I'll give it to you Jeff. I take it you spotted the gold letters to get the year. It's a 314H with a whopping 122 hours on it. Everything about it reflects those hours. I think it's safe to say there aren't too many left with those hours and this clean. It was used to push snow only and has never had a mower deck on it. Everything about it is as about like new as I've seen for a long time. The seat does have a tear in it and critical eyes will spot some discoloration on the edges of the wheels and a very small ding on the rear fender. Being in this condition I'm not going to be able to leave them alone. This is the first hydro I've driven since just after the blizzard of 78. I'm thinking this one will get the snowblade and the blower will go on the 05 8 speed. This pretty much checks all the boxes for what I was looking for.

Case Ingersoll Tractors Having a desire to add garden tractors to their line of farm and industrial equipment J.I. Case had some choices to make. They could design and manufacture their own garden tractor from scratch, they could have them made by an outside company branded with the Case name or they could buy an existing garden tractor company and make it their own brand. The decision was made in 1964 to buy the fledgling Colt Garden Tractor company because of its revolutionary patented hydraulic drive system. Production began with the 1965 Case 130 and 180. Both were powered with the reliable Kohler engine with 10 and 12 HP respectively. The 130 Lo Profile model came with 12" rear rims and the big wheel 180 model came with 16" rear rims. The Colt tractors remained in production through 1965 and 1966. Other Case models sold between 1965 and 1969 were the 120, 150, 155, 190, and 195. All had the famous chrome Old Abe badge on the grille and Desert Sunset and Flambeau Red paint used by the Agricultural Division of J.I. Case. As Case agricultural tractor colors changed the Garden tractor division followed suit. In 1969 Case introduced the all-new 200 and 400 series. The tractors were completely restyled and painted Desert Sunset with Power Red like the newly introduced 70 Series Agricultural tractors. The new 200 and 400 Series tractors used a much stronger trans-axle and cast steel front axle as well as a much stronger main frame. A lower priced entry level garden tractor was added to the Case line in 1973. The model 210 was powered by a ten horsepower Kohler engine driving a Peerless four speed transaxle. Case sold the garden tractor division to Ingersol Tractor Company in 1983. Badging of the Ingersol tractor remained Case in 1984 and the only change was a black frame for that year. By 1987 the Case name was no longer used on the Ingersol tractor. In 1989 the Ingersoll 3000 and 4000 tractors literally turned in a new direction, the position of the engine was changed from the flywheel facing forward to the engine PTO facing forward resulting the use of right-hand discharge mowers and the relocation of the oil cooler. The later Model 3100 and 4100 series used all hydraulic drive for mower decks and snow casters rather than “V” belts and power steering could be ordered on AH models.

The horses ( 1276 , Lawn Ranger , Commandoo 8 , 212-6 ) that were located at another property are now back in my barn . After setting for three years the 1276 and the Lawn Ranger fired right up without hesitation . I have to say this little Tecumseh always has fired by the third pull . Knock on wood ! .

When I read the posts and see pics that members share, the machines are tools, big boy toys, hobbies, therapies and possibly more. When I see kids and grand kids in posts, I see the tractors as memory makers. I grew up and spent most of my adult life in the mother land of the big green tractor company. Wheel Horses are hard to find in this area. There is intense loyalty to both green full-size tractors and garden tractors. My first garden tractors are green. About 15-years ago I developed an interest in Wheel Horses. I now have four. The tractor that I have owned the longest is a green model 314 with Kohler K-series and hydro. It has been my memory maker so far. When my daughters were elementary school age, I'd pull them on their sled on our side street. It was good safe fun. When their elementary school parent group had fall festivals, I would use this tractor and another to pull mini hayracks around the school yard. As the daughters got older, I had them drive it in the backyard to build skill and prepare for driving a car. When they were in high school marching band, I'd use my tractors to transport visiting bands' stationery percussion instruments from the staging area to the performing field. It was fun for me while supporting our host high school. Now that I have high-school and junior high school aged grandchildren who live locally, my next mission is to find opportunities for my tractors, including my Wheel Horse 416-8. One thing is to come up with a float entry in local parades with the 416 as a tow vehicle. I have an Aluma aluminum garden trailer which is a novelty itself. I want both my 416 and green garden tractors to create memories for my grandchildren and their friends. I encourage members here to reflect on what memories they are creating with their tractors and share them.

Memories and tools to build on. I was so lucky to have a father that really never discouraged anything. Had an old mower that would not run, dig into it he would say, see what you can find. Then he would help. I used the same reinforcement for my kids. I give the old man credit, sometimes it was tough and I was hoping they didn't make matters worse. But our youth, and for the matter people, just want a chance. Now it is the grand kids turn. TJ was 7 at the 2019 show I going to ride even if it is raining! I trailed him and he ran that thing till there was no more fuel!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/videos/ce5ln6k62pxo Goodness me! When I was five years old this was the cost of running a private car for one year. I can recall my granddad complaining when 4 star went up to 50 pence per gallon, it now stands at around £6.90. Back then it cost ten pounds a week to run your car, now it's around £74.00. Look at inflation and your ten pounds in 1970 would now be £132.00. So it has gotten cheaper to run a car! Great Scott! Who would've thunk it?

A road is always a success when you get to meet another member. Jeff @jtthiel and his wife are super folks and it was a big pleasure to meet them. Worth the drive in itself. @953 nut Richard, you're safe for now. @ACman Jeff, you too. Obviously the Buckeyes border control slept in this morning. I escaped unscathed. Any guesses before I spill the beans? There's an obvious clue.

I had the "pleasure" of helping a friend restore a 444 Case. Not too difficult of a machine to work on but....If you ever decide to do a resto on one, I have a suggestion. Buy a kiddie pool and put the tractor inside of it before you start pulling it apart, because every bolt that you remove will be followed by oil or hydraulic fluid dripping or pouring out.

My own beginnings with Garden Tractors go back to my maternal "Grammy and Grampa". The local dealer to them was IHC Cub Cadet equipment. They had a yellow and white tractor back in the 70s and traded that in for a red Cub Cadet (682,782?) around 1980. My own history with Wheelhorse in particular goes back only to fall 2016. Trina and I needed a physically heavier machine for pulling heavy stuff. Sooooooooo many usages and at least 20+ Tractors have gone through our shop since. Nowadays we consider our Wheelhorses and implements to be a permanent part of our tool set for our lives. Memories? Many! Some challenging. ALL good.

That axle pin can move up and down based on the angle of the axle. Try lifting the tractor frame off the ground a little. We always install those while the axle has NO weight on it. Wheels on or off doesn't matter but the axle is hanging in the air. Put the axle pin in its hole FIRST. Then line up the holes of the frame.

I used to use my '72 C10 as my daily driver to the plant. Another guy had a beater Mustang that he drove. Both of us took some grief about our chosen vehicles. One day, another guy came in with a brand new Santa Fe suv. He took to parking way out in the parking lot where nobody else did. The guy with the beater Mustang and I started to park right next to him. His reaction and annoyance with us was worth some chuckles.

In the fall of 1994, I paid--- at auction in n/w PA ---$2700 for a 1991 S-10 Pickup with 4.3 engine, Auto trans, 2WD, and is a long bed (7-1/2'). The odometer quit at 198,332 about 3 years back but the speedo is good. A/C quit -so what. I've been driving it for 30 YEARS.... the S-10 is 33 YEARS old---and I'm a young 75. It's a keeper!

During my career at the big green tractor company, about 30-years ago at a company event I met a respected older employee who was a tool and die maker at one of the factories. I learned that his everyday vehicle was a 25-year-old or more pick up. He said that co-workers teased him about driving an older vehicle. His response was, "Anyone can have a new one. Not everyone can have an old one." That stuck with me. Richard on the East Coast of Iowa

Can't make the show this year Craig. Besides, this isn't going to be a trailer queen. It's made to work and work it will be doing. Well, after I give it a coat of wax.

@19richie66 was taught to mirror drive , very early , very glad of that , emphasize that to my grandkids , incredible today to see people just change lanes , cut off , regularly get into side swipes. looking forward , you have 4 different / with mirrors , views . another thing , today people are so preoccupied ,with diversions , I trust no one . spotted a black BMW coupe , coming hard , behind me , on a bridge , he was on the very outside breakdown lane , went by me , better part of 100 mph , almost hit the rear wheels of a trailer truck , in a drift . also use turn signals , what's that ? joey Chitwood crash show , pete

Thank you for all of the Happy Birthday wishes. We got together with several friends at my favorite smoke-house for some pulled pork and peach cobbler last night. Good food and close friends, can't ask for more than that. Each of these friends went out of their way to help my wife and I when I came home from the hospital and have made the past year a good one for me.

Made the basic frame up today. Still got a bunch of gussets and such to add, but this will be the backbone. The pivot uses a 3/4 hardened bolt, and is made from 3/8 mild steel. I haven't attached it yet until I get the drop angle right. Probably going to shorten it by an inch or so as well. The back of the blade itself will have removable side plates for grading "box style" when needed.

Thanks to @WHX?? this 1267 went from WI to PA! Saw it on Facebook several months ago and asked Jim if he was closeby and he was indeed. After some intersting interactions with the seller it finally went to his house. I believe he started a thread on that. Anyway, he took it to pullstarts plowday and I went out to get at his place in michigan. I'm super pumped to have this sweet machine in my collection! Chaged all the fluids tonight. Good thing too cause the crankcase was full of gas! It was probably because of a bad float jim fixed, but I rebuilt the fuel pump too for good measure.

Solenoids are pretty generic. Just check if it’s self grounding or has a ground wire going to frame and get the same kind. You can get both about anywhere.

Someone here had a chart that explains how to read the Briggs numbers. Also, down load the service manual if you decide to keep it. I personally like twins. Very smooth. I can definitely feel the difference in my hands after an hour of mowing. I have two P216's a GT1642 that I gave my FIL and a GT 1800. The engine in the 1800 is currently out awaiting repair or replacement as it was making some strange noises at idle.
