8 pointsBeen a ridiculous level busy couple days and we still have one more. We brought this snowblower to @Maz91 on the way to my mom's house Thursday evening. Helped her all day Friday. Got some SERIOUS cleaning up done. My parents lived lives that were pretty traditional in the sense that he did "boy stuff," and she did "girl stuff." His garage and yard were his domain and hers the house, for the most part. Also, they were never what I'd call wealthy, but they always had a little money left over. That's great and all but my father was a hoarder of sorts and also not inclined to be well organized and also not inclined to search more than about 2 seconds for a tool or supplies he couldn't find in his mess. Sooooo..... While cleaning out the garage and trucks (both work and personal), the folks helping have found at LEAST half a dozen sets of tools scattered everywhere. One wrench here/the rest of the set there... etc.... Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Trina and I were down there with my father's brother Ron and his wife. Margo is a "Friggin cyclone", So named by her own grand daughter. 😅 My mom has named my other half "Perpetual motion" and "Energizer Bunny." Combined.... those two are a force to be reckoned with. We did a BUNCH of work getting things rearranged and redistributed and just plain tossed in the dumpster. Again, we brought home a vehicle full of tools and shop stuff we'll actually use. This Pilot is FULL of treasures again. 😅 Then yesterday afternoon we went apple 🍎 pickin. Today.....??

7 pointsAfter getting those Cortisone shots in each knee on Monday, I decided to walk instead of riding around the Amish farm. The cantaloupe harvest is over and the thousands remaining are ground up for fertilizer. The cabbage has been harvested. The horses are being treated to a few remaining ears of sweet corn. The soy beans are starting to turn. Still have pumpkins , broccoli, and cauliflower. to harvest. Hickory nuts and acorns are everywhere.

7 pointsI've had this 1267 up for sale for a while. Had about 30 inquiries on FBMP but nobody would commit to even coming to look. Finally a guy from the snow belt said he wanted to come ASAP. He's been wanting a WH or an old Cadet for a while. Took one look and said "I want it! " Then started asking about attachments. I said I had a snow blower that I was thinking about selling as we haven't gotten snow in 3 years. Plus I have the PK Loader and an Ariens walk behind. Showed him the Tall Shoot and he said how much? Shot him a price and he said OK. I had to get it mounted up so I can show him how it goes on. I had to build the PTO pulley out of parts as the pulley on it was for a 1/2" belt and the blower uses a 5/8".

7 pointsWe had some friends over yesterday, and we took a walk in the field trails. 200 yards past my hunting tree I heard a cry. We found this little thing in the weeds. I named her Rooster.

5 pointsWell... now that you mentioned it, @WHX?? said something about cherry red with flames being preferred and, well, @ebinmaine has been known to go outside the norms of propriety in public...
-
5 pointsOne thing that you will find with us nuts, the color is kind of like horse shoes - close is good with us. The Regal red is the choice of many collectors. My color of choice is International Harvester red. Is it a perfect match?? Not perfect, but after the whole tractor is painted it looks excellent. No one has ever questioned the color on any of my resto's.

5 pointsThis 750 hour non running 310-8 that I bought for $175 had evidence the PO used the hammer on the starter to get her running for quite a while. A few checks with the VOM showed the problem was in a fuse holder. Added a waterproof fuse holder and it has run fine ...even with an abused starter. I'm guessing the vibration from the PO pounding on the starter was enough to connect the worn fuse holder until one day it failed to work. So, I get a cheap roller with a great 42"SD.

5 pointsI have been using Non-E with Stable for years and have had no fuel system issues. In my case I didn't know my herd would be in "storage" for over a year when I had the stroke. Everything sat with the old fuel in it for a year, had to charge a couple of batteries but everything starts and runs just like it had never been sitting around. Jim's idea had crossed my mind from time to time but the few extra bucks I spent on Non-E and Stable sure paid off.

4 pointsI'm gonna 2nd this ^ even with AG tread fluid tires and wheel weights - no damage or injuries lesson learned
-
3 pointsWelp, we added another to the herd. It’s a C-121 been sitting for a few years. Came with a whole bunch of miscellaneous wheelhorse parts. Got the tractor home hooked up a new battery to it cranked and no spark. Took the points cover off cleaned and regapped the points and cleaned the spark plug and she fired right up! Going to post a few things we got with the tractor for sale soon. Seat as you’ll see if a wreck. PO gave us a few other seats including a short back WH seat I think I’m going to put on it. Also got 1 hubcap that I’m going to make something cool with! This week me and my dad will go through it change all the fluids drive belt (which is also a wreck) replace the fuel line front to back and change the plug and air filter, Then she’ll be a great worker! 3 pointsI just drove 3-1/2 hours for these two items, snow blower and tiller.. the only thing I REALLY wanted was the tiller, it’s complete minus the bracket for the axle… the price was for sure worth it! I’ll be needing an idler pulley and maybe a longer cable for the lift. All in all I’m pretty satisfied. The snowblower is going to need some work so I might part it out or sell it as a project, it has rod and flag. The tiller has a little fluid in it, but not a whole lot.. I’ll not use it alot so if it leaks a little it’s ok.

3 pointsHaven’t biked in close to 7 weeks (usually get out 3-4 times a month). So this morning before I mowed my brothers lawn and my mother in laws lawn I got in a ride. Really hammered down and made good time with a good average speed…legs were not happy with me at all
-
3 pointsGot any pics Kev? Here is a newer bracket on my 312 where the notches are below the axle. And the older design where the notches were in front of the axle. Seems the tiller bars would interfere with the axle and/or the axle bracket spacer bar. BTW, I believe Jay's old Raider lived in my barn before I dropped it off at Jays barn.

3 pointsIn public!!! I was just telling he and Trina the other day that the military tribute tractor is definitely one of the coolest I have seen. for me, this is my only wheel horse and I’m the type of person that likes to keep stuff period correct/original. I might just hit send on the regal red because I’ve been telling myself I like darker red vs brighter all along. I’m really just surprised to see how bright the original color was.
-
3 pointsOne...... One Horse that isn't red. Outta four I currently have running. And even that one's reddish brown or brownish red.

3 pointsAll the geese are congregating and flying formations. Corn is being chopped like the market’s closing down. I saw one swipe of beans get chopped down the road end of week last week. Different deer are on trail cams.
-
3 pointsI know from past experience that I can put that handle in a battery powered drill to raise/lower the jack quickly.
-
3 pointsThis is the one I'll be using. It's from a 2008 Pontiac G3. Wittle bitty car. That's Trina's not very large hand.
-
3 pointsThose older single peddle tractors are the worse once you hit the brake the clutch is disengage and it will freewheel. Steep hill are also bad even with brakes only one wheel will have brakes and the other will freewheel. I preferer the later model tractors with induvial brake and clutch peddles as you have a little more control.

3 pointsHaving done something similar myself, I would never laugh at you. …But I’ll say I will laugh with you. No brakes made my eyes get big on more than one occasion! I learned the hard way that just because you can pull a heavy trailer does not mean you can stop one!

3 pointsI thought I had finished with my plumbing efforts having two bathrooms that are perfectly fine. But father in law is too weak to use the bath tub so we decided to rip it out and replace with a shower cubicle. So out came the tools and I made a start building a stud wall to house the pipes and sorted the waste and water feeds. The tray needed raising up because the waste outlet is higher than it should be so I had to pack it up with marine ply. I'm not tiling it, I'm using upvc wall cladding panels which are pretty good for the job. Certainly easier than me trying to tile the wall. Waiting for delivery of the panels on Tuesday and then I can build the glass cubicle and finish the job.

2 pointsWent to to New Hampshire again to replenish my ethanol free fuel. Just a reminder that here in Connecticut its close to $30 for a gallon of straight or premix ethanol free . Bought 43.5 gallons in New Hampshire for $4.36 a gallon at the pump. Factor in the $29 my truck used to get there and back and it makes the e-free stuff $5.03 a gallon!! Speaking of trucks…Tundras are the most reliable trucks out there but were never great on fuel, but my 2016 with close to 100k on it got 19.9 MPG when hand calculated (trucks computer was pretty darn accurate) super happy with that! This was 90% highway with cruise set at 68/69 most of the way.

2 pointsWas looking through some things this evening and figured these belonged here! My grandparents and cousin with the Work Horse my grandpa bought new in ‘83 the picture is dated 1986 along with the original operators manual which was really cool to be able to read through. The tractor is still around too which is cool and one funny thing with it was my grandfather didn’t like the turf tires so the dealer swapped wheels off another tractor so somewhere out there there’s a wheel horse with the gloss white rears and this one has the beige white rims.

2 pointsWith Fall approaching the penguins are following their migration route past my house. Due to over breeding half now walk while the rest take a conveyance powered by animals they force into service.

2 pointsTrina's newly restored stove is AMAZING!! The thermostatic fan works wonderful. The draft is excellent. Certainly the best stove we've had on the main floor. She started it, got it going well, added ONE stick after that. We'll let the temp fall for the night now. HUGE difference compared to the other two stoves that have been here.

2 pointsWe officially christened our new deck today by hosting a brunch for family. We originally had invited 19 people, but only 15 were able to attend. All had a good time, despite the light rain. We had a waffles with a variety of toppings, scrambled eggs, Monte Cristo sandwiches, loaded the Blackstone up with bacon, sausage patties, link sausage, and ham. The idea was floated that we should get together again next July.
-
2 pointsCareful you don't go creating another Wheelhorse Anonymous "patient"
-
2 pointsAlways fun but especially so when you get another youngin hooked on our beloved Tractors. This was the third time today, kept asking for more ! I told her I could go all day and not get tired of Tractors, little one was thinking the same thing.

2 pointsThere was a guy on YouTube removing ethanol from his pumped gas with water. It was a pretty big too-do with a big mess and lots of time and such. Then at the end he says "because of removing the ethanol he needs to add an octane booster". And proceeds to pour in an alcohol based booster! LOL. The comments really let the guy have it too. I couldn't find it to post it so maybe he removed it out of embarrassment. I think Lucas makes a petroleum based octane booster.

2 pointsBoss in my first job out of college was a former Air Force avionics tech for fighter planes. He introduced me to the “brogan adjustment” techs sometimes used. Many of you know brogans are the heavy lace-up boots worn by the U.S. military in WWII and later. The thought of “fixing” a fighter plane this way, and then letting the pilot go fly it, made me shiver.

2 pointsCouldn’t really sleep last night, so I went out to the garage late and finally took the engine and the brake/clutch pedal off my tractor and got it down to the frame. Very exciting because once this frame is refinished I’m really hoping this project starts moving fairly rapidly. one thing I noticed for sure is that regal red is not looking like the factory color. I had kind of said f it and ordered a case of regal, but as an indecisive person this messes me all up. Now I have to really think whether to stick with the darker color (regal) or to try to match the factory paint. I guess I should also consider that the regal red will fade and become lighter over time. as a side note, I listened to this interview with Norman from Isavetractors who I owe just as much to this hobby as Red Square. Pretty interesting story on that guy. Who knew he was a traveling professional magician? That’s crazy. also seriously considering changing my user name to Mike Wazowski. A nickname Eric and Trina gave me that’s kinda sticking haha.

2 pointsGorilla glue will work, but there has to be moisture present for it to work. Also, it expands as it cures, so clamping is a must.
-
2 pointsReally fortunate here in Ga near Lake Lanier. Lots of places selling non E gas for about $1 a gal more than regular. Started using it years ago after having outboard engine issues. Never looked back for all my small engine needs...
-
2 pointsWhose idea was this?!?!? Obviously wrong rim offset for a & wacked the axle bracket every go round. Small wonder tires don't hold air ... nice very wide tires tho may have to find some correct rims & shoe a different horse. Good fender clearance for 25-10-12 tires.

2 pointsThere a Gt14 restoration thread by Alton. He mounted a set of mid attach Amati’s hitches to the inside of the angle with a spacer and modified a mule drive to fit so he could use the standard 70’s and forward mower decks.
-
2 pointsI never really thunk of that. Actually a good idea, because it doesn’t take much weight to raise the nose of a wheel horse. Now I gotta drag the welder back out…
-
2 points@JCM @Ed Kennell Any others... Is that the same as a snow dozer plow bracket?
-
2 pointsThank you. Coming soon Need to add a “lighter button and an indicator light”
-
2 pointsMan it’s dry around here, we need a good rain…. I had this reel years ago, sold it and recently bought it back.
-
2 pointsI got to thinkin that the hydraulic lift needed something to lift so I added a reel. Now maybe it’s done, but who knows.
-
2 pointsWow ... now if that wasn't rigged... I have one but could have used another for the shop & tractor keys,,,
-
2 points@2drxploder looks like a perfect time to give your paint a penetrating oil spray down , no sandpaper or quick attempts to make it better, let all related paint sit and soak in the lubrication a couple of days , then a clean cloth penetrant rub down , if paint breaks thru , a 6" electric palm buffer , cleaner wax usually brings it out , done this often , never a one and done , WATCH FOR PAINT TRANSFORMATION , thats showing you the way . regularly rub down my horses , with a clean cloth , penetrant , refresh / clean / clear , do dirt / dust , zero rust , pretty easy , pete

2 pointsI hope you took a lot of pictures as you took it apart. It would aid when putting it back together. After a lapse of time the memory can get a little foggy where all those parts go.
