Here's a good and questionable 3523 gear. Those inner teeth are screaming to get ground off. One important thing to check. Put the shifter in 3rd gear and just let the detent balls hold it. Then check the input pulley for any in/out play. It should be zero. Any play at all it how far that gear separates from the 3522 input gear as it's running causing it to be more vulnerable to wear. If there even a little in/out play it can be eliminated with shims on the input shaft before it's inserted into the base. You most likely will still need a new gear/s but this should be done regardless.

This was at the big show this summer. This was going to be Sparky tractor but he found a better one. So he knows I am a big fan of these Sart/Gen tractors so I said yes. @Docwheelhorse Delivered it to me. So from then to now I have been working on it bringing it back to a very useable condition. I did not like the vacuum pumps on these older K181 so I tried finding a mechanical one. It failed to many years sitting in box and forgotten about. So with the help of good members here they led me to electric fuel pump. Never had one. I have to say what a deference . It starts like BAMMMM or snap of your finger. I am a fan of these now. Will buy more as time goes by. Hope you enjoy the picks.

This is the Big Show 2010 Raffle Tractor. I really have not used it much through the years, but it has always been a great runner. It has the front and rear hitch on it and I have used it to move my boat and my horse trailer around. I took it to a bunch of shows the year after I won it, and even took it back to the Big Show at least once. Anyway, @Racinbob came here a few weeks ago. He picked up a C-121 that belonged to Jana and a homemade trailer. He also dropped of like a "Face Cord" of oak and cherry for me. Well, the old rear wheels on that horse blew out trying to get that trailer full of wood back by my wood pile. We made it, but the tires were toast. Went to my favorite Carisle store in town, bought 2 new tires, painted the rims, greased the fittings, changed the oil in the K-241-S and the rear end. It all needed to be done, and I am now looking forward to Winter. The horse with the over spray dull white. I never did like this paint job. With the front hitch that @shorts made for me. Remember this guy from the UK on the B-100 ? Neil This is the trailer load of Oak...toung heavy. I know the feeling. OK...picks of the new tires and painted hubs. 23/850-12/2 Carlisle Turf Saver. So, I went ahead and painted, greased and cleaned up the front wheels also. Restolium Almond...brush painted...thinned with Minerial Spirits according to label on can.

Those are tractor buying clothes Mike. I have a special homeless wardrobe that I only wear when going to negotiate a tractor deal.

@Achto and @WHX?? have been tooting their horns about these Davey Crockett smokers for quite a while, that they can plug in to the cigarette lighter and run an 8 hour smoke and still start a tractor at the end. Acquiring @stevasaurus’s 702, I have a tractor with a lighter socket. On the same trip, @WHX?? gave me a smoker he got for free and fixed up a bit. I love my Traeger, but there are times it doesn’t make sense to heat up such a huge cook surface for a little meal. This little smoker is great, and gives me an excuse to run a Wheel Horse around a bit (to charge the battery up of course)! Earlier this week I did 12 chicken drumsticks. They ran at 225 for about an hour. Yum!

Today, I made a meatloaf, if you will. I also do this type of mix, make patties and call them “veggie burgers” because my burgers have veggies inside. I think that counts, right? Two packages of venison burger, 5 or 6 red onions, and about 8 small sweet peppers, along with an entire head of garlic. I sautéed the onions and peppers in oil and a little mayonnaise, and added the garlic. I topped the hot pan of veggies with some black pepper grinder and tumeric. I mixed the veggies in with the meat, added some Sweet Baby Ray’s bbq sauce, more mayo, and about 1/3 cup of sweet relish. Don’t forget to add the washyersister sauce! I mixed it well, and added it to a greased foil pan. It’s running at 200 degrees right now since about 11:30. About 3, I’ll cover it with foil and bump it up to 250. At 4:30, I’ll uncover it, add more bbq sauce and crank it up to 350 to finish for supper at 5.

That is caused by shifting on the fly. Lowell at WheelHorsePartsand More has new reproductions. It does require splitting the case to fix - figure also on the 4 oil seals, case gasket, and a new shifter boot - minimum. Lowell carries all those. Set you back about $200 or so... and 2 quarts of gear oil. Lowell is in the RS Vendor section.....

Looks like a great meal Kevin. Did not take a tractor up Nort camping with us so my Davey Crotch-itch is running off the camper battery. 4 racks of baby back ribs, cooking at 225. Started at noon, will be ready at 6pm.

My early one with S/G and spark advance (pre-compression release) needs a strong battery to get it over the compression hump, but they do light off nicely!

Because that bracket grabs the belt and supports the loop when pushed and locked for disengaging the blades. The belt loop needs to slip on the engine pulley to disengage and stop the spinning. You are only seeing it not touching the pulley because that part is missing. That bracket does not touch the belt when the blades are engaged Pretty simple to add a bracket to that pulley you have pictured.

EB and BBT went to Massachusetts to pick up the tractor from my mom that we had built for my Ole Man to use.

Oh for sure! I’m also of a fan of the “grunt” as I go from the flat part of the lawn onto the steep-ish slope and the governor kicks in. I imagine it saying “Ok, I’ve got this"

I'm waiting on a couple parts for this one. I wasn't going to open up the carb but I decided to since I knew it had been sitting for quite a spell. Probably a good thing I did. I'm guessing booze in the fuel did it's thing. A good soaking and a new kit and it should be good to go (forgot the after pics). Hopefully the fuse block I ordered will get here today and I can get this one wrapped up.

The seat frame will not work as originally designed. @953 nut gifted me a set of nice flip up seats so I had to rethink the seat frame. I did a mock up to see what would work. Now to build the seat frame.

I don't think you can beat a Short Frame Square Hood with a K-181-S for starting by snapping your fingers. Both of mine start by looking at them...even in winter.

Every state probably has its own laws or are working on them but I would guess that it would be unlawful to do it the same day you hunt. Unlawful if it harasses the deer. Something along those lines.

What trouble? I know it is illegal to hunt from motorized vehicles or to use electronic devices to call or herd deer while hunting. But is it illegal to video deer from the air?

Morgan, the 14-8, got a bit of exercise today moving the pontoon trailer down to the lake house so I could load up some treated 6x6x16' lumber to get it out of the way. Then got the cart out to haul off the cutoffs from the deck project and carry some stuff to the lake house for my wife. While I had the cart attached, I loaded up the dozer blade that has been languishing in the lake house yard and moved it back to its proper storage place by the tractor shed.

I always love the first few days of a new pair of shoes!

The other day I used a Wheelhorse to mow for the first time. Bittersweet considering I was doing it only because my father couldn't. On the HUGE plus side, he did get to see his front lawn freshly attended the day he passed. ❤️ This tractor will soon be returning to Maine where Trina has already named it.... after him.

All fixed Bill. You can see the ball stud on top of the engine along with the Chinese link. The 'old' style linkage I had was the type with the ball stud embedded into the linkage end. Then the threaded stud connects to the carb. I should have done it this way right off the get go instead of ordering a new link

AT the top of the transmission section there are list with the bearing and seal numbers for your transmission.

Down at the bottom of the fan gear where it attaches to the steering shaft which goes up to the front. The roll pin has broken and that's what secures the fan gear to that 3/4" steering shaft. You will need to knock the old pieces out and replace it

Pushed the 512-D out in the sun today to gain some working space in the shop. I have'nt had any time to bring it back to life but I did have a few occasions in the last couple of months where I wish I had. Sometimes prioritizing like a real adult sucks..
