The other day I used a Wheelhorse to mow for the first time. Bittersweet considering I was doing it only because my father couldn't. On the HUGE plus side, he did get to see his front lawn freshly attended the day he passed. ❤️ This tractor will soon be returning to Maine where Trina has already named it.... after him.

So nobody suggested black…so I went with black . I like it and it’s a color that I will be able to live with for years and not feel I want to change it after a couple seasons. Inside weights are now black as well.

Couldn’t resist this for the $. SIL of original owner said his FIL always took good care of this tractor, had it serviced regularly at the local shop. 😳🤷‍♂️. I told him it looked like it had been rode hard and put away wet most of the time. As usual, it ran when it was last parked (2 years ago). The deck is shot but I’m hoping to be able to salvage some parts before scraping the shell. It came with a snow blower which is what I was really after. As you can see it’s a little rough but I think it’s savable. We’ll see. So far I’ve just power washed it. Gonna pull the deck and strip it of parts next. Then on to the tractor and blower. Im hoping to make a dedicated snowblower unit if all goes well.

I appreciate all your well wishes and thoughts more than you could know. Considering the circumstances, we're all doing OK. We miss him of course... but it's wonderful to see his suffering and challenges from several different sicknesses are over. He fought hard. Several family members have been crafting his obituary for online reading. When I get a link I'll post it. One thing of note for now. My parents owned a floor covering business starting in 1977. He just did his last installation a week and a half before his passing. Process that for a minute and you can see his work ethics. He had nicknames printed on pens and cards many times. The most common was "Ugly Bruce". Remember a few months ago Trina and I built a C121 Automatic for him to mow with. I wasn't sure what to do with it. She apparently had already decided when I asked her. She said we should have @Vinylguy make up some decals that say "Ugly Bruce". In purple letters. The Ole Man's favorite color. 💜 Obviously in Trina's mind that tractor is now a permanent T & E Stables Herd member.

I am regaining my strength and am able to take care of my yard again. I am spending time in the shop again for hours at a time instead of minutes, I'm starting to feel like my old self again.

Zach used Blackbeard (GT14) to set up Friday for the church car show on Saturday—then used it last night for cleanup—entered in the show and got a 3rd place trophy—all in a days work😁

You need to correct this before the pulley is damaged. Get a shorter belt or some of the slide bars have two holes where you can reposition the pulley away from the bolt. Remove any sharp edges and burrs from the pulley before running your new belt. Oh, to the

Some of you may remember my buddy Bill. I fixed his Bronco 14 a while ago. He bought this whole setup brand new in 1968 ! I love it when he talks about it because his face lights up with pride. Anyway, he lives in a small cottage on the water less than a mile away from me and has a newer box store Cub Cadet to mow his lawn with. The other day he called and said the Cub keeps throwing the belt off the mower deck. I really didn’t want to work on it right away especially when it’s close to 90 degrees outside. So I decided to run over there and just mow the grass for him. He is a super nice guy and I really enjoy helping him. He always tries to pay me for helping him, but I will never take a cent for it. I’m a firm believer in karma. After mowing I thought this might be a good time for a picture or two, since I’m at the beach! In the background we are looking north towards the North Fork of Long Island. Beyond that would be the Long Island Sound and then Connecticut. I have 3 runners, soon to be a 4th. And at least the bones to 3 more. Those are destined to become "Yard Art" and sold off. The workers - they have their pecking order too. The last to go would be my FIL's 702 that has been "napping" in the back of the garage - his first WH, mine too...

There was a time I had 16…playing musical batteries got old. Plus some would sit so long that it was a pain to get em fired up. I won’t store them outside so storage was an issue as well. Started selling off the ones I had no love or attachment to and got down to 5 machines. It felt great! Somehow I have crept back up to 8 or 9. I ended up buying 2 machines at this years WH Show but managed to sell one 3 days after I got back home. I guess if you have a machine that just doesn’t get used it might be time to let it go.

I have 5 tractors and there is no room for more. They all run well and don't need anything so they don't need attention. The 1267 I have in the classified just sits. I had all of them at the steam show and it was nice having room in the garage for other work. I'm getting older and they have to go sometime just like me.

I do really appreciate when something is carefully planned out.... and it works. Trina's been watching the morning sun over the garden to see what's being shaded at certain times of day. We then fell trees accordingly. The east side has needed a shade reduction for a while. The tree I'm standing beside is the one needing to be felled. It was clearly leaning away from my body which is toward the shed and chicken coop. We chained off and ran 2 hand winches the direction I'm pointing. I made my cutting mouth just to the left of my right leg so the tree could tend toward down hill. We were VERY prepared for it to go exactly where we did not want but it went perfectly the correct direction. We trimmed it up and sectioned the firewood.

@JPWH A chain saw will take care of the problem for ever.

Storage space is probably the main thing for me. I am at this moment trying to figure out if I should part out a couple or sell them so I can have more space.

The way I thinned the herd, was by only keeping the tractors that actually have a purpose. The horses have to earn their keep, so to speak. I'm comfortable with the 5 that I have. So that helps to limit battery purchases and upkeep and maintenance.

I know! 4 wheels. 4 different colors or at least one side one color and the other side a different one. @Sparky That way you won't have to buy 3 tractors at the show. Just drive it around in a figure 8 and folks will think you're a big spender and just bought 2 Workhorses!

Same here ... I've got the complete hydro lift set up @PeacemakerJack give me years ago and may try to hang a 48 off a 520 under it just for grins. Front blade too...

Thanks! I try to take a little extra time to aim even a small tree just right. Usually we do pretty well. Here's a pic from after Trina and her mom cleared the path of branches. The momma is hiding there somewhere...

Same here Jay. Mrs. K would miss the fresh green holly branches and red berries at Christmas. I just need to remember to wear heavy gloves when cleaning up the dead leaves.

Our contest is over the several Euonymus around the property. To me they are fast-growing, invasive, messy, and ugly--a chainsaw would be appropriate. To her, green and shady. The compromise is that I can “trim” them back yearly taking ~3 hours of cutting, hauling, and chipper/shredding plus two Advil before bed.

Really ... Tell you something you already know EB you get them 121 autos tuned up and dialed in they are a worker!

@CubanB would bet , wrong belt , and INCREMENTAL BEARING HANG UP , original idler pulley , known for failures , all of my deck idler pulleys , have bigger bearings , and lucas chassis grease . there is an entire upgrade on this common issue . that constant bearing issue is what fractures decks , tractor supply has a similar pulley , with a larger bearing , had to put a 3/8 sleeve into the 5/8 bearing hole , also cleaned out and re greased the bearing , never trust original lube , BTW the mule drive bearings , also like a lubricant change , pto cone needle bearing , pete

@stevasaurus Yes it’s gloss white, looks good in the picture but I would prefer if the wheels were actually glossier. I should have clear coated them. Maybe this winter I’ll tackle that!
