9 pointsI struggle every day because every day is a struggle, then I think of all the great friends and family I have that check in on me often. When they say call me anytime and mean it, the members on this forum that I have met that have driven hours to help me put a head gasket on my C160 because something that easy is now not easy for me. A close friend that works sixty hours a week but still makes time to put my pallets in my shed, loads my Wheeler up, takes me deer hunting, guts my deer, bones it out, then ask me what day do you want to go next week. My younger sister that just now checked in on me, my brothers that check in on me often, everyone every where I go people I don't know see me struggle and offer help. This thing called MS. ( MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS ) sure has done a number on me, but as bad as it is it has also shown me how fortunate I am, how blessed I am. God bless America. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

8 pointsThankful for my health…had a few issues this year, but I’m still here and it looks like I’ll be around for quite a bit longer. Thankful that my wife, after being told she was loosing her job, was offered another one and she won’t miss any time. Thankful that this April I will get the official title of Grandfather to a little girl! And on a silly note…thankful that I’m a WH guy and not a John Deere guy! Working on a JD 212 and it’s an absolute nightmare to get access to anything! Hope you all have a good day with family

8 pointsNone of us live in a perfect world but with the love of friends and family life's difficulties are minor compared to the blessing God has provided all of us. I am more thankful for the ability I have left than I had ever been before. If people who have the privilege of living in freedom and have a roof over their head and food on the table don't feel thankful there is something wrong with them. OK, I will get down from the Soap Box now and enjoy the parade on TV and eat a ridiculous amount of food! Happy Thanksgiving to all.

8 pointsWhen things get as depressing as life can be (or has been for a long stretch if you watch the news), I'm thankful for my family, my friends, and that I live in a country that still lets me complain or try to make things better. I thank God for the blessings in my life, and pray that each of you and your families have a great Thanksgiving! Remember- stretchy pants are absolutely allowed tomorrow! Crocs optional...

7 pointsHappy to have such a big family, kids and nieces and nephews! Two twin boys were welcomed into the family last weekend, Leighton is a big sister yet again! Tomorrow we are volunteering at the local homeless shelter, serving food all day. Happy Thanksgiving to all my tractor buddies!

7 pointsMy next-door neighbor and his mother enjoy beer a lot so I set up 55-gallon drums by the fence and he fills them about every two months 6 barrels are full and I haul to the aluminum scrapper and return with about $30.00 or so. I check everything for aluminum, brass, copper. last week I hauled load to the same place $194.00 in in my pocket. Yellow brass $1.80 per pound, # 2 copper $3.00 a pound, copper wire with insulation (plastic/ rubber) $0.40 per pound and clean scrap aluminum $0.40 per pound. All the steel goes to a disabled vet I met at the VA. I give him a call and he and his helper come by, and I help load.

7 pointsI know just about everyone has challenges, and it's no surprise that sometimes it is difficult to feel thankful. But I think just about anyone can find things to be thankful for. First thing that comes to mind for me, is being in this great country. Yeah, there's plenty to complain about here if you want to, but just think what it would be like to be in Gaza or Israel right now, or many other parts of the world that are suffering. In our house, we reflect on a few things we are grateful for every evening around the dinner table. Tomorrow is an extra special day for that. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving with people you love.

I'm especially thankful that the Good Lord lets me wake up everyday, for my life especially at this point with what I'm going through right now, my family and friends, that we live in a free country, and this great forum. Happy Thanksgiving to everybody and your families! Don't eat too much!

5 pointsWe have a scrapper that runs his route the night before garbage collection… he has picked up plenty of scrap from my curb over the years. Either that, or I take it to the dump… they have an area for scrap metal, tires, batteries, appliances, electronics, etc. Last time I went, I was taking the old garage door-since most of my trailer load was metal, I dumped for free.
-
5 pointsAbout twice a year I take a small load of scrap, usually some steel, aluminum and copper. At the farm I have several trailer loads I need to clean up one of these days. In Texas the first time you sell scrap you have to have an ID like a drivers license. You get your picture taken and receive a Texas Recyclers License. The scrap yards will not buy from you without one. Everything you sell (steel, copper, aluminum, etc, is recorded under this license by weight . This helps them track illegal sales, mainly of copper and aluminum.
-
5 pointsI give my scrap metal to a small time scrapper. He collects truck and trailer loads and sells it down in Chelsea Ma. I like supporting him because I can get rid of my metal. It is getting very hard to get rid of anything in the Peoples Republic of Eastern Massachusetts.

5 pointsBack on all fours. Engine turns over!! Needs minor finishing up and hood put on. Hopefully add gas and drive it around!!
-
4 pointsI'm pretty sure that came with the route 96 guarantee. Meaning it was guaranteed to hit route 96. Heck it went many many miles beyond that.
-
4 pointsThank you @Darb1964 for post number 4. It is so good to hear someone express their thankfulness and gratitude even in times of trouble. I hope that I portray that feeling to my family and friends also. There is ALWAYS something to be thankful for. We live in a place and time where we can gather with friends and family and gorge ourselves until we can’t hold another bite, and I don’t take that for granted. Give thanks to the Lord !

4 pointsCouldn't get the steering tow out to set right so I made a new set of adjustable tie rods.
-
4 pointsHere's the smaller building that houses along of tools. This will become more of just storage. Not sure where I'm moving my reloading stuff to.
-
4 pointsOur 312-H was a bear to steer. When we had the spindles out preparing to mill the axle to accommodate thrust bearings, we discovered that the steering arm on one spindle was bent--quite a bit! We concluded that a PO must have hit something with one wheel as it created a substantial toe-out. We further realized that it’d be pretty easy to bang one wheel and not really notice the effect right away. Fixed spindle, added thrust bearings, and installed adjustable tie rods and the thing is vastly easier to steer.
-
4 pointsWheel Horse actually did weld some steering components wrong, anything is possible.

4 pointsWife - "You need to get rid of some tractors" Me - "Umm, OK. Consider it done" So as they say "Happy wife, Happy life" Today I loaded up 3 tractors that will be headed for the scrap yard tomorrow. Now don't get to excited gang!! No 's or parts will be harmed. Except for one half of a tranny case that is cracked. With these POS's going away, I should have room for more 's. Right??

3 pointsPull the tires towards each other and then push them apart, that is the amount of wear. Push hard to gather all of the play from wheel bearings, spindles and tie rod ends. I would think that the specifications call for some toe in, at least in the manuals I read. Having correct alignment will make for a better driving experience.

3 pointsMore than normal in fact. Our area is deer dense, so to speak. The flora and fauna is just about perfect for them 🦌🦌 We just don't take the time to hunt.
-
3 pointsthanks for all the insights -- i suppose for the couple dollars value of a mower deck i may as well take to town recycling center when i do my 2x per month drop off -- thanks for insights -- Darn, i thought i'd get a vacation week from the $ proceeds -- HAHA ! Actually, i was thinking 5-10 bucks if lucky.
-
3 pointsI am in CT and scrap every week. 5 cents a pound for what you have but if they do not know you you better have a ton if you want money. Otherwise they will take it for free. A mower deck maybe around $2
-
3 pointsif that is all you are hauling to the scrap yard , not worth the drive ( gasoline cost ). If you haul 500 pounds or more than you will get money.
