10 pointsFirst and foremost I have to thank @Handy Don and @Bill D And say it was great to see Don & meet Bill. The BBT and I took a nice road trip this weekend. Saturday was spent mostly on the road with two primary stops. One was to pick up all the stuff. The other was to visit my mom and help her out with some chores. Here's a few pics of what we got...

8 pointsA while back @WHX?? & I made a road trip to trade with @Chrishar. I traded him my 753 for his 633. He did an excellent job with the 753, now it's time for me to tackle the 633. The engine runs good, but I will still pull the head to take a look inside. Tranny shifts good and does not seem to leak. The 3/4" bar for the foot rests will need to be replaced, but so far it looks like it will mainly be a paint over haul. Picture of ground zero. A couple of hours later I had it broken down to a pile of parts and a bucket of bolts. Will do my best to keep you all up to date on this journey.

7 pointsMade it go out in the cold and plow snow for the first time in my possession! The “revived” BD-4263 blade did just fine although I can see that I’ll definitely want to remove the slop in the pivot quadrant come springtime. The weight of one “large tall” operator plus the chains was plenty adequate and there was no lack of oomph to push aside 6” of dense (but not wet) snow. 0D2A13BB-E6FA-46E2-B042-88430FE52C27.heic

6 pointsWe’ve had over 11” of snow here within the past week or so. I pushed out around 16 neighbors driveways for extra seat time. Normally use the 520-H which is easy and fun to drive. I had to switch out my ag tires this year to a set of turf tires with chains and weights. I keep this set ready every year and glad I had them for this year. 4 points@702854boy Did any of the 647 answers above narrow down your question? Here on our acreage Trina and I started out with a B80 for me back in late 2016. Soon after she got a 657. From then it was a fast rolling downhill snowball effect. At this point she has 5 tractors, I have at least 9 (I honestly don't know) and we share one. The Wally Digger Backhoe. Addiction? Nehhh.....

4 pointsSeconded. Here in Maine we have tried every combination of Tire with and without chain and with and without fluid that you could imagine. Best case scenario is a Turf Tire with a good chain. If you have asphalt or concrete that you don't want to scratch, use rubber cross section chains.

3 pointsI never watch a complete add on YouTube but this one got my attention. I thought it would be of interest to you guys and gals who have need of a part that is no longer made or a good idea for a new part that would sell. It's called SendCutSend. They can take your CAD drawing and make the part. If you don't do CAD they can convert your hand sketch to a CAD for a fee. Do a search on YouTube to see if it impresses and sounds like something you could use. Besides metal they do plastics, composits, and wood also.

3 pointsTrina's Military Tribute Tractor "Millie" got called up for active duty today. Her 867 Pigpen has been "acting out" for a while. We know the engine's tired and the carb/governor linkage is maladjusted. Like me. So she popped the new to us chains from the recent road trip on (thanks @Handy Don) and swapped the snow plow and bracket to Millie. Bam!! Back to plowing! Here's some 🐻 in ❄️ pics too.

3 pointsI just wanted to see what the temperature is in my unheated cab, during my 2 hour snow blowing it averaged 38 degrees. Should have used my usual tee shirt and coat, but I added a flannel shirt and was actually warmer than I wanted to be. I have a plow with a thick UHMW scraper and I doubt that it will do much to the base layer of ice, so I might put the steel only blade on another tractor and try that after lunch.

3 pointsAt 135, you are definitely getting flue gas condensation inside the pipe. I suspect you have too much stove for the area you are heating and hence have to throttle it down.

3 pointsExactly. Same gears -- 1-2-3-R and Hi-Lo with exactly the same ratios as the 8-speeds. Six came from marketing six forward speeds vs. the until-then-standard three forward speeds. Six speeds all had Limited Slip Differentials with either aluminum or steel end caps. Most had no dipstick. All had the brake drum on the “mushroom” gear shaft (as did the earlier 3-speeds) vs. on the cluster gear shaft of the 8-speeds. The switch on the brake drum shaft had two implications: 1) the drum rotates in the opposite direction, and 2) it rotates faster on the 8-speeds vs. the 3- and 6-speed transaxles.

2 pointsPo-boys gotta work ya know, I only get to be a "weekend warrior wrench". Sides with temps reaching a high of 1f today & dipping to -18f tonight it don't really pay to heat the shop up for a couple hours. Sit back, relax, munch on some meat & cheese, there will be up dates this weekend.

2 pointsThe radius of the 23" nominal size tire is only 1/2" taller than the 22". If you have more than 1-1/4" clearance, you should be fine. Not all tires are true to the size on the sidewall - Deestones run much smaller....

2 pointsYour lifter was on the ACR Lever. That's why it was higher than the intake lifter. You need to adj the gap with it off of that lever

2 pointsIt's been many years (decades) since I've even removed that 'oil fill' plug. Like Eric said, it's not really useful (I usually say worthless). Assuming you have a manual go with 1.5 qt. in the 3 and 4 speeds, 2 qt in the 6 and 8 speeds. There's been other recommendations over the years that are probably fine but I keep it simple. The nozzles on the gear lube I use work well. If I'm in a hurry a few squeezes speed things up. If it's torn down to this extent the seat bolt hole holds it fine. Or the filler tube. I find that there's plenty of air seepage around the shifter without removing it. Hydros are a different beast and that's where some of the tricks do well.

2 points@stevasaurus can explain it better than me. Basically it's a marketing issue from back in the day but also they were actually different. The brake drum was attached to a different point. Gear ratios are identical though.
