6 pointsI was talking to a friend of mine and I know some of you on here as well as me collect tractors of few colors. I have a friend selling off part of his collection of about 150 tractors. I like wheel horses he had one on that he was not letting go. Springfield's and small tractors, the smaller they are the more neat they are to me and he offered me a few, one of witch was a bonanza, they made tractors for about a 10 or 12 year long run I think, I may be wrong. the one im buying is one of their truck type tractors that have a small bed on them like a truck and the one I'm getting is a shortbed and I don't know if it is harder to find or anything I've acctually not seen a actual picture of it I am getting the bonanza, a huffy, a little craftsman and a Springfield 36, a good size haul to add onto the collection I'm shure I'll post more about it

4 pointsIf I remember correctly, he broke that hub while plowing about 9yrs ago. I gave him a new hub but it was 1 1/8" so it would not work. He said he took his old hub to shop class in high school and repaired it. Guessing this was the repair they came up with.

3 pointsI seldom post after 8:00 pm and now there is scientific evidence that we men probably should think twice about doing anything involving thought after 8:00 pm. According to researcher Laura Pritschet our brains shrink after 8:00 pm but do recover by morning, Good night all. https://www.the-sun.com/health/12518825/mens-brains-shrink-everyday-reset-overnight-hormones/#:~:text=MEN'S brains shrink in volume, the man's brain reset overnight.

3 pointsBelieve me, it is making me fidget as well but I know that I will need something to keep me entertained during the winter so I will wait. I could likely assemble the entire thing in a day or two but I will try and make it last as long as possible. Taking lots of pictures and posting them to Redsquare also takes time and keeps me occupied.

3 pointsSave it! They are great Wheel Horse tractors! They helped revolutionize mowing and yard work. First 48 inch mower deck, 54 inch snowplow.dozer blade and they could not make enough of them!

3 points@Pullstart My current weight is 138. I was about 165 at the 2023 big show. They do want me to gain gain weight that is why I can't go back to work for two weeks and eat 6 times each day he said my body is using more trying to heal.

3 pointsFer sure... Must Have messed up the key way, cut the bore off and drilled and tapped. Either that or he was trying to run a implement off the rear wheel ... Gotta like the cut off teeth to clear the studs... Think I'm just gonna run it like I stole it...

3 pointsThe we've see it all file is gettin pretty full ... check this out. Found while harvesting a axle bracket... Question is do I try and fix it ? Seem to be on pretty good if not brown welded. No shortage of 1" hubs here. You ever heard of Paul's Garage @Achto ? City says Omro. @PeacemakerJack ?

3 pointsI had a follow up visit with the surgeon today. The pathology report shows no more cancer in the lymph nodes but there was in the tumor removed. Due to my energy level and weight loss (138 lbs) as of today I cannot return to work for two more weeks. He also told me they would like me to have more chemo to insure the cancer will not return. I have an appointment with the oncologist Oct. 7 to see what the plan will be.

2 pointsThey came from this bumper assortment kit. It is this one. It is slightly too small so it does not snap into the hole as tight as I would like so I put a light coat of silicone on the bumper then popped it into the hole. Nice and secure now. Once the fender is in place it would be held as well.

2 pointsBefore digging too deep check the valve pushrods making sure they did not jump ship.
-
2 pointsBody is solid with no rot. I got push plow with it. He had a one bottom plow but his friend wanted it.
-
2 pointsNot my Wheel Horse, but there is a C-141 with a deck, plow, chains, and weights outside the local hardware store. It is on consignment for $1100. Seems a little steep to me. It has been there for about a year. Poor thing is fading in the weather. Part of me says make make an offer and save it. The other part of me says that I have more than enough projects already, and no place to keep it or time to work on it.
-
2 pointsIt’s from Harbor Freight. I got the idea from Don’s (@Lee1977) build. Works very well!

2 pointsLooks like fun. During yesterday's family gathering, I was telling my brother in law about the Allis Chalmers B10 I picked up this summer. He did a restoration on one probably 20 years back. His wife joins the conversation with 'you want another Wheel Horse?' My wife chimes in with 'NO!' I immediately point out to my wife that Horses are herd creatures, while noticing that my brother in law is looking at his wife with a 'I don't believe you just said that, and where did it come from' expression on his face.

2 pointsAlways fun but especially so when you get another youngin hooked on our beloved Tractors. This was the third time today, kept asking for more ! I told her I could go all day and not get tired of Tractors, little one was thinking the same thing.

2 pointsI've had this 1267 up for sale for a while. Had about 30 inquiries on FBMP but nobody would commit to even coming to look. Finally a guy from the snow belt said he wanted to come ASAP. He's been wanting a WH or an old Cadet for a while. Took one look and said "I want it! " Then started asking about attachments. I said I had a snow blower that I was thinking about selling as we haven't gotten snow in 3 years. Plus I have the PK Loader and an Ariens walk behind. Showed him the Tall Shoot and he said how much? Shot him a price and he said OK. I had to get it mounted up so I can show him how it goes on. I had to build the PTO pulley out of parts as the pulley on it was for a 1/2" belt and the blower uses a 5/8".
-
2 pointsWhose idea was this?!?!? Obviously wrong rim offset for a & wacked the axle bracket every go round. Small wonder tires don't hold air ... nice very wide tires tho may have to find some correct rims & shoe a different horse. Good fender clearance for 25-10-12 tires.
-
1 pointLooking at a 1054. Body looks solid and all parts look to be there. Doesnt run but engine is free and comes with snow plow and chains. Asking 300 and for another 150 a one bottom plow. Sound fair?
-
1 pointNow we wait on the super glue to cure. Getting 1.2 ohms.
-
1 pointWheel Horse published very few service manuals and this one 1978-79 being the first for the tractors. The info applies to older and later up to the last models produced. Just in case you do not have it.
-
1 pointThere are different lengths of tube. Be prepared with your model number or a good measurement.

1 pointGot any pics Kev? Here is a newer bracket on my 312 where the notches are below the axle. And the older design where the notches were in front of the axle. Seems the tiller bars would interfere with the axle and/or the axle bracket spacer bar. BTW, I believe Jay's old Raider lived in my barn before I dropped it off at Jays barn.

1 pointThis 750 hour non running 310-8 that I bought for $175 had evidence the PO used the hammer on the starter to get her running for quite a while. A few checks with the VOM showed the problem was in a fuse holder. Added a waterproof fuse holder and it has run fine ...even with an abused starter. I'm guessing the vibration from the PO pounding on the starter was enough to connect the worn fuse holder until one day it failed to work. So, I get a cheap roller with a great 42"SD.

1 pointBoss in my first job out of college was a former Air Force avionics tech for fighter planes. He introduced me to the “brogan adjustment” techs sometimes used. Many of you know brogans are the heavy lace-up boots worn by the U.S. military in WWII and later. The thought of “fixing” a fighter plane this way, and then letting the pilot go fly it, made me shiver.
-
1 pointOk, the rope could possibly arrive me in such a case if Leo had fun to bring it, but the Sandwich would definitely never arrived it more hide itself until next Dogwalk... 😂😂

1 pointI've done a magnetron conversion a quite a few single cylinder Briggs. Have never been disappointed. I do as @Gasaholic suggested, cut the wire for the points & just leave them where they are to plug the hole.
-
1 pointYep. OEM conversion parts will also include a plunger hole plug to plug the plunger hole for the breaker plunger. However, many of us pro techs shortcut it by clipping the wires next to the breaker box cover without popping flywheel off (Be sure which wires you're clipping though, don't clip alternator wires!) other than that the magnetron conversion coil bolts right in, just set the air gap and hook up the ground wire to your kill circuit and should be good to go. Note that the Magnetron generally requires around 250 RPM to generate a spark so trying to check spark by spinning the flywheel by hand is a crapshoot, so if you tend to do that to check spark before bolting up, don't assume it means the coil is bad. You'd need to put in recoil or spin it with starter to generate enough RPM to get a good spark from Magnetron coils. Also to add - New briggs part number currently is 590781 (394891 is the old part number)

1 pointSpec # checks out as a ... they used the original shroud. Short block maybe? Just keeps gettin better... Found this under seat debris... regular freakin hardware store there... Now I gotta see if I can save the rusted tight needle nose... Whatthehellisthematta with a clown like me...

1 pointIf you set the exhaust valve while it was on the ACR (Automatic Compression Relief ) pin, then the ACR would no longer be doing it's job. This would cause your engine to turn over hard or stop when it hit the compression stroke. If your engine has points, try static timing them. I have used this method to turn hard to start engines into 1 pull wonders. https://www.mgonitzke.net/cubcadet/tools/static_timing.pdf

1 pointI am regaining my strength and am able to take care of my yard again. I am spending time in the shop again for hours at a time instead of minutes, I'm starting to feel like my old self again.
