Today is National Chocolate Candy Day! I have been working hard in preparation for this national celebration. Since Christmas morning I have eaten nearly a full pound of wonderful chocolate candy, the wife got a few but not too many. Join in the celebration and gorge yourself on these delectable delights, it is your patriotic duty to do so on this National Chocolate Candy Day.

One year ago Friday was when I got my cancer diagnosis. I have been back to work for about a week and a half and still waiting for the results of my blood work. I'm getting better every day and regaining my strength and weight. I had got down to 138 lbs and now I am at 155 lbs. I still have a ways to go but slow and steady wins the race.

My son and his family came to visit for a few days. I had to work a few hours on Friday. When I came home I found my grandsons hauling banana trees they had cut down while I was at work. The pile you see has about a pickup load under it in a stump hole. They had also cleaned the shop gutters, raked and hauled leaves from around the shop and unloaded some pipe from my little trailer that I haven't been able to do.

Took the C175 for a few laps around the driveway. Still haven’t put the weights, chains or blade on. Hoping it will entice a little snow at some point.

My 1054 that sat in a building for 20 years or so untouched. Got it running and moving then I cleaned off primer, buffed it and then oiled up the paint to preserve it. It does great pulling the trailer and the grand kids love it.

875 bought as a parts machine. It had a blown engine. Steering gear stripped, steering wheel busted. Decided to repair it. @squonk picked up an engine for me at the Big Show.

The 417A was an hour from me. It was cheap!! 11xx hrs, and it runs mint! It came with a two stage snowblower and 48” deck. The snowblower had a grease zerk in each of the gearboxes (good!). The mower had a tiny bit of rust holes (just two finger size holes), quiet towers and 2 front wooden wheels! The tractor tin was in good shape, the headlight bezel was the only thing missing and the seat ripped! The ex owner was a millwright, and he took good care of it. He kept it greased! What I want to know is what type of grease to use in the front and back of the snowblower? Just corn head grease? I’m so glad I got it!!

Thanks. It wasn't 100% a squirrel moment. The wife's Fusion needs rockers. I've been debating getting them fixed vs just replacing the car, partly because it's so hard to find a body shop around here that will still do rust repairs. And she has been asking to get something that sits a little higher. On the way to Lowes we passed a local used lot that had an Escape that was newer than her car, but more miles. I don't care about high miles, but I don't do body work. Underside looked clean, rockers were solid, so nothing can be wrong with it that I can't fix, and we had to money in the bank to pay cash.

I have this friend who doses the house anytime a streak of bad luck comes along. But that person is part indigenous, so there’s no cultural appropriation involved. I don’t do it - I wouldn’t want to be.a cultural appropriator. Well, that and the fact most people would think you’re bonkers waving around a clump of burning sage to drive away evil spirits. But who knows? Maybe it works. I’ll give it a try and send an update sometime after April 15th!

Steering wheel and tube ready to install. Thanks again to Eric (ebinmaine) for the steering shaft and tube or this step would not be possible. Steering tube installed and shaft coated with never-seize where steering wheel mounts. Steering tube flat and wave washers installed and a very thin coat of grease applied to wave washer. Steering wheel slid onto shaft and locating pin installed. Roll pin coated with never-seize then partly driven in while locating pin holds wheel in proper alignment. Steering wheel and center cap installed.

@rmaynard went to a pre op surgery technician led informational stage 3 week prior to surgery , about 35 people in the class , all going to have , hip, knee, shoulder , spine operations coming up , hefty information pack , walked thru , all stages , questions , answers . thought the info was very good thorough , emphasized any question concerning you , there was a # to call , or contact . another part of it was the emphasis of thorough therapy , just the idea of not doing what you are saposed to do , to settle in and correctly move initial joint placement , is asking for trouble . and then of course blaming the dr for your problems . it takes personal interest / effort , say mine was about 2 weeks , of related discomfort , then started getting , signs of relief , been on that mindset ever since . also helped that my wife told me , she would kick my ass , if I didn't follow thru ! imagine that , pete

the hip therapy , has been very effective , spot on for foundational function . tracking , therapists are very sharp on any issue , and regularly , get you on an eyes closed , balance / muscle function , balance bar set up, guaranteed to expose more . they also liked my nap after any related walking movement , response . usually walk a vacant parking lot , that makes for a safe place to walk , when I started doing that , my almost immediate feeling was sleep , so thats a regular thing for me , nap is a knock out , body response is telling you that , also doing a lot of stair climbing , told me I was weeks ahead of regular , work , staying at it , pete

Service manual for Magnum Twins shows .035 as to parts ...some are available I rebuilt an M-18. Costs a lot as some parts are hard to find especially if you need over under and also at one point Kohler changed the valve angle. Tear down and reassembly is way different from Kohler singles (and used adhesives instead of gaskets)... Combined with extra machine shop cost (two of everything) $$$$ Before you plunge in I would be sure you knew what all parts you needed and make sure you can find them. I love my Kohler Twins KT17 ( I have 3) and the Mag 18 but I will never again rebuild one...

Kohler manual should show 0.035 for Battery ignition and 0.025 for Magneto ignition systems. This chart is for single cylinder engines but holds true for twins as well.

My truck has those. I love it, except when I need defrost. The mode door cam sticks at that end. I worked on an Escape a few years back with those that was getting a false activation intermittently. After goofing around with it for a while I figured out it only did it with the lights on. From there I found the customer had replaced the halogen fog light bulbs with LEDs that had a heat sycn and fan. The one fan was noisy and was triggering the sensor, because they are sonar, not radar.
