9 pointsNot actually @stevasaurus but rather Harold's Garage, a former Sinclair Service Station, which was added to the National Reregister of Historic Places.

6 pointsJust starting on my first Wheel Horse, a 1976 C-120 Automatic. I need to do better with focusing on one thing at a time. Today... Picked up used mower deck for $25 for potential donor parts. Pleasantly surprised to find it had like new blades on it! Replaced air filter Changed engine oil Changed hydraulic oil and filter Replaced an incorrect ignition switch and replaced a bunch of incorrect wiring. Shocked to find that everything worked, including the ammeter! Reinstalled fuel tank and test started Discovered that the outer PTO bearing was shot. Ordered one from NAPA

5 pointsI believe this is called a two piece cultivator. Believe it’s off of a 1976 wheel horse if I remember correctly. Two of the cutting knives/tines (or whatever they’re called)have been shortened by the PO.

5 pointsSent the C-165-8 three hours North to enjoy a beautiful Maine Lake. Sold it to a friend and gave him the lowdown on what WheelHorse tractors are all about. By the look of his face I think we hooked another one. Included a 42'' SD mower as well. He already asked about a second one, yep, he's hooked. The 2 Peco baggers went to another RS member.

4 pointsMy Mother passed away mid August. She was 95 and had a good life. We were blessed she lived at home until her last 6 weeks. My brother and I are Executors of her Estate.. She had a Funeral Insurance Policy independent of the local funeral home. The funeral home had to have full payment up front, no waiting on any insurance. Wow are traditional funerals expensive. My wife and I have decide to be cremated and have a Celebration of Live when its our time to go. Cut out as much Funeral Home services / expenses as possible. She had two hospital stays and a short Nursing Home stay before passing. Multiple inhouse providers, ambulance transport, etc. So multiple bills. Thankfully she had some money in some CD's Investment's and Life Insurance. The good thing was she had set us up as Beneficiaries on these accounts, so we do not have to wait on "Probating her Estate", which takes time, to access them. The not so good, is all the company representative told us it takes time to process these Beneficiary claims. For us to have immediate access she would have had to make us Joint owners of the accounts. A few months ago she made us Joint owners of her checking account, so at least we had access to that money. But it has gone fast paying her house bills, 6 week Nursing Home bills, and hospital medical bills . So having money but not accessible to us for 60 or 90 days is a challenge. When you consider it will probable take 6-12 months to sell her house, the basic electric, gas, insurance and property tax bills keep coming. I feel like I'm a " Money Grabber as soon as she's in the ground" But it's really not for me! I've spent a lot of phone time and in person turning off her cell phone, house phone, cable TV etc. They all want a copy of her death certificate before they will talk to us. The Death Certificate took 5 weeks to receive, so that's another month of house bills. Medical Bills and Insurance The 2 hospitals didn't do a good job of passing her Insurance Information along to internal providers, or just passed her Medicare Supplement and not her actual Medicare account number. So I've been calling every company we receive a medical bill from to make sure they have BOTH Medicare and Supplement insurance information. One good thing about my calling is a few medical companies have told me to send them a copy of her Death Certificate and they will write off any expenses not paid by insurance. A big Thank You for that. Her Primary Care Clinic has a "Medicare Navigator" That individual has been extremely helpful through her hospital, nursing home and now final medical bills. Off the record, she indicate to not pay any medical bills for up to 90 days to let all insurances do their part first. Lessons Learned I'm really not complaining about taking care of her final expenses, but I want to share some of this process that we normally don't talk about. She had set up my brother and I up with a HIPPA, Medical and Financial Power of Attorney. But all of those are not applicable/go away at her Death. Find the persons Medicare Navigator and ask them lots of questions! Work with your loved one and their Financial Adviser to figure out how to make some money available for immediate expenses. Meet with their lawyer ASAP, to discuss how/when to Probate the Will, and advice on other final bills and processes. Share that she has passed with insurance, medical billing companies as soon as possible Contact the 3 Credit Bureau companies and freeze her credit so no one can span and use her credit. When you cancel future payments on their health Insurance make sure "Bills in Process" will continue to be paid. It can be a loop hole in some policies. Request lots of Death Certificates from the state. We started with 20 and will probable need to request/pay for a few more. If your state has a property tax, know that they will remove her Homestead Exemption at the date of death, so the rest of the year taxes will be prorated higher. Dividing house hold goods is an emotional family process. Lots of individual memories and who wants what, trying to divide equally etc. To me, the memories will always be there, the rest is just "stuff" As you work through the process, think of your loved one often. they worked hard to raise you, so handling their final estate is the least you can do.

4 pointsShe is coming home today and walking on her own two feet. We still have to keep working on her excercises to keep the range of motion intact ,she is already at 110 degrees bent and can nearly straighten them as well. the main thing is not to get lazy and let scar tissue form. Her goal of attending our daughter's wedding celebration in Michigan will be met. The main therapist is a real hoot. Think of Bill Engvall in looks and personalty in a Larry the Cable Guy sized package.

3 pointsLoaded the buckets. I'll be there Fri. and Sat. The show details are in the calendar. If you see anything you need, send me a PM before Friday. Or come to the show!

3 pointsWith my Mom, I had her set up a trust for her 3 kids that expressed her wishes. My sister was co-owner on her checking account, so we had access to money for expenses. The lawer was excellent so everything went very smooth and no probate because of the trust. If possible, be ahead of the game, know what interested parties want and get plenty of Original Death Certificates. The Crematory furnished the Death Certificates...took about a week.

3 pointsHad my first full day without news 24. Many say I missed it but also do feel a bit of a disconnect. We went to the cinema this afternoon, saw Beetlejuice 2. When my dad was young his news would have arrived once a week at the cinema, how things have changed.

3 pointsWatch for these guys. They leave a sticky mess of eggs.

3 points@kpinnc Ok, Thanks, I’ve already made a list on Wheelhorse Parts and More. I also looked at the decals on Redo Your Horse for it. so I think I’ve got a good case of it. 😁

3 pointsThat lake is 13 miles long and 2 miles across its widest part. Plenty of really nice coves to get out of the wind if needed. Been hanging around that lake since 1980. Beautiful ,quiet and very peaceful area. Great snowmobile and hunting as well. Thanks for the interest.

2 pointsI swear by Kroil. After a while you even get hooked on the smell! This piece has definitely been rode hard, yet other than wear issues (despite mountains of grease everywhere) and a few redneck repairs, it seems to be pretty sound. The 12 HP Kohler doesn't smoke, miss, or have any knocks and the hydro seems clean and strong.

2 pointsSo this is what the old lady was haranguing me about on the honey do. Finish the steel on it. Reminding her that some of you stretch a project out much longer didn't help... didn't mention names EB ... Have to do the soffits & facia yet but all the steel is done. Managed to retain all my fingers in the process ...

2 pointsSerious KP ... would have to be a very special model and would try to stick with come from as came from the factory look. I've learned to appreciate the patina look...

2 pointsMy son felt his 312-H (Magnum) was “running rich.” It was. The foam pre-filter was totally clogged and the inner filter was nearly done. Replaced both. With them off, though, noticed that the choke butterfly wasn’t fully opening. Repositioned the end “Z” to one of the arm holes closer to the shaft and adjusted the position of the housing in the clamp. Full control restored! Also adjusted the idle speed up from about 650 (yeah, it was just putt-putting!) up to 1,000

2 pointsI don't remember that Don. But then my data storage area is overloaded. I have replacer floats and sending units in some of my boat tanks. Pretty important to never run dry in a boat. The one had an 86 gallon tank. My rule was burn 30 going out, 30 coming in, and 26 in reserve for that "O-s@#t event".

2 pointsI noticed the PTO clevis was bent, so I pulled the PTO to have a look inside. I found these parts inside. But looking at the schematic, no such parts are shown. Everything in the diagram is intact. The outer PTO shaft spins freely in its bearing and the appropriate snap rings seem to be in place. Any ideas?

2 pointsIn all seriousness @19richie66, Thank you for putting on these little drawings for prizes. Please keep doing it as often as possible… So I have a chance to figure out a strategy to help me win !

2 points@cschannuth have an enjoyable day CRAIG ! hot pot roast sandwich for lunch , and a nap , pete

2 pointsAll the load is on the C beams, not the spacers/bolts. If you twist the beams that much, You are going to need a bigger press.
-
2 pointsHi all, trying to get the steering wheel of the shaft, won't fit on press. (don't know if this modification has been before) So tried to block it up, not happening, broke the block, so cut the cross beam and bolted it back together. Worked great, sounded like a gun going off when it popped

2 points@oliver2-44 sorry to hear of your MIL,S passing , as said, my wife was a nursing home office manager , EVERY STATE HAS A DIFFERENT LAW / LEGAL STATIS , PERTAINING TO ANYTHING , if anyone is not up to date on it , might be a good idea , to VERIFY HOW IT APPLIES TO YOU ! no one will tell you , that you are screwing up , you will find out , after your opportunity has passed . everyone's set up is different, verify and get up to date , makes things much easier , pete
-
2 pointsI did the same as Jim @WHX??, cut the cross web on one end and it has allowed me to do several hubs and steering wheels.
-
2 pointsIt's in the wrong hole. Notice how the yoke isn't centered with the PTO. I don't see how it could even work that way because there is no camming to pull the yoke tight. It should have a shoulder bolt in the hole where the top of the yoke is now. Take it apart and reassemble like Tonys. No need to pop the retainer off the yoke. Just reposition and install the bolt through the unused hole in the plate.

2 pointsSo, today I finally got to where I could & very much need to get this under way. Hooked up a battery to it & starter was not cooperating. Tore the starter all apart. cleaned the Comutator, brushes & about 30 years worth of snot, dust & grime from the spiral splines.... got things moving freely again & well it took right off like it should. Starts & runs like a top. Bigest problem is no Forward or reverse.... started to take things apart to inverstigate & ran out of daylight.... more tomorrow

2 pointsA fear I have with modifying a tool is once changed you become the owner of any injury that occurs. If someone else uses your modified tool and is injured you could be facing serious liability.
-
2 pointsQuick update. Vacuum chamber has held at 25" for a couple of hours. Will see how it does overnight. 29" would be nice, but 25" will probably get it done. The thinner super glue actually wasn't as good as the gel stuff. Pulled off first side of bobbin and had some loose wire. Currently glued and clamped. Will probably have to do it again for the other side.

2 points😂 don’t think didn’t occur to me, but I have a feeling the wife will recommend I put a sofa in the garage (sleeper sofa😂)!
-
2 pointsToday, I got my plow put on this pig, and swapped the right front tire as the one I swapped to, had a medium air leak. It gave you just enough time to start something then it goes flat. Besides that I’ve been running it steady to clean it out and the start issue seems to be a safety switch issue as you jiggle the PTO and it starts. Unfortunately, the rust that welds bolts and screws into their holes has been an issue. the two spots for safety switches have seized bolts over them but that’s tomorrow’s project. On a side note, I’ve become a big fan of Kohler after having my two tractors.

2 pointsWhen asked how he was doing, my late father-in-law used to say, "I woke up on the green side of the grass today". My health isn't what it used to be, but I'm still waking up on the green side of the grass. I try to stay away from talking politics, I only watch the news to make sure that we haven't entered into nuclear war, and I find myself petting my cat a lot. I go to the doctor when I'm sick, stay away otherwise. I find that he is a pill pusher, and the pharmacies love that. If my Medicare Rx plan doesn't pay for it, I don't take it. Fresh air and non-stressful exercise can do wonders for you. A walk through a mountain path is infinitely better that a walk in a city. Ice cold mountain stream water is better than beer. And seat time is a bonus.

1 pointAlso used the press to remove the rear pin. I put the transmission on a engine stand, tuned to the side, removed cross bar pushed in to press, got a long piece of pipe (bigger around than the rear pin) put it on down side of case, used a small pin and pressed it out.
