@Sparky C’mon Mike you know that even for us that are still working every day is tractor picture day. Because if you were at work and someone said “Hey, check out this Wheel Horse!” You would stop what you were doing and look 👀😂😂 I know I would! Hell we all would!

@SylvanLakeWH Here’s some pictures of my buddy seat that you asked about. As I said in another post it’s actually quite simple. Loosen the bolts on the fender pan, the bracket is slotted so you just slide it in and tighten up the bolts and that’s it! Probably could have taken pictures of the underside, but you get the idea. It’s made out of 1/4” thick aluminum.

Always found the history and the engineering of tractors/machinery kind of interesting. A number of years back at some of the tractor/engine show in the area I vaguely remember hearing about 'Wain Roy'. Turns out that Wain Roy invented the backhoe in Hubbardston, ma in 1947. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xZOD1yOfys just looking to share info and to appreciate another old finn in making advancements in machinery/equipment.

I’m an Eagle Scout. And was a leader many position over the years with my 3 sons. My dad was an Eagle Scout and my 3 sons are also Eagles. So we have 3 generations of Eagle Scouts.

Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts to the Life rank, just short of Eagle when the girl bug got me. I should have continued. Order of the Arrow and then to Explorers.

I'm fast approaching 60, that's the age at which I no longer have to pay for my prescription medications! Yay. I don't get to be a Twirly for another five years though. That's getting my bus pass for free travel. The free rides are only available from 10am so that workers can get on the bus instead of degenerate pensioners. If you try to get on before 10 am the driver will look at your pass and say "You're Twirly!" If you ask what they mean they patiently explain you can't ride before 10am, so you're two early....Twirly.

I'm an Eagle Scout. Troop 14, Waverly NY, 1986. I've never been able to confirm it for certain, but I might be part of a BSA record! I've always heard that my Scout Master, Clayton "Clayt" Salsberry, had more Eagle Scouts under his troop leadership than any Scout Master in BSA history, and that I was his 106th, and last, Eagle Scout. Clayt was the Waverly NY Scout Master from the 1940's through 80's. Scot

On February 8 we celebrate National Boy Scout Day to honor those who are trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. Founded in 1910, by American W.D. Boyce, the Boy Scouts of America has helped shape many of our nation’s leaders. According to legend, Boyce was lost on a foggy street in London when an unknown Scout helped him by guiding him back to his hotel. When the boy refused a tip, explaining that he was only doing his duty as a Scout, Boyce was inspired to bring the teachings of the British Boy Scout Association back to the U.S. Some of our greatest national icons have been part of the Boy Scouts of America. Martin Luther King and John F. Kennedy were Boy Scouts. Steven Spielberg and Neil Armstrong were both Eagle Scouts. Michael Jordan was a Cub Scout and Jimmy Buffett was Life Scout. In total, 5 United States presidents and 180 U.S. astronauts have been involved in Scouting programs.

I was a Cub Scout and Weblos. Later, when my boys were in scouts, my wife and I were Den and Pack leaders for Cub Scouts and I went on to be Assistant Scout Leader in the various Boy Scout troups they were involved in. Became a member of White Horse Lodge in Ky. along the way. Was also an Assistant Leader in an Explorer troup for a while after they grew up. My oldest son is an Eagle Scout and my youngest made it to 1st class. Scouting really wasn't a passion for our youngest son.

I was a Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and Explorer. Lots of life lessons learned during that 10 year period.

Hi everyone! I've been following this page for years, and have belonged to the Facebook group for many, but I finally decided to join the forum today. I currently have 2 machines. A 1997 312-8 that my grandfather purchased new, and a 1998 312-8 that I bought off a friend of mine a year or so ago. The 98 has been retrofitted with a recently rebuilt Kohler Magnum 16, and it's quite a beast! Pics below of both.

I do have an Amish butcher that makes what I call hot dog sandwich bologna . A 10 lb 4" dia. roll that he slices and vac pacs. He also cures my hinds for chipped deer . What we made at a friends shop today is a sweet bologna..more for snackin than for sandwiches. I actually grind my own burger. I like to grind in a pound of bacon to five poiund of deer. We fried a skillet of the sausage this morning and it was really good. I may have to buy a tag for doe sausage next year.

My brother and I are both Boy Scouts, Weblos. We are both Eagle scouts with Order of the Arrow. We went to Philmont Scout Ranch for 2 weeks in 1965...climbed the Tooth of Time. I still have all the badges, patches, neckerchiefs and slides for the scarfs. I also have the God and Country Arward. When my house got robbed, one of the things they got was my Eagle ring. I'd like to replace that ring.

Many, many great memories from Scouting, but some of the most enduring are as a leader, especially on two Summit Base Treks with my son. Early on Monday, the summer camp staff transported our small group with gear, supplies, and canoes to a put-in on an Adirondack Lake. We were on our own until being picked up several lakes, carries, and streams away late Friday afternoon. We followed both the BSA and the Outward Bound guidelines for safety during minimal impact camping--quite the challenge for several of the boys but a terrific learning and bonding experience.

Had to replace the water pump and seals in my 04 Silverado. Seals on the backside started leaking. Decided to replace the pump too. After 21 years it did it's job. New ACDelco Professional one installed.

An engine will start without a carb on it at all just by spraying fuel into it. So if you can't get it to start with just a spray into it and no fuel in the carb at all, then the issue is most likely ignition assuming the compression is good. No fuel in the carb and a spray eliminates flooding as a non start cause and spraying carb cleaner eliminates bad gas as a cause. A bad condenser will show a weak spark and no start or not running above idle. Some of them just wouldn't ever get to a nice snappie blue spark no matter what, but still ran good. Older K90s and some K91s are very temperamental when it comes to the points gap setting. .020 is not always the best setting. I've had some that will spark with the plug out and sitting on top but then no spark when it's installed and under compression. VERY frustrating and solved through adjusting the points gap. Closer to .018 might be a good place to begin.

Well I sold it this morning. New owner was happy to have it. I told him all that I knew about it. He has a plow for it and plans on plowing his driveway with it. He said his dad had one years ago. On to the next.

I was one too, both Cub Scouts and Webelos. I still have a plaque for getting all possible awards as a Webelos.

Yep. Me too.... sort of. Cub Scouts and Webelos. Never went to the Boy Scouts because I moved to a different town. Petersham Massachusetts. My mom was a Den Mother along with several other local women.

My mother and another lady down the road became Cub Scout Leaders somewhat out of necessity. There were about a dozen of us boys within a mile ages 5 to 10 and we were too far from town to join a pack in town. Virtually every parent on the road did their part guiding us through our merit badges. Since most of us were farmers and had chores to do we chose to become a 4-H club after a couple of years. This allowed the parents the latitude to hold 4-H projects on days when we couldn't get out in the fields. My brother became a Boy Scout leader when he was about 50, there was a troop that was being abandoned by its leader and his co-worker friend had two boys in the troop. They both continued as leaders well after his friend's boys became adults. Three of the young men who attended my brother's memorial service had been members of that troop.

Well, I went and got a paint stripper wheel for a grinder and put on a mask opened up the garage and windows in the garage plus the side door in the garage, and had a fan moving air. And then I got the top of the hood done and realized this thing worked great…..the breathing situation….not so much sooo I went and talked to my parents and we decided to wet sand and it looks ok in my opinion I don’t really know what I’m doing but hey,I’m trying, anyways that’s the update here’s some pictures for yall.

We went to the gym again this morning. I checked the scaled weight of only my hands while in push-up position. 185 or so. I've read that I should be able to bench press about 70%-90% of that number. After warming up I did a couple reps at 145 lbs. Nearly 80%. Could've done more but don't wanna push too hard yet. I'm pretty happy with that. When we got home BBT started in working on the new mama living space. I went out to the new workshop. Got a little organizing done and moved things around some more. I don't have the energy to keep going all day so I went and rested a bit. Trina kept at the basement. When I could move around again I helped her move a bifold door to the bottom of the stairs. A few minutes ago we were watching a Barred owl in the larger area out back. Now to wait for the snowstorm tonight. Forecast is 5"-6"...

It's normal for a 60 year old tractor. Always thought it got that way from pulling one's self on the tractor, putting weight on it and bending the spokes It's a real pain to try and get the center cap right and stay. All my tractors are like that. Yes large diameter two spokers being the worst. Guess the only thing I can think of is put it in an oven & heat it up to try and get the plastic somewhat pliable. Temp would have to be just right and right pressure on the rim/spokes. Best to practice on a scrap wheel. Never tried it always too chicken$hit but in resto work where's there a will there's a way.

I was one and also got a car and girl bug, only made Life My family were always involved in Scouting. Dad was scoutmaster and our family summer vacation was summer camp. He was later Ranger at Several BSA Camps and we lived on site. Interesting, to say the least. I was Den Leader, Cub Master and Scout master/assistant for my son's troop. He made Eagle. Lots of great memories!

We didn't have a Troop in the small mountain town where I grew up, but we were scouting the mountains every day. After moving to the flatlands in 1963, finding Mrs. K and having two sons, We got involved in our church sponsored troop. Mrs. K is a Girl Scout and served as den mother for our sons at St. Johns UCC Troop 35. Later I served as treasurer, paper drive organizer, camping and canoe transporter and merit badge mentor. We spent many weeks backpacking the Appalachian Trail and canoeing the Susquehanna River. Mike made Life and Mark made Eagle. Unforgettable Times

In no particular order: Beach Boys a couple of times Harry Chapin several times Gordon Lightfoot Canadian Brass Heart Moody Blues E. Power Biggs Peter Pual and Mary - but Mary was sick, so it was only Peter and Pual Statler Brothers Tony Orlando and Dawn with the Smuthers Brothers as an opening act - really went to that one to see the Smuthers Brothers. Celtic Thunder several times - my wife and I are in one of their videos for a few frames as the camera swept the audience. Larry the Cable Guy Rolling Stones - sort of, we were working a consession stand as a fundraiser for a church youth group at the Michigan State University football stadium. I was a counselor for the youth group. Was easy to get the kid's parents to volunteer for that event. My oldest sister saw the Dave Clark 5.

I see JCBs on our side too but they aren't anymore as common as Cat, Case or John Deere. Maybe even less so, but not to say they aren't good machines, I personally have never ran one but in my occupation its not often I do. Larger mini excavators with runner tracks are becoming more common vs a rubber tired hoe.

Update is that I got my starter and got it installed. I wasn't able to get it started but it truns over, has great compression so now I acan work on getting plug for the ket swicth wired in, The new swich has it being deliverd tomorrow....

Does it have a fuel pump or gravity feed ? Sounds like it's getting to much gas try starting it with gas shut off .dry out the wet plug first. If it runs it's your needle/seat.

Spent the morning fooling around with the Bolens. Soaked the rear hub with penetrating oil and freed up the "Controlled Differential". It spins freely now. Can't figure out why there is no return when stepping on brake pedal. Then again, who needs brakes anyhow. Just noticed the front tires and wheels don't match but not a big deal. All 4 tires hold air. If I still have it in the spring time I will change drive belts. Hard for me to work on it now in the snow and cold in my driveway. Next I will tighten the hub all the way to engage both wheels and see if it makes any difference when driving and or pushing it around. Still for 50 bucks I'm not complaining.
