I really wanted something bigger for moving my boat around and more comfortable at plow days. This popped up on fb in a WH group. I grabbed it up. Just purrs but dies after about 30 min of running. Most likely the coil is giving up. I will deal with that once warmer weather arrives. A worker cosmetic refresh is in order once spring arrives. Seeing if Terry can come up with a special Austim Awareness variation to the standard WH Automatic 18 decal set. Give it a tiny bit of flair, maybe puzzle pieces in the red background or lets see what he comes up with. Definatly a beast, my first time driving one of the big Horses. She has the 3pt and rear pto on it. Looking forward to refreshing her a bit.

The perfect time for a cup of tea is National Hot Tea Day, on January 12. Tea has been in our cups since as far back as the 2nd century B.C. Originating in China, tea has grown to become the second most consumed beverage in the world, after water. This delicious blend of spices energizes, detoxifies, relaxes, and does so much more.

So if you’re finished, then I’m going to tell you the same thing Cecil Pond told me when he signed the C-121 Automatic that I had just restored. He said “It didn’t look this good when it left the factory!” I couldn’t get the smile off my face for days!

Seat time plowing both Thursday and Saturday. Two snowfalls like we have not seen for several winters back to back. More suppose to happen this evening. cleaned off a couple neighbors drives that need to have ability to get their cars out. IMG_5012.mov

Here in Missouri I got quite a bit of seat time yesterday and today. We got 4” of snow and sleet and then another 2” of snow two later. I got our driveway cleared after the sleet and snow and again after the 2” of snow. Today I went out and cleared the two neighbors driveway, cleared the street in front of their mailboxes, and to allow parking on the street. The snow on the street was about as deep as the height of the blade. It was 33 degrees out today so the snow was starting to soften up a bit, but the 520H worked beautifully. I don’t use any weights or chains. I switched over to golf cart tires about 3 years ago and really like them. Plenty of traction and not any marks from chains on the neighbors driveways. Made some piles about 3 feet high and 8-10 feet long.

Our first snow has provided me opportunity to work on train. I decided I wanted a wood covered bridge so I got it installed this afternoon. Most of the buildings on my set are depicted as being dilapidated and in need of repair. The covered bridge is still under construction. Here's how the creek and iron bridge are coming along.

I too have lights, heat, wipers and a strobe light. I live on a dirt road that about four cars a day go down. I have the strobe light strictly for the cool factor. Unlike @Ed Kennell mine is not illegal 🤣 because mine is amber not red 😂😂

Just found a 520 AUTOMATIC with a ss blower and a warm cab that even a big sleepy bear would find comfortable.

The original mufflers aimed straight down however they were capped. and the nipple between the muffler and the cap had holes drilled in it. I used some B&S mufflers on my D aimed straight down... it left a few dead spots on the grass so i put nipples and caps on it with a bunch of 1/4" holes drilled in the outer third of the nipple just like the original. I don't like stacks blowing exhaust at face level.

Today’s plowing session was about a 1/2 hr/45 min of seat time with no issues. I have the blade floating a bit and it never caught anything. The next project is fixing the rattling of the plow and the rod that engages the pin that locks the pivot.

Yeah, that had me nervous. A bad time for a foot to slip off the clutch pedal.

I think so. Taking it out for a drive will be the test. Some day I might upgrade to 8" front wheels.

Okay @cleat so would you say it’s officially finished?
  26. 3 points
Maybe, but if more people voted with their feet, and made it clear to their officials why they are leaving and going elsewhere, the people enacting these policies might start thinking harder about what they are doing, especially as their tax base starts to shrink.

Is that chunk of rail about 50lbs. ? What happens when the blade trips? I have 50 on the front wheels to improve steering but non on the blade.

Who wants to guess what these are? Keep the responses PG please... Today I was going to mount my new Deestones on my 520 wheels. Apparently the PO used slime in one wheel, and it was a terrible mess. The slime had been in there long enough to harden, and those little balls were all in the tire. I found no damage to the wheel, and no rust. That being said the tire had begun to delaminate inside. Other than some checking outside, it was ok. Not sure if the slime broke down the tire or not, but it certainly looked that way. Took a while to clean that wheel up, but those Deestones are the hardest tire to mount up I've ever attempted. I finally gave up and will take them to a tire shop. I've mounted more tires than I can remember, and these were horrible. Maybe it's the cooler temps combined with thicker ply, but it simply would not go on the wheel.

It wasn't much, maybe 3" but it was the first chance for me to attack it with the reborn 76 B-80 that is now designated the year round blade tractor. I plowed this then came in for a bite to eat. I was waiting for the county to do the road. Even though it was still below freezing the sun hits that asphalt and melts/dries things up quickly. After I ate.

The weather forecasters finally got it right for NE Indiana. Not a ton of snow, but 4" or so made for a great learning experience - first time using my C-120 to plow

Jacked up back of tractor so a rear wheel can spin free. Started engine and let it warm up. Verified charge voltage at 14.5 with lights on or off. Idle speed is 1200 and full throttle is 3330 RPM so that is good for now. Set motion control eccentric cam sot rear wheel is stationary with foot control in it's automatic self centering position. Did final bolting of motion control rod as it's length is perfect. Set height of foot control pedal by verifying that at full reverse the pedal is just touching the foot rest by adjusting the rod end, Rod end set and locked into position on the foot control. If we get a thaw sometime and there is some driveway showing then I will take it out for a cruise around.

Has anyone encountered this before, and is there a solution? I bent the left hand side rear foot support rod. It is bent just outside the frame member, and is approx 3" low on the end of the rod side. Pics attached. I jacked up the tractor using that bar support just to see if that started any movement. It did not. I am guessing the only solution is by welding? I do not have immediate access to any welding equipment. Appreciate any advice

I managed to make the hinge bolts and nuts in steel. A bit more of a faffing than in soft brass. But it's worth it to improve on the kit. I cross drilled the bolt at 1mm to take a split pin. Talk about miniature work. I'm also building up the front wings and firewall as a unit so I can attach it to the chassis when it has been painted. It's about working out how to do the build so that I can paint the bodyshell without too much masking of the chassis.

I agree on them being a fire hazard being pointed straight down. Not my doing. I will point them 90' sideways and slightly angled forward when I get some shop time. To cold right now to mess in my shop much. Gonna be brutal cold in Indiana the next couple days. Hibernation weather! I will use a couple black iron 90' short elbows then a short piece of nipple to make them. I can tack weld them with my mig welder so they dont move or unscrew. I have some chrome sink drain pipe I might be able to sleeve over the nipple and hose clamp it to make it look a bit more dressed up.

My lovely wife makes both peanut brittle. And toffee for the holidays. Her sister makes killer caramel chews too. Since we are cleaning up our act (according to her)? None for me now.

I need to get a couple 90' elbows to turn out the exhaust on each muffler, right now it blows straight down which will really stir up dust at the Portland swap meet or anywhere else I ride around that is dusty. She has the replacement mufflers with just a piece of threaded pipe sticking straight down. She is very quiet so want to keep this set up. If all the pipes were not solid rust, I would reroute and turn them into stacks with chrome turnouts. But I think it will stay like they are. Wish I could find a nice stubby chrome pipe to put on each side, like a turndown, Not much out there in this small of a pipe that is chrome though.

I drink nearly a gallon of tea each day. Decaffeinated and cold. I make it pretty weak though in the scale of things. I don’t add sugar, sweetener, or lemon. Generally it’s just grocery store teabags, but occasionally I’ll mix with something more interesting. I’ve never been able to understand drinking any beverage hot. Coffee, tea, cocoa…gotta be cold. my wife’s grandmother was English and when home was always sipping a little metal cup of tea. She took hers with milk - which i think she added last - which to me made it totally unpalatable. Of course because she knew something about how tea was done properly, she wasn’t a fan of my method. 😎 Steve

I live in Pa. about 50 miles North of Baltimore, Md. Thirty plus years ago an area near me was developed . Driving through the Chanceford Crossing development you couldn't help but notice that many of the cars had Md license plates and still do today. The development was renamed Little Baltimore by the locals. Sorry, were again.

Tea is definitely our national drink here in England. Just having my third or fourth cup of the day. The kettle never goes cold from morning till night. There is a whole debate over here about whether you are a MIL or a MIF.... milk in last or milk in first. History tells us that milk was put in first by posh folks (tea was out of reach of most people for many years) who were using fine China cups. They thought the hot tea going into a cold cup would fracture it, so the milk went in first to lessen the thermal shock. But I prefer to put the milk in last so that you can see how strong it will be. Also, if you put your teabag in the cup to brew then putting milk in with it stops the bag from mashing properly. On strength, we have builders tea, which is so strong and brewed that you can stand your trowel up in it lol. We now have decaff tea, but buy it from a door to door sales company who've been in business for a couple of centuries. Good quality is worth paying a bit more for. So, enjoy your coffee or Joe or whatever you call it. I will stuck with a good old cuppa and a couple of biccies.

The coil is reproduced now. Easilly found all over ebay. Only the OEM coil is hard to find and usually over $100 bucks. I will give one of the reproduced coils a shot, they are cheap. I wont be mowing with her, at least for now. I do want to find a complete mower deck and tiller for it eventually. Right now, just a Brinly cat 0 moldboard plow is on the wish list.

Nice grab! Looks pretty good from the pics. Rear PTO and 3 point hitch is a cool feature for sure! My friend is slowly working on a D200. It’s been fun to help and learn on these things. Looking forward to your progress!

I doubt it. The Eaton hydro uses different bearings for the carrier. I see a reddish color on the teeth of the bull gear. Did that 8-speed have ATF in it?

I figure this tractor now deserves a proper key. There is no key fob because it would hang right in front of the fuel gauge.

With a 4 ' pipe , you should be able to easily cold bend that bar with 50lbs of force.

A pipe over the end for leverage and some heat at the bend.
