10 pointsThe Dino C-121 need rear tires so I've had my eyes open for a pair already mounted. The stock rims have a 1-3/16" offset. Apparently that's a bit of an oddball because all I've been finding have a larger offset and seemingly wouldn't clear the fuel tank. I decided that if I found a good set I would just get some spacers if needed. I had seen this set a while back and contacted the guy but declined when he told me the offset was 2-1/4". Since I decided to get spacers I contacted him again and he still had them. An hour and a half to Dyer and they were mine. Carlisle 23-10.50's and as nice a set as you'll find short of new. I test fit one on my 2005 (should be identical) to verify the spacer thickness and got a nice surprise. They cleared without spacers! I wouldn't be able to use chains with them but that's not the game plan right now.

8 pointsHello, Can anyone give me an approximate value for my 1986 308-8 Red Head? It runs and cuts perfectly, no issues. Always stored indoors. Thanks and have great day!
-
8 pointsI have he same Carlisle 23x1050x12 new what came on my Raider. I cleaned up and painted the wheel and put them on the 1985 312-8 when I got it.

7 pointsBusy weekend of replacing all the bearings and pulley's on the snowblower. Luckily I haven't needed it yet. Just waiting on the drive pulley to be delivered. Also scored a set of cast iron wheel weights about a month ago 30 minutes west of me. Got them installed on the 418-8.
-
7 pointsI picked up a pair (same size rims) in an auction lot. I thought they'd be nice in the spring when I'm hauling mulch around on softer ground. I'll for sure need spacers before I can mount them on my C-120A

5 pointsI did some research on the web. It has a tag on it that says Roto Cutter by Roto Hoe and Sprayer Company. I nabbed a brochure off the web. Here's a screenshot.

5 pointsI pulled and covered the choke cable with a protective sheath of thick walled heat shrink tubing. Thanks to Bill D for this suggestion. I added a couple of layers of heat shrink where cable rubs the hood stand for protection. Also installed a better nut and a star washer also suggested by Bill D. A piece of smaller thin walled heat shrink used to help seal the open end of the cable.

4 pointsTrina tore apart the mini counter that was beside the stove dividing the kitchen and dining area. It's now wide open there and she has an extra prep spot. The shoe rack is what's left of the lower shelving, reassembled.

4 pointsGoodness, if that’s in original condition it’s amazing! Value for a 40 year old lawnmower is highly subjective. Your typical neighbor might say $100. To the most enthusiastic collector it could be twelve times that. if you listed it for sale at $500 it would probably sell quickly, especially in the spring. A buyer will never offer you more than you’re asking so there’s no reason to aim too low. It’s a nice looking machine. I like the big tractor/little engine format so that one speaks to me. Good luck, Steve

4 pointsMr.Richard, I hope you find this meaningful. I relate most life experiences with a song. This was on the radio about the time I quit my “working for the man” job and began homeschooling my girls and working out of the shop. The song is great, but the old man’s commentary part of this video really makes it. It’s kind of like your story of climbing the scaffolding. Lots of love there. Bravo to you, Mrs. 953 Nut, and your generation!

4 pointsAmazing really to think of using one of those with pesticides or herbicides... Makes me think: NOS Blitz Fogger attire available. Found in closets of long-dead WH Blitz Fogger owners everywhere who didn't use them...

4 pointsFinished the shed wiring project…finished the conduit run into the house, pulled the wire thru the underground conduit, wired up a bunch of outlets and a couple switches, hardwired and installed a new LED 8’ fixture…and finally got all the horses hooked up to life support!

3 pointsMe, being a Navy guy...I wish to give my congratulations to Navy for their win today. On the other side, I wish to offer my congratulations to Army and their excillant season. Nothing but class was displayed during this game. Like was said...the only flag that would be raised in center field...the Star Spangled Banner.

3 pointsThat is the lever I had to use on my312H. I use the middle hole to bolt on a small clamp to guide the wire that pulls the sector pin. Not sure why the top hole would be missing. May be full of paint.

3 pointsWhy are you looking to sell such a nice machine ? 308-8 was my very first Wheel Horse. I too had the all red grill. Shortly after I bought the 308 I picked up 3 others. More tractors then room. You can only have 1 first, 308-8 was mine.

3 pointsI was able to repair the transmission problem on my 1986, Model 308-8, Wheel Horse with a $0.69, 5/32 x 1" tension spring (roll pin) from my local Hardware Store. The tractor is now drive able and all 8 gears can be selected on the Wheel Horse tractor Ater removing the gear shifter, donut, broken tension spring and set screw, the only thing needed was a new tension spring or roll pin. A 1/8'" diameter roll tension was too small. It wouldn't secure the donut snuggly to the sifter rod. Initially, I thought a new set screw was needed, but after cleaning, it looked great, so it was reinstalled. I did order one, which is expected it any day. Below are three pictures you may find of interest. 1409 - shifter with donut and 5/32" tension spring 1412 - the original broken tension spring and the set screw 1414 - the shifter rod with the donut held in place with the 5/32" tension spring I really appreciate all the feedback and suggestions on how to repair my Tractor. Hopefully my experience can help another member. These are great machines. John Crestwood, KY

3 pointsI always enjoy the Army/Navy game. I believe that unsportsmanlike flag was thrown because it appeared differently to one of them that what it really was. I was hoping the refs would pow wow and pull back the flag.

3 pointsHowd you know I was gonna look in the jungle.?!?! When the power outlet is connected as a outlet the pins are reversed for use with a tender with the same two prong plug that many have. I connected one to tend the battery on the camper. Not thinkin and forgot it was a innie NOT an outie at a show I plugged the 12v camp smoker in ... and promptly burned out the buck & a quarter control module that was not polarity protected. Next show @Achto made me check it first and told me I should have just plugged it in a horse cigar lighter!

3 pointsK341's are getting hard to find and they're a beast - I wouldn't think twice opening it up and if could be repaired .....done I love hearing mine bark when I'm in long grass with the 48" deck - the big box store beer cans the neighbors mow with the 416 is not ....lol

3 pointsWell that’s a bummer. I agree on at least opening it up to see and know what happened and how salvageable it might be. If it’s too bad to save you can save it for a parts engine. I got lucky on a k241 that had a busted rod and the rod did knick the cylinder wall but it was near the bottom and not in the ring travel section. New rod, piston and rings to match the size it had and a cylinder hone and it’s been fine.
-
3 pointsNormally I would say it did't happen if there are no pics but we hate to see busted rods and ventilated blocks. I would say at least tear it down and see what or how it happened. Get an idea of work/cost to build it anyway. Maybe fix it ... sweet sixteens just don't fall out of the sky anymore. Not one he's supposed to have for me i hope?

3 pointsWished I could get mine to work better. I think it needs a special muffler so the tank doesn't get pressurized by the back pressure. I plead the fifth ... Well Squonky finally got something right ...

3 pointsStarted taking my dad's old Bultaco apart preparing for a light restoration. It hasn't run in about 30yrs. He bought it new when he came home from Vietnam. Cleaned carb & it wasn't really too bad. My biggest challenge is going to be cleaning inside of fuel tank & sealing it. Years ago my dad tried to seal it with epoxy because the fuel was starting to blister paint finish. So now it's flaking off inside tank. Need to get it all broken loose so I can properly prep surface for tank sealer. I been shaking screws, bolts, & even a short section of chain to break the old epoxy loose. Having some success but at this rate it's going to be a long long process. I may have to resort to cutting out a couple sections of bottom of tank to gain access. Then fiberglass the part I cut out back in. Any suggestions????

3 pointsRemoved the SD deck last weekend. May try to get the weights, chains & 48'' dozer blade on the 418 this Winter.

3 pointsRunning tally: The machine: $0 Wrecker bill to haul it home: $100 Reconditioned battery: $70 Wrong points kit: $13 D14 spark plugs: $20 New coil: In stock subtotal: $203 The parts store has a cap and rotor and the correct points waiting for me. I’m sure a set of plug wires would do this well, and so would an oil change.
