Firstly fixed the flat Tyre While i do this, i see the right front was also not proper filled and i increase the Pressure a little up to 0,8 Bar. but than i see the left tyre begins ti rip..🤬 Ok so far they will still be usable but 2 new tyres will be ordered soon. I don‘t trust em with heavier Load on the Trailer... 😎 T Than i fabbed me a sleeve bushing for the Steering to reduce the side gap it has. Need one more and reset the Mowerdeck to it‘s original link instead of the Chain. Than i installed the Suicidal Mower but it was not funny - zillions of Moleholes - each 2 m the belt jumps off. 3 h Sun wasn‘t enough to dry the Fields but next Rain occurs, so i decided it must go - now. I decided to give the Suicidal mower a Hydraulic Motor and check if i can better handle with the FEL. This plan was still in mind but now i give it a Try. Ok Not perfectly, i must multiple adjusting the right Angle and i have to rework the Gearratio. the high beltgear ratio consumpts too much power and it didn‘t need 7000 rpm on the Discs. it shure sounds like an Alarm - „don‘t get too close“ but on mowing task it has not enough power to stay at this rpm. have another solution prepared that reduces the ratio to 2900rpm with different Beltpulleys, what should be fine and increases the Power to mow. We will see how this turns out. At least Ed Kenells sign found it’s Way to my side door on the Shed. Thanks Ed !

I got to do my first babysitting gig “alone and unsupervised” for 90 minutes for my first and only granddaughter Grace 2 days ago! Wife and daughter in law went blueberry picking and I got quality time Grace is 3 months old.

I believe that's the very first line in "Grandparents 101" This one's only less than a month old but within 2 or 3 blinks he'll be hiking and camping with us.

Today we return three (12, 8, and 3) to their parents after a week here at our house. Right now taking a coffee break from the scavenger hunt for their clothes, shoes, toys, books, etc. It’ll be interesting to hear how they adapt back to having bedtimes and not having their favorite foods at every meal--we grandparents are good at messing with the status quo, aren’t we?!

Got another carb in the ultrasonic cleaner. Also had BBT pull tug tow yank my 1974 C160-8 Tecumseh Horse project up to the barn for some work.

Leaving in an hour for a week of crabbing, fishing, and swimming with the sons and grandsons. on the Chesapeake Bay. Pictures to follow. One of our VRBO rentals yet. Poor Wi Fi, so pics will not load.

I use this. I built an adapter to put forks on instead of the bucket. I then built a rack. Now I can move and store 3 decks at once. Shown in picture are 3 SD decks, 42",48", and 60". Tractor cost a bit of money but has paid for itself many times over with work performed and in possible injuries avoided due to exertion. You simply don't need to lift a heavy load when you have a loader to do it for you.

Well, she is finally tall enough to reach the pedals. Been after me for a few years to let her drive. Today was the day and she was happy! Used half a tank of gas driving around.

Make sure your brake adjustment isn't too tight. I had the same issue on my 857 and the cause was the new band I put on caused the linkage not to move as far as with the old worn out one. This caused the idler pulley not to release enough.

857 got a new shifter boot…the old boot still had another ten years of service left in her I’m sure, but figured why not

When i swaped my 656 to the Predator i had frew things to solve. 1. the original Beltcover was not further usable as before because it gently scratches on the Pulley soi decided to find out how this beltstop exactly works. I had firstly lots of trouble with a continouse gently friction of the Belt on the Gearboxpulley - it wouldn‘t stop. So the Clutch won’t work corectly and the Brake engages too early. First after i adjusted on the Gearbox the Guard over the Gerabox littlebit to front as John suggested ( what is welded on your Side) it begins to keep the Belt tighter but there was also still friction on the Belt while clutch was despressed. A closer inspection shows me that both - the upper belt support and the lower belt support as in this picture from Mike be good visible must be as close as possible to the Belt without touch it when clotch is engaged. first if the Clutch is pressed the belt moves out and hits firstly the lower belt support. The upper Belt support was important to keep the Belt in shape and not be too sloppy. After my tests and tries i found a good setting (similar to that Pict from Mike) it worked as it should without any noise. after that i remodeled the Sidecover a bit to fit to the new bigger Pulley. that worked like a charme now for over 2 years. a gently deformed cover let sometimes the pulley on the Gearbox gently scratching the Cover That was removed with a Washer on the rear to get little more distance between pulley and Cover.

Made one for the rat rod Suburban. Didn't have a belt guard however if I did it wouldn't work anyway. Predator 212 & RJ transmission that's lowered on frame.

That click (I assume solenoid) means the safety switches are working and allowing voltage to go to the solenoid. Make sure the battery is good, check your ground(s), maybe try jumper cables off your car/truck. If none of that works you might be looking at a starter.

I agree with @wallfish and also wonder if this tab/guide on the idler is adjustable. Some are welded. Some bolted. If it's movable you could set it more clockwise.
  25. 3 points
Thanks! Of course, with an “insurance” policy in place, I’ll never break one again, right?
  26. 3 points
Try adjusting that little tab on the front of the belt guard and below the belt. Maybe to 1/16-1/8 off the tight belt. Hard to tell from the pic but it appears like it's bent down a little

I saw this machine posted on a gentlemans personal Facebook page for sale . I kept on saying I don’t need another 🙄 . Few weeks go by after tossing it around, and then @Docwheelhorse rings me and says I’m heading to Pennsylvania do you need anything out that way . So low and behold I bite the bullet, and am sure glad I did . One of the nicest C series I’ve had .Thanks a lot Tony !

I just got a wheel horse 310-8 tractor with a snowblower, the ultimate show plowing mechine, it has a 42inch snow blower, rear plow mount on it, a cab, wheel weights and chains and lights on the cab, did they come standard with them? and aren't cabs kind of a rare option? and is there any other form of id on the wheel weights than the sticker? I don't have it home yet, I was about 3 hours away at a grandparents house, and went to a auction there. I got that wheel horse for $600 I feel like I got a decent deal.it runs and drives thought all gears something in the back squeaks a bit I think or something does and it has 1400 hours on it.. I will go get it soon.

Well this show is under the belt. We packed up and headed out Saturday afternoon. @Achto had to load up and head to his pull which was about 30 minutes away so there went all the fun. Much to everyone's dismay lots of exhibitors & fleamarketers were packing up. The threat of severe thunder boomers didn't help. @jeremi3210 decided to pack up so there went our last camp mate. We decided to too. No fun doing it with everything wet tomorrow. David Brown @new2horses on a Pond lever steer that very badly painted green but much of the original red showing through. @wheelhorsemanwith with @prondzy inspecting a unique ride around Lowell brought. Found a cool hat for Poo Poos in the flea market

@Sparky good for you ! its a humbling / loving experience , my mother took in abandoned babies ,from the NYC catholic charities , for 27 years x 2 babies a year , thats 54 babies ,my sisters and I were taught all the aspects / details about your little brother / sister . to this day can hardly resist holding and watching over a baby . most gut wrenching part was turning over your little brother / sister , to one of the nuns , and getting another one . last photo , is telling you she is happy with grandpa , another grandpa , pete

Picked this up yesterday in Albany area off second owner. Once I figure out the tranny issue it will be a great machine. Got plow and deck with wheel weights with it. Added new battery and fresh fuel and she fired up perfect

Alright! @squonk for the win! Brake was adjusted up “tight” and loosening it so it doesn’t grab so quick has helped. She isn’t perfect but at 57 years old it’s ok to have a couple rattles

Guess I am lucky my local station (6 miles) has a dedicated HiTest non ethanol pump... and they pump it for me...

I do the water test. Here is one you can buy. https://www.amazon.ca/Super-Tester-Flex-Fuel-Ethanol/dp/B073HLSVHX/ref=asc_df_B073HLSVHX/?tag=googleshopc0c-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=293020548866&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12504774167050051998&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9104757&hvtargid=pla-568587015246&psc=1&mcid=25b1728df5af343582f9b9bc6eea6cae I copied it and made my own. No dedicated hoses here so I pump a bit into the truck first to flush the hose before filling the gas cans.

I give all of my wheel horses about 1/8" toe in. I measure by placing a straight edge on jack stands to the height of the center of the front hubs up to the sides of the front wheels. I then measure just ahead and directly behind the front tire from side to side. Therefor my 1/8" toe in is from front to back of the tire as opposed to the wheel but that seems to give me good handling and reasonably good return to center.

Made a test run on my prototype 551 air gap heat shield on a fairly warm day. No singed leg hairs and the paint held up. I'd like a little better bend in the end but I'm not metal fab guy. If I can find the right size dolly maybe I can get it a little better.

Finally had some minutes (the grandchildren were playing yard games) to replace the glass bowl on the fuel strainer, mount the mower deck on the 854, and get after the two week growth of grass. After 40 minutes mowing and the amp gauge hovering at zero, the new-to-me regulator I got at the show was holding at 13.3v. Adjusted it to 14.1v (righty tighty on the screw) and the amps jumped to positive as the battery was.taking more charge. I’ll leave it at this setting for a while and observe the amps and volts while I’m using it.

Tractor buffed and waxed. Hubcaps also cleaned and waxed. They are in almost perfect condition. I made up tie rods mainly because the originals are non adjustable and steering wheel was slightly crooked (Damn OCD). Engine tins straightened and cleaned. Tractor runs and drives very good, just needs a slight carb adjust once I run out the old gas and get some new non-ethanol high test in it (I finally found a station that has gas that I tested to be non ethanol).

A spent battery can read 12-13 with a meter and no load but then drop to 8 when hit with the load of a starter motor.

That grin is a dead giveaway that she’s having a great time. I suspect you can kiss seat time for yourself goodbye for a few years! Later today is my granddaughter’s first lesson on the 854. She has been driving the 312-H and 518-H++ for a year but wants to learn the “stick” shift. Oughta be interesting!

Took the 953 to local ice cream establishment. It's only about a mile & half away. Got plenty 👍 from vehicles along the road. My girlfriend walked there. She said people were smiling when I pulled up??? Told her they were probably laughing at me! I really don't care........
