So,Today I went on a little Road trip to the Des Moines area. Always a great excuse to visit my Cousin. There was a Cool fella near Indianola with some Chrome Red Head Stamped Hub Caps! We negotiated a decent price on the 7 of them. Yes, 7 I know I will need another 1 & I don't mind that... I am super happy to have these & Cyclops needs a bit o' bling anywho... I have Not seen a set of even 4 of these going for less than $250-$375..... I was Quite pleased with the deal. I also Scored a couple more Rimz n old tires (gonna replace the tires) I can just swap tires with chains for the nice turf tires I will soon have on my new to Moo-Wah C-145 Cyclops. The scAmazombie delivery dude showed up just as we were leaving to take Dad to church before I left town this Morning. Fuel Pumps arrived & I have a Question. What is that Snap ring for? (see picture as I have drawn a blue circle around it) I did Not need to remove 1 when I took the Broken fuel pump off.... So what is that for? Is it an internal part for the pump when ya rebuild it? Or does it apply to some other model Kohlers? What ? I am really stumped on that so if someone can answer the question, I would certainly appreciate that. A-Z Tractor is sending an entire new ignition kit as well so I thiMk Ol' Cyclops has a chance at being fully operational within days. D og inspected the new to Moo-Wah hub caps & approved but was certainly more interested in playing ball than Wheel Horse stuff ( see picture ) So, today was a pretty good day. Got to see my cousin & have some laughs. Scored some good stuff for the "Herd" at great prices even when i figure in the tank of fuel to do it. Did about 90 the whole way out & still got 14-15 mpg with my big ol' Chevy. That Chevy picture is NOT my Truck but I was impressed with it. the guy who sold me the rimz n tirez said that is the first vehicle he ever owned. Makes me wish I never sold My C-10 & several others.... Update; Today I received my Ignition parts & tomorrow is My day off so it's gonna be Wheel Horse day All day & here is another pic. Hopefully I am posting pics & possibly a video of Cyclops' "Resurection"

After my son Sean got his Jeep, he began to get little rubber ducks on his door handle. This is so awesome and just a great way to start the day when you find a duck on your door handle. Maybe we can get a Wheel Horse equivalent? Semi local guy, going around lower Westchester, NY ducking jeeps and having a blast. Best part, he has Veteran Ducks for the Vets out there!

So about a year ago, my midlife crisis hit,and I’ve started selling go fast toys for yard equipment. I knew nothing about DR mowers, Gravely, or Wheel Horse, and now I’ve got one of each. Woohoo. So the 1998 520xi is my entry into the red square world. It came with a single stage blower,60” deck, plow and tiller plus some other stuff. Fixing the smart steer was the first thing I did, but not the way I’ve seen others do it. Next up is hopefully getting the muffler ceramicoated to get the temps down. Hopefully I can add my experience to help others on here, as well as gain it.

I think it was time to do something about this leaking lift actuator! I have a spare that I rebuilt last spring, so it was a pretty easy swap. I guess some paint and step tread should be next, but this is one of my busiest tractors. WH Hyd Lift Actuator.mp4

Rebuilt the hydraulic lift valve for the second time today. Still have a small leak . At least it’s not as bad as the last attempt. May be time to see if someone has one to sale. Installed new LED head and tail lights. Going to give it a good workout with the leaf sweeper to ensure everything is okay before mounting the snow blade, weights and chains.

A big thanks to all the Vets on Red Square and beyond. My Dad, RIP, flew a B-17 in WW2.

That last photo would lead me to believe that you have a tubeless tire there. You can't see the hole that the stem should be going through.

Oldest grandson has driven their 312-8 and my C160 Auto before. But today was the first time he got to pull the trailer with his brother and sister. He was quite proud! Yes @Pullstart he's wearing flip flops and needs to keep his feet on the floor boards.

This year has been quite a memorable ! Picked up many of interesting Wheel Horse tractors and implements and parts . But never in my life time did I ever think I would ponder on this. I've seen pictures of it and a few of our very select fellow Horse Colleges own this. It all happen about a week and a half ago saw it on online classified it was there for a few days I emaied and they still had it. He said he woukd hold it for me. I made arangements on my day off to go pick it up. The night before I was to make the journey he calls said he got email from some one in Georgia said he will double the amount and Vinmo the money. He then asked me which part was i after since there was two thing for one price in the ad . He says that's what the other guy wants ! He then asked if i want it for that price since i was the first one. Just Vinmo him the money I said I wont since I've done that before and never got what i paid for. That kind of pissed me off told him I have cash at pick up. He apologized and said he will honor our deal and to make thing right he'd throw in some extra parts since his wife was after him to clean up. When I picked up the implements I asked how he acquired it. He said he got it with the his 60s charger he had bought . Then he asked how much is it worth i told him only what some ones willing to pay for it. He said it looks old. I Then told him how rare it is . So I think this is going to be the Crown on my 1955 Rj 35. Since it was made for it early on. Let me introduce Wheel horses first mower deck the RMR 3255 ? three blade deck. Before the gear deck. The belts look like it was hardly used for a 70 year old piece.

AND…. 400 miles has been achieved! Pedaled just over 17 miles today. The weather here is still warm so who knows, might squeeze in another ride or two, but if the bike ends up in my basement hanging from the ceiling I won’t be disappointed.

I have a brochure for 1983 Work Horse in very good condition. It came with the paperwork for the ‘88 310-8 I got a few months ago. By the sales slips the PO had traded the Work Horse in on the 310 at Beck’s Equipment just outside of Emmaus, PA. See pictures. If anyone collects this kind of history let me know and I’ll send it to you.

From my friends Kohler Command Pro on in his log splitter.....Uses regular gas.. Only a couple hours a year on the splitter. Bad news it is OHV so the stuck float dumped gas into the cylinder so now have to change oil also. Their is a station with ethanol free about 6 miles away a dollar more per gallon. Since it only burns a couple gallons a year save 2 bucks .... but carb kit is $18

I have a generator we bought from my wife's aunt after her uncle died, it's a Honda engine from the mid 90s and has that warning in the fine print of the operating instructions label.

A friend of mine saw a FB post of my tractor and offered up this snow blower for $50. I figured I couldn't go wrong at that price. Everything seems to be in working order after cleaning off some hardened grease, and I knew the history on it. Missing the side plates and the lift assist spring, if anyone has a lead.

Some of the cheaper ones are just a photovoltaic cell with no battery, so they operate a lot like a calculator.

I got about 20 or 25 minutes into my first hour of driving and the truck decided that coolant should be on the windshield and all up under the hood. Got back to the service location and got another truck. Continued my day. All good. I get paid by the hour and quite frankly I wasn't really looking forward to stuffing that truck into the place I knew it had to be. The second truck was much easier to use.

Yes, I like the idea of adding a scoop buck to an existing dozer blade. have the work is already done and making it open with a lever and rope keeps it simple.

I've been clocting pictures about various types of scoops. As you can see they have been adapeted to front plows and to rear sleeve and 3 point hitches. The "Scoop Tote" was manufactured and sold in the 70's i think. 867a0222dc4cdf3748a329075cb1d8c4-scoop-tote.pdf 867a0222dc4cdf3748a329075cb1d8c4-scoop-tote.pdf

Yes. Pump is the most likely culprit. Nearly impossible to flood the carb on that model to the point where it would fill the crankcase with fuel. That's most likely to occur on gravity fed equipment.

A caution on tubes that come from an "offshore" supplier. Be prepared to be disappointed. Regardless of its origin, I inflate the tube by itself at least 3 days before I plan to use it. Do not destroy the packaging - good chance you will need to return it..... The larger rear tires are not so bad to fish a tube into... the smaller 6" fronts are a true PITA.

If your pump diagram had a tiny pinhole that leaked a tiny drop every engine rotation, let’s say average 2400rpm. The fur pump moved every engine rotation so that would be 2400 tiny drops a minute. That would be 144,000 tiny drops in an hour run time.

Thanks guys. I’m cleaning them up today. I did locate some gears, but I’m saving some serviceable gears for anyone who may need them once I get this one back together.

The snap ring is used to allow you to move the in and out barbs to point in other directions......

For a light duty small scoop you could fabricate a scoop that attaches where the mule drive mounts as a pivot point. A sturdy rod (3/4" pipe) from the rock shaft running forward to the bottom rear of the bucket would tilt the bucket up to transport the load. That should accommodate a 100 pound load with no problem.

Was the video of a Wheel Horse 270 Model? I have never owned a 200 Series Wheel Horse but have serviced a few others makes by lifting the front end. The first thing you need to do is carefully examine where fluids would be when the unit is lifted. If the fuel filler and oil fill points would not be facing downward. and the engine cylinders and fuel components would be facing upward you should be OK. I would definitely remove the battery before raising the front up.

If the starter has bushings on each end they can often be improved by replacing them. They will wear oval which increases turning resistance.

The spring is available from A-Z Tractor, Wheelhorse Parts and More, and/or K&B. All vendors that can be found in the Classified drop down menu. I just got one last week from Lowell.

Speaking of exersize…logged in a few more miles on my bike today. Kinda cold temps but I’m determined to hit 400 miles this season. After today I’m at 383.1 miles. My plan to to try to crank out 17 miles tomorrow and then hang up my bike for the season.

Our 18 month old granddaughter and zI took a ride on the C160. We just idle around a little since I didn’t have any ear muffs for her. She loves to crawl up and sit on the tractor.

Wall: I'll have to see if I can find something to match up nicely. Cursory glance at McMaster shows 3/4 ID means 1 1/8 OD, I'll have to see what size hubs I can get or sweet talk my buddy up the road to use his little Logan lathe EB: I see what you're saying with stub axles now, seems like that'd be just as easy as sleeving my original spindles possibly stronger since there's one less part involved

Those do look nice but you should weld those Eric. I like the look of those hubs too

Counterweight is already in place. Considered casting some concrete wheel weights as well as the loaded and chained tires, or duals but that's a different can of worms. I did play around with the kind of bucket you mention as I've seen them on skid steers but for a light duty bucket I didn't want to get too far out there with the engineering for 100 some pounds lol
