We had our family Christmas Saturday evening. It was good to have the whole family together, especially for my niece’s first Christmas. Lots of fun, games, and good food. My little sisters have always had an interest in Scottish Highland cattle, and since my girlfriend raises Highlands we decided to take them to the farm for a Christmas photo shoot with some of the cows and a couple of my old Farmalls, much to the dismay of my die hard John Deere brother in law I think they turned out great, only bad part is now Courtney has the idea that we need to bring more people out for shoots with the cows

Hello all!! I am new to the Wheel Horse community. I recently purchased a 657. I am looking for any information on this model, such as the year and available accessories that may still be out there. Any information is greatly appreciated.

My wife has a Facebook account so I have access two Wheel Horse sites there though her account. I usually just go to see what is for sale and never post anything in the discussion sections. One thing I noticed there is the people can be downright nasty to one another. Once I see that, I’m out. I immediately think you won’t see that on Red Square, and if you do those people quickly get put in their place or removed from the site. This is why there’s only nice people here, and this is why it’s pretty much the only social media I’m interested taking part in. Remember the old Honda commercial? It said you meet the nicest people on a Honda. Well I’d like to say you meet the nicest people on Red Square!!! 👍🏻🙂

Maybe try using a file to get those flats the paws catch on a little deeper. It's already broke so nothing to loose while searching for a new cup

Do check the condition of the shifter boot - if worn or torn - replace it! The shifter acts like a wick in the rain - water goes right by it if it is bad and into the Unidrive... not good. There is no dipstick on yours, unlike the later Unidrives. You MAY be due for a fluid change anyway.. Manual explains MOST of it.... not all.

Get in line! Last weekend the grandkids spent the night and got fed store bought sausage because I’m out of deer sausage. They took a few bites and the 7 year old said “ this don’t taste like grandpa’s deer sausage, I’m not eating it.”

Doing a little post work maint/inspection. Got about 6" of heavy wet snow last night. Decided to take day off today to play clearing driveway. First thing is now I definitely need a 2stage. The single stage just kept clogging & it doesn't throw very far. My original hard turf tires are terrible, I was expecting that. Also, because of my back, definitely need a hydro- especially for the lift Gave up on C105 blower & broke out 654. Battery decided to die so had to jump it. It definitely pushed the wet snow pretty good. Tires are really good on it. Almost done & got it jammed in 2 gears. Gotten pretty at fixing that! Lol. I know there's an ultimate fix but transmissions are my kryptonite. Finally finished off with my 26" Toro 2stage walk behind. Made easy work of the snow. The power steering is a great thing!

I was told it wasn’t the original motor.. Yes it is the K181! S/n : 3055959

My new neighbor didn't move in yet, he is busy getting the property suitable for his lifestyle. One thing is to pull the electric submersible pump and replace it with a gasoline powered one that is connected with a flexshaft. Along with removing all wiring, he had two larger dump trucks of manure dumped on the front lawn just to make if feel more like home.

Blue motor might suggest a service replacement. Should have had a Tecumseh HH60 but you have a better engine. Most likely a later K181. Post a pic of the motor nameplate. Little brother to the 857 867 which is a fav by all here.

Welcome!! 657 - 6 is 6HP, 5 is electric start, 7 is the year (1967). A good worker of a tractor. You look pretty well set for winter - tractor, rear wheel weights with 4 link chains. Plow is a short frame 42" - not seeing the lever on the right to angle the blade.... getting on & off the tractor to angle the plow manualy gets old quick. Attachments - there is an interchange document near the top of the "Implements and Attachments" heading. Most items from 1961 thru 1972 or so fit. Even some of the later B and C series.... I replaced the too-far-gone 4 speed with an 8 speed from a 1979 C81 on my 854.... a shot from the angling lever side...

I have the same HF parts washer as @pfrederi and @Achto but I use the parts cleaning solution from Tractor Supply. It works great and you don't have to put up with the mineral sperits odor. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/crown-psc-1000-parts-cleaner-5-gal

So, just my opinion here. I have lived 27 miles (43 km) from Gettysburg all my life. Our family has been there so many times it's not funny. I just think of it as a spot on the map where we shop, go to the movie, and eat, however, for many it is a wonderful destination, filled with history, great activities, excellent restaurants and more. If your plan is to spend time in Gettysburg, I would book a hotel in Gettysburg, rather than one that's 25 miles away. The Big Show is only 8 miles from downtown Gettysburg. When going to Gettysburg, your first destination has to be the National Visitors Center. There you will find everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. The Cyclorama, a 360 degree oil painting depicting the battle is also housed there. For audio tours, they have many languages available. You can head out from there to places like the (President) Eisenhower Farm, battlefield tours, etc. One stop I would suggest is the Dobbin House Springhouse Tavern for lunch or dinner. It's like stepping into history.

Lucky for us it was a work from home day for Trina. She's usually prepared for most things anyway so we were pretty well set up. Just a matter of time now..... We really could use a slightly larger generator so I may have to get one of my vintage ones going.

The double d shaft and the tee handle bypass tow valve looks like Sundstrand #90-2062.

Would love to have a cam out of each and degree them out, the 20hp has GOT to be 'fatter'. .030 more lift on the intake sure isnt doing it. Whats interesting is Briggs did the same thing when stepping up to the big 46 incher- exactly .030 more intake lift. I have one of each of those, maybe need to spec em out just for the heck of it.

Yes, The sensor simply turns on a light when the air filter is clogged. You should never wait for the light to come on before cleaning the filter. Most of the 520s that I see have the sensor disconnected.

Just a guess here, but that axle looks wide....and looks like witness marks from longer hubs... And it appears to have gt-14 written in paint pen. Does it have the big keyways?

We have got almost 2" of rain over the last 24 hours and it is well above freezing out if it was colder and that was all snow it would have been terrible. I hope you get power back soon, it's crazy how much we depend on it now.

I don't think you are wrong Don but I might be full of $hi! too. Looks to be late 60s on up that used the fan cast with the pully. Either that or it's gonna be pre late 68 before they went to 5/8 belt on the Raider. Then it would have the aluminum fan.

@WHX?? Get one of them fancy plastic water containers , keep the fire low under it so it doesn't melt. Then you can bathe before going in the house. messing with you is almost as much fun as messing with @squonk

I use the same thing I did in 1968 when I started in auto mechanics- A galvanized foot tub in a welded stand filled with mineral spirits, We used Varsol in the bucket back in the day.

Whaaatt!!! How do you survive living without running water. Do you have running water in the house? If yes, there's your answer. Move the shop into the house.
