Not really an original or double and I am into customs more than restro's. Since it is close to Veterans Day, I can throw this tribute up for you all to look at. Yes....it is wheel horse under that jeep body.

I've probably just been lucky, but that system on my Bronco is still going strong. The only time it ever gave any problem was when the little wire pulled off the single tab on the bottom. So far as an exhaust, I didn't go with the factory setup. At least not for a 1971 model. I used the exhaust for a 1985 and up, and couldn't be happier. Gets the muffler out from under the hood. My engine runs cooler, and there is no concern with burning the paint off of the hood. Just something to think about...

The RJ plow is a good snow mover. I used from 1961 and have a pretty good understanding of the plow. The surface of the Original RJ plow is more curved than the later Wheel Horse plows. It turns the snow when the tractor is moving more than just pushing it. I grew up in Gary, Indiana hand winters were cold with heavy snow coming out of Chicago/Lake Michigan etc. We did use chains but we had a gravel driveway. The front weight should help as my dad made a box that attached to the frame and it was stuffed with steel chains. Yes you have to get off the tractor to change the pivot on the plow but that’s ok. The rear motor acts as your heater on the RJ . I picked this plow up in New Hampshire last month from Mark Godzik. I have another that I have used for several years but this one was hardly used. If you get to the snow when you have five or six inches on the ground it will do the job of removing snd just keep at it as it snows! Just as the old photos show the RJ snowplow/dozer blade is still a very viable attachment for removing snow. My brother and I took a picture in April of 1961 on our first Wheel Horse RJ.

if the hole is already 3/8", a Helicoil would not work. Here is one idea. Thread a grade 5 or less 3/8" allen bolt into the hole and tighten it down. Use some green Loctite sleeve retainer to make sure it is a permanent fixture. Let it dry over night. I suggest an allen bolt because I don't think there will be enough room to tighten down a 9/16" head on a regular bolt. After the Loctite has dried drill a new hole through the bolt and tap it 1/4-20. After you tap the hole, grind the head off from the allen bolt. Should be a permanent fix. No guarantee but should work.

Have a few parts hanging up letting the paint dry before installation.

Starting to get the new to me RJ snowplow on our old RJ tractor. I will be using this for my winter driveway snow plow!

@ebinmaine I recommend using an E-Z Lok threaded insert. The 1/4-20 internally threaded thin wall insert has an external thread of 3/8-16 and the standard wall insert has an external thread of 7/16-14. Then use a 1/4-20 X 3/4 long dog point set screw for the shifter.

I have done this numerous times with garage sale junk Craftsman buys... no questions asked at Lowe's. Last time i took two 3/8 socket wrenches in about 3 months ago and they didn't have the same handle size in stock so they gave me longer handle more expensive ones... no issues.

I took a junk ratchet to Lowe's and they didn't bat an eye. Just gave me another one as close to the model I had as possible.

My suggestion would be to silver solder (hard solder) the hole to a slightly smaller size, drill it out to 13/64" and tap to 1/4-20. The threads don't have to withstand a great deal of force so the silver solder threads will hold fine.

Drill, tap, use next size up bolt?

@Wheel Horse 3D and I just had an offline discuss that covered this. We concluded that filling one of his correctly-scaled printed tombstones would contain ~40 lbs of lead shot. We also think that there would have to be some internal reinforcement added to the all-plastic “handle” at the base. This would be insurance for the tractor driving over rough ground and shaking things!

It's around 1956 or 1957. If you notice, he has converted it to a "ride-a-way" using my wagon and a camp stool.

I checked the trail cam that I put on the scrape. As I expected, the buck is there at night. I can see this corner of the woods from the house and never see him in the daylight. The camera time is 12 hours off. He was there at 8:13PM. This is the 5 point I passed up early in the bow season. The coon and fox are also interested in the stinky scrape.

Yep, a few weeks ago I started digging up my drainfield for the septic tank as the tank was not draining and was overflowing out the top and smelling bad.. Found several collapsed sections and kept digging until I found good pipe. Installed around 12' of perforated drain pipe and back filled with gravel then sand then top soil and planted grass seed. Within a week or two the grass grew to the point that you can't tell where I dug it up and the yard smells nice now. Yay.

New concrete drive here too... plow 3 flat concrete drives with my C 105 and now my E 141. No chains. Do fine. Just added 200 lbs to the C 105 to see if i notice any difference... A lot of chat on here about weight so i figured i'll try with free trash pick weights... I will post my impressions after we get some good ole Michigan slop...

They are… if the air brakes are working properly and adjusted properly then they should lock up when the loose air supply(ie. coming loose from the tractor). When I worked in the Field Operations Division at work, one day a CDL driver parked his truck-trailer… pulled the yellow and red knobs on the dash, got out, locking the doors as he did. The rig started rolling down a slight incline. It stopped when it smashed a brand new F-150… He chased it tying to get back in the cab, but the doors were locked and he couldn’t get to his keys fast enough. The brakes worked as designed, but they were out of adjustment, so when the knobs were pulled cutting the air supply, the brake shoes did not engage the drums. ALWAYS USE WHEEL CHOCKS WITH AIR BRAKE EQUIPPED VEHICLES .

Before I used JB weld, I'd have a nut brazed on. It would outlast JB weld, and be quite a bit stronger.

And that is why both steel and sand molds are preheated to drive out moisture prior to casting.......

Years ago I cast my own scuba diving weights. In those days I was always looking at the edge of the road as I biked by and picked up the wheel balance weights that fell off of cars. I did this process on the kitchen stove using an aluminum pot. Today I would do it outside with a fan plowing the fumes away from me. If you do attempt this be sure not to stand over the molten metal and let any sweat drip in it. A dangerous explosion of molten lead would result.

Fumes /health concerns? Maybe using shot and filling one of @Wheel Horse 3D's printed weights?

I have a set of the rubber chains I use when I place my snow plow on my Wheel Horse B-80 tractor. They do grip great and they do limit scratches, gouges and chips on concrete.

Funny thing about this I bought wife's car from this dealer in 2017 .guy I work with used to be salesman there he knew the family that owns the dealership personally and he was able to get me a deal 22k chevy cruise for 13k out the door .so I know the dealer owner and I dealt directly with him on this truck purchase got free 5 year full factory extended warranty free 5 year tire and wheel coverage no deductible to replace free zebart diamond coat paint and interior 5 years plus was listed for 45k paid 43k for truck

I like option "C". Make a bracket out of some 12 or 10ga, can be welded or bolted. Might be able to hide it enough so that it is not noticeable. Maybe trim the bottom of the tower and tuck the bracket in the inside, floor mat will cover what is on the floor?

I kinda agree w/kpinnc. My tractors don't have to be 100% correct although I do appreciate ones that are. The 8sp modification on my 753 can always be changed back with little effort. The 8sp definitely makes tractor more versatile if I were ever to use it. When I 1st saw all the tractors Buckeyes had (ended up buying 3 from him) I liked the 753 because it was "different" yet still looks like it was factory.

Looking at the photo of Bob's dad makes me wonder what OSHA would think about sitting on a folding stool in a Little red wagon.

I recently took this picture. Mostly but there is my wife’s Panzer, an Allis Chalmers CA and there’s an AC WD45 as well. I mow with a 2018 Scag 52” zero turn, and there is a JD 1010 backhoe loader outside. I am not sure if I’ll ever do anything with that, it’s got a lot going on.

I have walked away from several dealers that gave me monthly payment figures, I never asked them about payments. Just give me the out the door price and no BS.
