11 pointsI really wanted something bigger for moving my boat around and more comfortable at plow days. This popped up on fb in a WH group. I grabbed it up. Just purrs but dies after about 30 min of running. Most likely the coil is giving up. I will deal with that once warmer weather arrives. A worker cosmetic refresh is in order once spring arrives. Seeing if Terry can come up with a special Austim Awareness variation to the standard WH Automatic 18 decal set. Give it a tiny bit of flair, maybe puzzle pieces in the red background or lets see what he comes up with. Definatly a beast, my first time driving one of the big Horses. She has the 3pt and rear pto on it. Looking forward to refreshing her a bit.

7 pointsThe perfect time for a cup of tea is National Hot Tea Day, on January 12. Tea has been in our cups since as far back as the 2nd century B.C. Originating in China, tea has grown to become the second most consumed beverage in the world, after water. This delicious blend of spices energizes, detoxifies, relaxes, and does so much more.

4 pointsSo if you’re finished, then I’m going to tell you the same thing Cecil Pond told me when he signed the C-121 Automatic that I had just restored. He said “It didn’t look this good when it left the factory!” I couldn’t get the smile off my face for days!

4 pointsSeat time plowing both Thursday and Saturday. Two snowfalls like we have not seen for several winters back to back. More suppose to happen this evening. cleaned off a couple neighbors drives that need to have ability to get their cars out. IMG_5012.mov

4 pointsHere in Missouri I got quite a bit of seat time yesterday and today. We got 4” of snow and sleet and then another 2” of snow two later. I got our driveway cleared after the sleet and snow and again after the 2” of snow. Today I went out and cleared the two neighbors driveway, cleared the street in front of their mailboxes, and to allow parking on the street. The snow on the street was about as deep as the height of the blade. It was 33 degrees out today so the snow was starting to soften up a bit, but the 520H worked beautifully. I don’t use any weights or chains. I switched over to golf cart tires about 3 years ago and really like them. Plenty of traction and not any marks from chains on the neighbors driveways. Made some piles about 3 feet high and 8-10 feet long.

4 pointsOur first snow has provided me opportunity to work on train. I decided I wanted a wood covered bridge so I got it installed this afternoon. Most of the buildings on my set are depicted as being dilapidated and in need of repair. The covered bridge is still under construction. Here's how the creek and iron bridge are coming along.

3 pointsI too have lights, heat, wipers and a strobe light. I live on a dirt road that about four cars a day go down. I have the strobe light strictly for the cool factor. Unlike @Ed Kennell mine is not illegal 🤣 because mine is amber not red 😂😂

3 pointsJust found a 520 AUTOMATIC with a ss blower and a warm cab that even a big sleepy bear would find comfortable.

3 pointsThe original mufflers aimed straight down however they were capped. and the nipple between the muffler and the cap had holes drilled in it. I used some B&S mufflers on my D aimed straight down... it left a few dead spots on the grass so i put nipples and caps on it with a bunch of 1/4" holes drilled in the outer third of the nipple just like the original. I don't like stacks blowing exhaust at face level.

3 pointsToday’s plowing session was about a 1/2 hr/45 min of seat time with no issues. I have the blade floating a bit and it never caught anything. The next project is fixing the rattling of the plow and the rod that engages the pin that locks the pivot.

3 pointsNice video production! I can see why you installed the blinky lights, your traffic appears to be even worse than mine.
-
3 pointsI think so. Taking it out for a drive will be the test. Some day I might upgrade to 8" front wheels.

3 pointsOkay @cleat so would you say it’s officially finished?
-
3 pointsMaybe, but if more people voted with their feet, and made it clear to their officials why they are leaving and going elsewhere, the people enacting these policies might start thinking harder about what they are doing, especially as their tax base starts to shrink.
-
3 pointsIs that chunk of rail about 50lbs. ? What happens when the blade trips? I have 50 on the front wheels to improve steering but non on the blade.
-
3 pointsWho wants to guess what these are? Keep the responses PG please... Today I was going to mount my new Deestones on my 520 wheels. Apparently the PO used slime in one wheel, and it was a terrible mess. The slime had been in there long enough to harden, and those little balls were all in the tire. I found no damage to the wheel, and no rust. That being said the tire had begun to delaminate inside. Other than some checking outside, it was ok. Not sure if the slime broke down the tire or not, but it certainly looked that way. Took a while to clean that wheel up, but those Deestones are the hardest tire to mount up I've ever attempted. I finally gave up and will take them to a tire shop. I've mounted more tires than I can remember, and these were horrible. Maybe it's the cooler temps combined with thicker ply, but it simply would not go on the wheel.

3 pointsIt wasn't much, maybe 3" but it was the first chance for me to attack it with the reborn 76 B-80 that is now designated the year round blade tractor. I plowed this then came in for a bite to eat. I was waiting for the county to do the road. Even though it was still below freezing the sun hits that asphalt and melts/dries things up quickly. After I ate.

3 pointsThe weather forecasters finally got it right for NE Indiana. Not a ton of snow, but 4" or so made for a great learning experience - first time using my C-120 to plow
-
3 pointsJacked up back of tractor so a rear wheel can spin free. Started engine and let it warm up. Verified charge voltage at 14.5 with lights on or off. Idle speed is 1200 and full throttle is 3330 RPM so that is good for now. Set motion control eccentric cam sot rear wheel is stationary with foot control in it's automatic self centering position. Did final bolting of motion control rod as it's length is perfect. Set height of foot control pedal by verifying that at full reverse the pedal is just touching the foot rest by adjusting the rod end, Rod end set and locked into position on the foot control. If we get a thaw sometime and there is some driveway showing then I will take it out for a cruise around.

2 pointsDon all ready fined me for my illegal RED flasher. Mine is mounted to my rear weight rack and wired to the tail lights.
-
2 pointsLiked the video, but with that much traffic going by, and at speed, I’d want to be a LOT more visible than the blinking front and rear lights. Adding a pole with a rotating amber beacon just like the big guys would be good. Maybe a hi-vis vest, as well.

2 pointsTractor pulling with a 70 horsepower Kohler twin (souped up and dynoed). The red you see is Red Line heavy shockproof oil. It's a gear oil that is better than 80w 90. Here is the 520H that I was looking at on EBay. I've been pulling this tractor for 8 years now this is the first time the transaxle has broke.

2 pointsI did the exact same thing using the snow blade to smooth out some dirt this fall... Bend the rod and broke by chain off the rear tire... trying the Galvanized pipe method so I can get back to snow plowing

2 pointsThe coil is reproduced now. Easilly found all over ebay. Only the OEM coil is hard to find and usually over $100 bucks. I will give one of the reproduced coils a shot, they are cheap. I wont be mowing with her, at least for now. I do want to find a complete mower deck and tiller for it eventually. Right now, just a Brinly cat 0 moldboard plow is on the wish list.

2 pointsI doubt it. The Eaton hydro uses different bearings for the carrier. I see a reddish color on the teeth of the bull gear. Did that 8-speed have ATF in it?

2 pointsI figure this tractor now deserves a proper key. There is no key fob because it would hang right in front of the fuel gauge.

2 pointshaha, love all the commentary and suggestions. As suggested by Ed Kennell I cold bent it back in place. I used an old galvanized 6' fence post, slid it over the bent rod, and just applied force incrementally and it straightened out very nicely. No mother-in-law needed, fortunately, as she was busy 'helping' with other projects. As to the question 'what happened?' ... the chain on the rear tire apparently loosened, and as I was going up a steep asphalt hill, the chain lodged into the back of the foot platform and just drove the support rod down. Made quite the noise, took me a few seconds to realize what was happening. Thanks again for the suggestions and the jokes.
