12 pointsToday I put the decals on the 308. The decals definitely finished it off. It’s quite the transformation.

10 pointsMy wife says it has been over 1,040 days since we had any accumulation of snow here. She keeps up with such things… Sometimes this woman scares me. But we have less than one inch of snow in NC this morning. Crazy!

9 pointsIt’s all you guys fault! He’s a Snow and WheelHorse Junkie! 😂😂 There is maybe 1/2” and he ran outside to try out his plow. @TonyToro Jr. IMG_5062.MOV

8 pointsMy son go a used hot tub. So his brother and I got taped to help load it on the trailer. We disconnected my 4x8 trailer and had rolled it to the far side of their back patio. Everything went smoothly with quite a bit of grunting. My triple does no what to think about have something on it besides a tractor☺️ My wife (Nanny). Stayed home and I found her rocking our new 4 week old grandson when I got home. He’s #7, 5 boys and 2 girls ages newborn to 8.

7 pointsPlowing duty for the 654. Snow was heavy. More snow predicted Wednesday night thru Friday. That little tractor can really push snow. However, with my ongoing back issues I may need to consider a hydro, especially for the lift. I do like the smaller size of a short frame tractor & like the looks of a round hood. As I've said before (when I get more storage room- new shed) I still wanna go 520 w/2 stage for the heavy duty work. VID_20241203_152541.mp4

7 pointsHooked my newly acquired 48” plow to my c-121. Changed the plug and put chains on it. 2-4” forecasted for Wednesday into Thursday. We’ll see 🤞 F9814B34-E3EA-469B-9CDA-BA41430F878A.mov

6 pointsNot even a dusting of snow at my end of North Carolina but it is 18 degrees which is VERY cold for this time of year.

6 pointsGo to NAPA and get a couple of new headlight socket innards. Less than 4 bucks. Always jumper the hood hinge.

5 pointsThe lower rod should be 1/2" thick or more. I've successfully used a piece of straight rod that I threaded and attached heavy duty heim joints. Using heim joints takes ALL the looseness out of bit ends. The upper rod can be mechanics wire.

5 pointsStill, dirty tires and footrests mean it’s a worker earning its keep! Nice work

5 pointsIf it were up to me, I'd skip the tree...but it's not my call. Mrs. M loves the tree, and the four grandsons (now age 13 to 21) are stilling willing to decorate it. So I guess it's the same old routine. However, this year we again have a new cat. Haven't had one since 2016. This might be fun.

4 pointsIf you're talking about the screws on the bezel that's not really a good idea. Those are intended to hold the bezel on and do nothing for the poor hinge connection unless you run a ground from the housing to the frame which is....jumpering the hinge. Tighten them too much and the bezel will suffer. Properly installed the housing is held in place with two pop rivets. If I've removed them replace with steel rivets. Never a hood to housing ground issue. Countless times I've seen obvious issues with the hood hinge only as a ground. It's a lousy connection at best. Jumper it. There are gazillions of direct replacement bulbs out there. I purchased a package of ten of these for cheap and they work great. Goofy thing is, I haven't used the headlights for years.

4 pointsWhen you remove the shifter you will see a donut near the bottom of it. Some donuts are secured to the shifter by a roll pin. Others are welded. If the pin shears it allows to donut to pivot on the shaft so most of the shifter action is lost. The roll pin hole is shared with the shifter set screw that retains the shifter in the transmission. The donut must not spin on the shifter.

4 pointsGrandbabies are the main reason grandma decorates our house. Pam didn't decorate for a couple of years after our son died but when grandchildren came along, she seemed to enjoy watching them around the tree. Our family certainly doesn't want to forget why Christmas is such an important celebration and now our oldest grandchild reads about the birth of Jesus from the book of Luke in the Bible.
-
4 pointsI put the tree up Saturday. Then the herd of (7) grandkids were over Sunday and decorated it.

4 pointsI appreciate the suggestions as to what may be the issue with my Wheel Horse. From these suggestions, I have plenty of things to check. I was concerned that a fix would require a complete tear down of the transmission. A couple of comments: The tractor while old is kept in a garage on a small barn when not in use The boot for the shifter is in good condition and was replaced a few years back. (recommendation from a member) While I have not changed the oil in the transmission, it looks okay to me and is at the level of the fill plug The high / low shifter works fine. Much better than my 2005 tractor. The shifter in question is very loose or sloppy. If I keep the clutch depressed and wiggle the shifter rod with PATIENCE, I can get into the desired gear. Once in gear, all is good until the next shift. I don't shift on the fly. I think the first thing is for me to remove the boot and look inside the opening with a good light and inspect. From the comments, I suspect there will be a very loose screw, or it is missing. I will give more feedback after the inspection. Thanks, John Crestwood, KY

3 pointsThe rod is 32"and the wire is 26" on my 312H 48" plow. I keep mine in a warm garage.

3 pointsI have a 12x20 Shelter Logic brand. I had gable vents and they helped, but I still had condensation. The absolute best way to stop condensation is a vapor barrier on the floor. I put a tarp down to cover the entire floor and the condensation stopped. At first the tarp would move when I moved tractors around on it, but after a few months it hardly moves at all. Staking the out side edges of the tarp down well is a must. The only time I have the door open is when I'm moving tractors around.

3 pointseventually it stops. Or you can put a tarp or plastic down. my cheap HF 10x17 lasts 4-5 years

3 pointsI’m dragging in late. Mine is undecorated in the garage. Just got it yesterday, so it’s soaking up it’s first water and relaxing and hopefully shedding any hitch hikers. Will bring it in tonight and decorate.

3 pointsA slightly longer screw in one corner will allow a star washer and nut to secure a small ground wire. Then you don’t need a jumper for the hood. Or run LEDs and actually see in the dark. Couple different ideas in the thread below. LED thread

3 pointsOur kids had a 24x30 metal carport installed. The non English speaking installers got it up in a couple of hours. I laid treated 2x6's down so they could set the bottom runners up on the boards keeping the runners off of the ground. They drove rods (I'm guessing 24" long) through the runners and 2x6 to hold the carport in place. I can't see how the rods the fellows used could hold the carport but it's been there three or four years. Fortunately, they are surrounded by trees and don't catch much wind. I had a 12x28 carport given to me as a basket case. I installed it over a cement slab and then made brackets attaching it to my shop. I priced carports on local marketplace sales and they didn't seem to expensive and Menards sells carports but free was hard to beat. I had to purchase extension legs for my carport to get the height needed for camper.

3 pointsThis is going on the 308 tomorrow morning. The holiday season upon us at work. 😬 I’m taking it easy tonight.
-
2 points^ This - my D-way is a slight hill - going down is easy - getting back up without chains won't happen - I use double link V bar ice chains with weight - if the weather starts out above freezing and wet , then goes cold, the minute you push it and open up the wet - freezes turns to a sheet of ice - I keep bags of rock salt and ice melt here for after I'm done plowing/blowing .

2 pointsI bought a HF 10'x17' portable garages on black Friday. We got it mostly set up yesterday - frame assembled, cover on. Got back to the property this morning to anchor it down. When I opened the door, I noticed that the inside was damp with condensation. That worries me a bit. I've set it up over dirt, so I expect that is where the moisture is coming from. Hindsight being 20-20, I probably should have put a tarp down first to act as a ground cloth. That would probably be less than ideal for driving the 8N tractor in and out, though. Those of you that are using one of these or a similar structure, are you doing anything to control condensation? Build a floor? Add vents?
