Sorry for the messy garage! But I have now owned my 1977 Wheelhorse C-100 for 20 years! I got it when I was 13 years old for £300. I still remember clearly how excited I was, I live in the UK but I have always loved old American cars and 1960s and 1970s stuff, so when I got this it was the coolest thing ever. I have a ton of memories of driving it around, with a trailer on the back and my friends would take turns driving each other down to our shed/club house in the woods. It has been repainted but I always keep it rubbed down with an oily rag because I live on Dartmoor and it is super humid and wet here, especially in winter. Cheers all

While Richard Simmons was at work, I was sitting in my deer stand. I had a nosey doe 10 yards behind me (neighbor’s property and she is in Florida for the winter) but rules is rules. She had me pinned down, but could not find me. Momma got a $100 gift card as the company’s favorite costume!

FINALLY added wiring for trailer lights so mounting electric quick compressor with small tank for tire filling and air horn shenanigans. Used my long frame plow and adapted the thatcher. My yard has hard edges that I can't use the pull behind it was designed for so put it on the front

Hi there, wheelhorse lovers! :-) I am a new user from Belgium. This morning I acquired a 227-5 tractor with a running motor but with lots of work to do from electric system to mechanics, and from tires to painting to make it closer to its initial shape... It is my very first tractor, I know nothing about mechanics but I love learning new stuff! Some pictures from today over here : https://photos.app.goo.gl/tnjxLEikxUZUTBfT6 I will keep posted as I progress on working on it! First issue : find the exact model, parts and blueprints, as the model R217K503 is not listed on the Toro model search form. R217K502 is listed but not 503. Are there other people from Belgium over here? Cheers, Olivier

Changed the oil on my 875. Also greased and oiled the moving parts. It's ready to go to work. Of course I don't mind if I don't have to use it any time soon.

The basic principles apply, and the mechanicals don’t actually care what brand or color they are working with. Seems there’s a lesson to be learned there..

It's usually dark by the time I get a chance to clear my driveway, so I decided to upgrade my lights. I started with replacing the stock 1156 bulbs with some bright LEDs. Big improvement. I also had a set of vintage tractor lights I had picked up for free, and there were already hole in the hood from a previous owner. They mounted up nicely, but when I turned them on, they were noticeably yellow compared to the LEDs. So, I found some LED replacement bulbs and, VIOLA! Quite possible they'll be too bright if it's snowing!

The way to remove the pto is to thread a large bolt into the center - it will contact the end of the crankshaft and push it out of the pto. Some service bulletins

Already did! Voted early for the first time in my life. I tried to be a educated as possible on what we were voting on. I agree, "no matter your preference, please get out and vote"--I'd like to add "after taking time to study the candidates and the various topics that lie before us".

Trina and I worked on the road utility trailer much of the day. New coupler. New jack. All four new spring eyelet bushings. What a LOT of work and time. Should be nicer and more quiet going down the road now.

With all the parts I thought I would need in hand, I pulled the C-160’s fuel pump, slapped on a gasket and cover plate and proceeded to wire and plumb a Carbole electrificated do-me-good gas pump. While I did succeed in getting it to run briefly, this plan did not quite go according to plan. Ugh. While I was hoping to change the oil and get on with getting her ready for Winter, that didn’t happen. More on that later, perhaps with some details and pics so some of you fine folks can tell me where I fu@$&ed up.

Don't forget @Pullstart is has a dump truck project stashed on one of the upper shelves in his magic barn. @ebinmaine supposedly has a pile of parts, or maybe a rolling chassis of something that he said was going to be big. Hasn't been a recent progress report on either of these .

Here are a few pics of mine on a C121. Winch powered not hydraulic. Only 4 bolts and 1 pin attach it to the tractor, (along with the wiring), so I can transfer it to any of my other Wheelhorses!

Lets take a look at what needs to happen for your engine to crank over by turning the key. In the diagram below you will see shat components must work together to accomplish this. Do a visual inspection of these items to ensure that all wires are tight and connections are clean. First, check the engine oil level. If the oil is low the low oil switch will energize the "Switching Relay" preventing the solenoid from receiving its signal to close when the key is turned to start. Remove the 25 amp fuse and inspect it and the fuse holder, these are quite often corroded and need attention. When the solenoid was replaced did it have two small terminals on it? If so was one of them connected to ground? Depress the clutch all the way, doublecheck to be sure the PTO is in the off position, giggle the handle a bit while the key is in start. With the key off and the spark plug wire removed, take a small jumper wire from the large terminal battery side of your solenoid to the ungrounded small terminal of the solenoid, did the starter turn over? If the starter turned over from there move back to the switching relay (it is a metal box with wires connected) purple wire and then the light blue wire, did the starter turn over? The clutch switch is in the tunnel between you feet and a bit hard to reach so we will skip over it for the time being and move on to the PTO switch. Touch the jumper to the purple wire on the PTO switch and then the tan wire while the clutch is down, did the starter turn over? Let us know what you find.

Should be an easy filter to find. EBay, the jungle or most finer farm & barn stores. Try running the part no. on the old one. I don't have access to my numbers but others will be along.

They played a radio station through the ear phones while I lay in the tube. I didn't think about it till I got out, but the tunes were perhaps not the best for my situation..... SOS by ABBA, I get so emotional by Whitney, If you leave me now..... Any other songs that would seem inappropriate for medical procedures?

This morning I have been mostly lying in an MRI scanner at our local hospital. Raised PSA level in a routine blood test tipped me onto a pathway to investigation of the reasons. Interesting machine. I thought the big donut had a magnet whizzing round in it, but it turns out to just be a huge coil electromagnet. Apparently the hydrogen atoms in your body need to be lined up so they can take an image inside you. The magnet does that, but the whole things shakes you to sort things out into some sort of order. It's complicated physics but pretty cool. Waiting now for the doctors to look at the pictures and get back to me. Read on the interweb that a private MRI would have cost north of a grand. That would have definitely made me sick.

Hi Oliver. It is sold by Warco, a long established tool supplier in the UK. There are quite a few clones of this type of machine on the Internet. Not sure who made the original that was copied. Brierley is a name that is big in tool grinders over here, they sell a very similar looking machine at over three times the price. They also do industrial sharpeners that can do amazing things to drill points. I bought the warco because I won't be thrashing it every day, so it should last for me. There seem to be a few small differences in how drills are ground on each copy, but they are basically the same. I'm happy with the warco as it is quick to set up and use.

I actually meant my chiropractor. Earlier this year I thought I was potentially looking at a hip by 40. After a few months of seeing him today I chased pheasants all morning over what was probably about a 5 mile long track.

Agree with Richard. Another easy to get the belt to positively stop for gear changing is to add a belt brake tab as Wheel Horse did on the later models.
