modified to resist moisture and rot. Apparently it’s very tough to glue up, but the shop teacher made a handful of these “emergency flashlights”. They were simple and cheap to produce.

I got two dump trailer loads of hardwood yesterday, along with a delivered load of logs from their wood chip truck! I’ll cut up what’s in the way probably today. I’m glad to have this resource, and a jump start on next year as well!

Today, in the 50 degree day we had I primed and painted a new hood for my 312. I still need to paint the black. Then I cleaned up and touched up my spare Magnum 12 before accidentally dropping it bringing it back into my basement, and breaking an ear off the mounting bracket 🤬. BUT my father has a welder and years of experience so hopefully it can be put back on. I’d rather have the ear break off than it land on me though.

Had to get a new drive pulley for the transmission. There's just no chance of cleaning the original up to a serviceable condition. It clearly rubbed the guard alot and corroded from there. The outer lip is jagged and just too pitted to work with. The replacement isn't a perfect match but will work fine.

Replaced the throttle and choke cables on the 79 C-101 it’s now officially a C121 Gen start. To do list -front tires ,tie rods, steering wheel seat, and decal set.
