5 pointsDial-A-Hite ready to install. Dial-A-Hite body casting installed. I also removed fuel line clips from left side of tunnel as that won't work with the manual lift.

4 pointsHard to believe that RedSquare turns 17 years old today. Thank you to all the members, past current and future who have made this a one stop resource for everything Wheel Horse!

4 pointsI'm opening a completely different can here, but oh well. Online pricing has massively inflated the cost of these parts and tractors in general. Every time I've spoke with a seller, they reference a completely different item of the same brand and say "these things go for alot of money on Ebay" or whatever platform. As far as I'm concerned, Ebay and American Pickers almost destroyed the hobby. I see rusty broken down machines listed for more than I've paid for all of mine combined. I know inflation is a variable, but not to this extent.

4 pointsWe’re movin’ on….to greener pastures! After the some odd years of owning this, and still not touching it, I listed it for sale and received an offer $100 over asking price if I deliver it. Borrowed trailer, lots of finagling, it’s loaded, needs tied down, and tomorrow I’ll deliver it. Good riddance to my one and only John Deere.

4 pointsI purchased a set of Power King tires for the A-60 from GIGA tires and was pleased with the quality and service. I had priced similar tires from some Ebay sellers the offer "FREE SHIPPING" and found that the delivered price was about the same or less from GIGA. They are a good heavy duty tire and well priced. https://www.giga-tires.com/15-6.00-6/power-king-tires/turf/tirecode/LWW25

4 pointsI’m down hunting at the farm and my wife sends me pictures of this old guy that showed up in the back yard. He’s a real teaser standing between my gas grill and smoker😆

4 pointsHa. Supporter David. Anyways. I need to raise the nose and take 2" or width out of the hood. I think I'll cut a V and squeeze to match the 6 slot hood. I am not a bodt welder at all nor do I have a welder readily available. I may pop rivet and a kind utilitarian mad max look. 🤔

3 pointsCan anyone advise me where I might find a flywheel cover for my 1974 C160? If this is not the right section my apologies. I just acquired a 1974 C160 8-speed (kohler). Everything works great and I look forward to improving the appearance little by little. This forum has been a lot of fun to read. This is my first tractor of any type and was happy to pull the trigger because of all the great things I've read on here. I will post pics at some point.

3 pointsSame here… not much of a mechanic, but I learn more almost every time I wrench on something. I don’t have trouble with the parts, frames, and most things on the outside. It’s the internals of an engine that I lack experience in. I just removed the balance gears in the Kohler with the help of @kpinnc ( he did it ), and @Lee1977 . We also lapped the valves. When I got the Kohler K341 back home, I resurfaced the head and reinstalled with a new head gasket. Everyone here on the Redsquare is always willing to help. I have learned a ton about wrenching since I started collecting Wheel Horses and joined Redsquare… You will too ! Enjoy ! I plan on leaving the work clothes on this one and painting the wheels… I like that look.

3 pointsI've had enough negative experiences with these tarp garages that I took a vow (not a sworn solemn one though) that I would never buy one again. So far I have not, and hope I never do. That said, going with a top with a better warranty may not be such bad investment, and sometimes the budget only allows so much. Better than leaving stuff out in the weather, for sure, and they're pretty easy to move around if you want to.
-
3 pointsJust want to point out that this is a very important variable. Wheel width can change tire height considerably, and naturally the overall tire width at the sidewall.
-
3 pointsI bought a 1977 C-160 about a year ago. I’m going through it now giving it some needed attention. I also have a 1984 Work Horse GT-1600 and a 1994 520H that I refreshed. Looking forward to seeing pics… You can post a “wanted” ad in our classified’s as well as checking with the vendors already suggested. to !!!

3 pointsNot that I know of. Fake chickens got a ride on the 60 Suburban yard art tractor. Had to get them the heck off so I could clean the cedar leafs, spider webs and gypsy moth cocoons off so I could start mounting Christmas lights.

3 pointsThis was one of my thoughts. Shipping is never free, you are paying for it one way or another so there is that price adjustment. Then tack on Ebays cut of the sale and $55 dollar dip stick tube nets the seller $35 or so. Internet is not always the cheapest any more, the cost of shipping is starting to take it's toll. I find plenty of items at a brick & mortar store for the same or less cost.

3 pointsI run a wire wheel on mine, clean with brake clean and put a coat of clear enamel seem to work okay. that enamel drys pretty hard.

3 pointsOn my 75 C160 Automatic I have two custom headlights built with little flat inserts. Either @kpinnc or @Horse Newbie tossed that idea at me. Beside those on magnetic mounts I have two 4" round lamps. Those aim at the side angles while plowing. On the rear I have a 6-wide LED by Grote. I use two magnetic mount LED amber flashing lights as well. One mounted on each rear fender corner. I also have two ¾" red LED marker lights from a semi on the front of the frame at the sides. I put those on just for aesthetics in the first place and it turns out they add a fair amount of red light around the front axle area. Suffice it to say I have VERY good illumination!

3 pointsPaul to me it looks like keeper. I would clean then use marvel. I have had one like this [Sitting under a tree for years] before and it came out good or good enough. That will be a great winter project. I think you will find it is handy to have a big block 16 around. If this was mine I would NEVER sell it.

3 pointshi c-series don, yes, old straight blade speedcaster fisher plow. the pump is electric over hydraulic (cable operated) from an old international pickup a coworker was junking about 35 years ago. only thing i've had to do was replace the solenoid and one cable in almost 35 years. this past summer i had to replace the p/s pump and all the hydro-boost lines on my buddy's K30. he is 75 years old and cannot do mechanical work anymore. to get to his p/s pump i had to remove the belt driven snow plow pump. agreed very simple setup. i live by the KISS rule. (keep it simple stupid) i do not blame you for switching to ford to get a solid axle front end. i refurbished my K20 in 2001. right down to the frame and then built back up. took my friend and i 4 months. i bought the K20 brand new a couple months after getting out of the service when i was a young man. looking back, one of the best investments i ever made. glad you like it. regards mike

3 pointsI don't see anything wrong with the 1" axles. I'm hard on stuff and overload GTs and have never had an issue. Everyone raves about the 1 1/8 but rarely see damage to a 1" on regularly worked GTs.
-
3 pointsI’ve got the same setup as @AlexR but on my 502, since 2013-15 or so with the tri-ribs and 2017 or so on the 23x10.50-12s. Other than running small, they are perfect to me! The fronts are tubed and fluid filled. They are starting to look like they could afford a recharge. I haven’t put anything air or fluid in them since filling. The rears are air filled still and have never needed anything.

3 pointsI guess if RedSquare is 17, then @whchris must be about 34. It's funny how some high school projects get traction. The Wheel Horse Collectors Club (and picnic, later show) was the brainchild of high school student Jeff Kane and his father back in 1999.
-
3 pointsAlright I guess I will do the Deestone AG and tri rib run down. I have had these tires for 4-5 years now and they all still hold air haven't had any punctures or leaks. Rears are 23x10.5-12 4ply on 7" wide rims and yes they do run small.. quite small they really are only about 8 1/2" wide and 22 and maybe 1/4" high. I was aware they ran small which is why I went with the 10.5. It is a softer rubber and as you can see in the photos it's got some cuts in the rubber probably from dirt plowing. I had bought them on tires-easy.com and the current price is $77.03ea, however those are a load C 6ply. I am happy with them though they do provide the traction I need. Fronts are 4.00-8 4ply tri-ribs on 4" wide rims they are 16" tall and its 3 1/2" from outside rib to outside rib. They look great, provide the typical tri-rib traction when turning. I also bought them on tires-easy and they are currently $31.17ea on there.

3 pointsHAPPPPPY BIRTHDAAAAYYY I'm glad to be around! I can't even begin to tell you how much I've learned about tractors and all else. Made some friends and been some places I wouldn't have experienced without this site.

3 pointsFinished up a long overdue in depth servicing / upgrade on my 76 C120. Beyond the basic oil change, gear oil change , I added the heavy duty front spindle kit along with the matching rear wheels ( same as a 520 ) , new front and rear tires ( rears filled ) , new tie rods , replaced rear wheel bolts with studs and nuts , new axle seals , new set screws on the hubs, repainted the front section of the hood ( discolored from the heat ) and added heat reflective material to the inside , removed and sandblasted the original muffler ( usually about every 10 years ) and refinished with high temp paint , went thru the carb and rebuilt the fuel pump that was getting weak , changed out the fuel lines and added a filter , installed some non-corrosive hardware on the battery ( stainless and plastic ) , fixed / welded the all too common C-series steering tower crack at the lift arm , replaced the mule drive pulleys with the desirable early cast iron versions that have the replaceable bearings , replaced the 30 year old drive belt ( old one was still good but did it while I was in there , new clutch disc , replaced the bearings in the PTO , tightened , adjusted , shimmed, and bushed all the linkages and steering , and added LED bulbs up front . This tractor was my first Wheel Horse ( and will be the last one to go when that time comes ) and we restored it back in 1992- 93 . It has plowed snow / dirt with chains on it , hauled everything I needed it to , and has been my everyday grass cutter the whole time. Other than basic service this should get me another 30 years......I wish I had taken pictures of it before it was restored because it was really bad - blown engine, sat outside for years, surface rust on everything , original deck was rotted to pieces, but the price was right....FREE!
-
2 pointsYou know you take apart, build, wreck, rebuild etc you end up with some extra parts. I was poking around and seems some of this stuff is worth more than I think it is. Guess im still stuck in 1990 prices. I wish I had the room to store this stuff but unfortunately im extremely limited on space. No real point to this post other than stuff cost more than it used to. That hydro pump caught my eye as it used to be I had to practically give away hydro units.

2 pointsHorse Newbie, my 74" looks similar in condition to that 77'. I'll be using this machine as intended but intend to go through it. I'm not much of a mechanic but enjoy tinkering.
-
2 pointsI always correct them. Nope here's the sold of that model over the 90 days. Some people are so far off I don't even bother. Internet in general has hurt the hobby just like its hurt everything else in life. I still run up on a local deal from time to time but it isn't often these days.

2 pointsMy Thoughts exactly. I would think a 1" shaft could take what a 20 HP engine could dish out. If I somehow managed to break it I'm sure I could repair it or find another transmission.
