10 pointsHey everyone. Last weekend I got invited by a friend to their plow day, and he loaned me his 1963 953 with plow to take for the day. I had a blast and figured it would be a good time to film and launch my garden tractor YouTube channel. If you'd like the see the 953 (and some Cubs and Sears tractors) do some field world, here's the link - Hi

10 pointsor do you mean the ones the wife knows about! 1965 Case 180, fun to drive with the hydraulic drive. Keeping it original 1965 Case 130 - Project, I've stolen items from it to make my Case 180 complete and driveable. Would like to find parts to restore it 1959 David bradley Suburban 4 wheel tractor, fun to drive with the individual rear turning brakes, keeping it original. 1949-52 Mayrath, runs, gradually repairing some items, keeping it original 2003 John Deere LT 150, my weekly mower until it wears out (soon) 1967 John Deere 110 Round Fender - Project, needs a transmission. 1967 Panzer T75 runs and drives, but its a real smoker! This restored one is not mine. But my wife saw it at the Temple Show this year and said I need to get mine restored for her. 1965 Massey Ferguson Executive - runs with a Tecumseh, should have a Kohler k181 19?? Porter Cable - Project I now have a rebuildable spare transmission for it. A (free) 1962 Cub Cadet original - Project needs an engine and has a cracked frame. It is serial number 9889, first production run. After the 1st 10,000 production run, they slightly changed several items to make it easier to build and for the dealers to maintain. 2 (scrap yard find) Ford LGT 165's that need a lot to be complete, but I could not let them be recycled. 196? White Oliver 2-44 Industrial Loader Backhoe, my worker at the family farm

6 pointsA little over two years ago we purchased a new EZGO from GT Carts in Monticello. Their price is the first thing that caught our eye and they have a great reputation. Dealing with them was definitely enjoyable as well. Down to earth, easy going (pun intended) folks. That was our only contact with them at the time. Fast forward to a couple weeks go. We don't play golf and only use the cart for light chores and riding the paths on our property. We rarely go after dark so the headlights were seldomly used. A couple weekends ago our granddaughter was staying with us. It was warm outside and she asked if we'd take her for a ride. Grandma took her while I stayed in the house. She was only gone a few minutes when I heard her parking it in the garage. I asked her why she was back already and she said it was too spooky for Ilyssa and she wanted to come back. The headlights were about worthless. So I took it for a quick spin and she was right, At best maybe dim light out to about 10'. The next day I hit up Ebay and found some LED replacements. They came quickly and when I got one installed this was the difference. When I removed the left headlight assembly this is what I found. There was a locking ring but it wasn't in place and the bulb had come loose and melted itself into the housing. I didn't know about the damage but I don't think it really affected the light output when I took the above picture. Since I was using LEDS (minimal heat) I could have just repaired the hole but there was too much damage where the bulb socket goes. So I called Matt at GT Carts and told him what happened. All I needed was the one piece of the headlight assembly. He said they have them and he'd take care of me. So I drove down there yesterday, gave the damaged part to Matt and he went upstairs to the parts department. He came down with a complete assembly, bezel, housing, pigtails etc. He handed it to me and he said no charge. How cool is that?! I told him that I understood why they have the reputation that they do. Got home and five minutes later it was installed with the new LED instead of the incandescent. Took it for a ride last night and this is the result. + That's what 4000 lumens of 6000k light does. No more spooky!!! This is more about a shout out for GT Carts. They have grown rapidly over a few short years and I suspect I know why. Monticello is about a 50 mile drive and well worth the trip. They also have a place in Cicero. It a good feeling to know that there are still a few companies out there that care about their customers after they get the sale.

6 pointsAhhh ....That's why Bill likes the truck axle ... case it's a HEAVY date ...
-
5 pointsYep that's a #40. Thanks ... looks like yours has the same adjustments for setting the tension. One loosens the three axle supports and the axle pivots to the rear to set the tension. Since yours has never saw power till you owned it keep an eye on it after a few train pulls. They wear or stretch the most when new and seat into the sprockets. Richard's got a brand new one today. Sprockets looked to be in good shape. No hooked or bent teeth. Rims blasted, primed & half painted. Ran out of off white... now why did Dan put a empty can of paint back in the paint locker!?!?
-
5 pointsWell heres the final product for the rims. More upgrades coming soon.

5 pointsI've got a 1948 8N. Currently in storage, but soon to be put to work on our property in Ky. Will be used for grading, dragging stuff around, and a bit of bush hogging.
-
5 pointsI have a Panzer T65 and a 20" Bobcat push mower and a Craftsman that's a dedicated leaf vacuum
-
5 pointsTracked the tire thief down and got things right. God bless the 2nd amendment... One tube had slime in it ... lordy what a mess. One front had the really cheap wheel barrow bearings in it. Not Richard they is getting all new bearings. Couldn't sleep at nite otherwise. I like to pick the inner seal out and greasy pete them and put the seal back in. Lemme know what you prefer. The five inch rims do have zerks. The rears have three inch keys that are all busted up. They will get replaced.
-
4 pointsSorry to see Mark but it's just brick and mortar and can be replaced. Bright side is nobody got hurt or worse.
-
4 pointsI will only leave non-PTO equipment & Non Hydraulic outside (i.e., cultivator, Disc, earth plow, etc.), but no tractor will ever sit outside. But Just about every machine in my collection, except for the Rear engine riders, Sabre lawn tractor, and Cub Original, does get used yearly. Those 4 machines our my dust collectors. I couldn't have as many dust collectors as you

4 pointsBest guess, Simplicity Model FB. Could be the Montomery Wards version too.
-
4 pointsThe #40 and #41 links are the same spacing from roller to roller. The spacing between the side plates at the roller is 0.25" for #41 chain and 0.3215 for #40 and the side plates are thicker on the #40 chain. #40 chain can be used on #40 or #41 sprockets but #41 chain may be too narrow for a #40 sprocket. See the photo Jim @WHX?? posted earlier. #41 on top and #40 below. Looking at your photo I'm thinking #40 was used.

-
4 pointsYou mean the one's we are willing to talk about??? A not yet reassembled 1994 Craftsman ll "Steering Express" Four wheel steering, 42" deck with bagger.
-
4 pointsNot counting the Herd of 13 Wheelhorses in various states of repair: We have a Snapper push mower. Ariens Commercial Grade Walk behind snowblower. Homemade "Monster" wood splitter. Many moons ago I had a mid-60s JD round fender. Really like the look of those. IHC Cub cadets that my grandfather owned are what got me into this in the first place. I don't have those but I still enjoy the make when I see them. Nowadays we are practical minded and we do use our machines quite a lot. Every make has their ups and downs. Wheelhorse is, from what I've seen, the easiest to build rebuild maintain repair etc. We have no plan to possess any other brand as far as whole tractors go.
-
4 pointsC120 and GT-14. My weekly mower is a JD LT-155. 200-2001? My property mower is a 1977 Yanmar YM-2000 with a 4' brush cutter I have a few David Bradley 2 wheel tractors. These do nearly all of the tilling/ground turning. I havent found anything more efficient. A handful of mixed use pull start. Mostly little antique tillers. I thought about rigging one to my horse however I am unable to make myself disassemble them.
-
4 pointsI have no problem with that Bill. Seniors & Panzers had them. What gets my goat is Pullstart left the key in the ignition...

Clik on your MODEL NUMBER...all sorts of schematics will pop up, giving you OEM part numbers for everything. As to the hub: this puller has never fialed me...make it from an old hub and nuts/bolts from any hardware.
-
4 pointsRight, one never knows the situation. Maybe a 12 year old kid without a father needed it to mow the lawn. Divorced mother can't afford to pay a repair shop to fix it Young man with no mechanical ability, tools or knowledge just needs it to work. Old man that can't do the things he used to be able to do Then there's always the "I don't give a Kr app". It only needs to work until I buy a new one Don't be too harsh on the butchers out there. Some have some pretty good ingenuity and are pretty resourceful. Not everyone has the skills, abilities, tools or the time to do a factory correct repair.
-
4 pointsMore here Richard. Charger out and on the bench for a cleaning, inspection and cordadectomy... Drive chain... rusted badly and more than one link won't turn. At least a dozen master links in it. Wrong chain to boot I suspect. What was on ther is a #41. Pretty sure it should be the more common to horses # 40. Huge difference In size. A 41 is more like a bicycle chain but same pitch as a 40. @SylvanLakeWH if you could confirm it should be a 40 that would be appreciated. IPL doesn't list the correct size but sprockets look to handle a 40 . Will be stamped on the side plates . #40 is used on all blowers and I have yards of it. 41 on top.
-
4 pointsGood deal Richard but hold your horses after tinkering today got some bad news and some worse news... well maybe a little good news too. Bad news is some hoodlums got into the shed last nite. Knew I shoulda checked on things when the dog was barking. Guess those tires n rims were worth something... Oh my I hate it when Dan is right! But looky here what I found in the mouse nest! The fuel gauge and retainer! I have no idea if it can be saved yet but ain't afraid to give it a shot. Seems the movement it stuck but it appears to be able to be taken apart and restored. Now for the worst news... I mentioned to Dan how the whole steering column was loose. Here's why... The back of the column support is rusted away and cracked. This will mean it has to go out to a job shop... meaning Dan's garage... for rework. He better at this stuff than I and he has a magic welder. He's gonna have to come over and help me get it apart tho.

4 pointsGot a little seat time and turn some dirt last night. Always a good time behind the wheel
-
3 pointsIf it was empty, I would have thrown it away. That can had just a very little bit left in it yet.
-
3 pointsYes they are. Don't fret about getting me any I have plenty. I buy bulk what with 20 horses to feed. I get good quality ones for less than 3 bucks a piece. Don't buy a pack of gaggers tomorrow their paid for. Lots of times Dan and I buy in bulk and split and save.
-
3 points@rmaynard Did some more research. The only brand that I can find with the flat sheet metal cover up the center of the handle bars is Montgomery Wards. All others seem to have open pipe from the frame all the way up.
-
3 pointsMy 753 has 8sp installed in it. I bought it from Buckeyes here on forum. He did the swap. It looks & works great. I like it so much that I considered doing the same thing to my 654.
-
3 pointsIf your that old farmer, or doing work for someone, there's no pay until the job is finished. Some times it's a long way back to the shop got fix it with what you have .

3 pointsThat plow, especially the mounting part, looks so much different than on my RJ?? Wish I had a front tombstone weight I do like that I have angle adjustment. Right foot pedal released pin the I push/pull handle to angle blade
-
3 pointsIMO, a foot controlled hydro is a must when moving snow in small tight driveways. In the 5-6 I clear, I use reverse as much as forward. It frees up both hands..one to steer with and one to operate the hydraulic lift.
-
3 pointsI sold two 1958/59 David Bradley suburbans. One I robbed parts from to restore the other. That was a mistake to sell. I may not come across another again. Very nice equipment indeed!
-
3 points@oliver2-44 thoes are some nice tractors i would like to have some of thoes. i like the case it looks nice i have been on the lookout for one, and i am going to get an origonal this weekend i have always wanted one. @SylvanLakeWH i was sking what other tractors you have that you have besides wheel horses. like jhon deeres, cubs ect...
-
3 pointsI don't have any seat time on anything with a foot control. But, I found I was needing 3 hands at times yesterday - steering wheel, motion control lever, and pulling the dump rope for the sweeper. Having a foot control would solve that.
-
3 pointsHey Bill, glad to see you're still crusin for chicks on your tractor. WH's are chick magnates right. Tom B in Ks
-
3 pointsI know... would be nice to open one up and just need minor cleaning. Last one the missus found me passed out & slumped over it with a wire brush in my mitt. It can be fixed!!! Dan's my transmission queen and has a bucket full of parts and betting others do too.
-
3 pointsHere is a link to one source for new rims. Important that the offset is correct, other wise they may rub on the inside. You can also get blanks & centers from here. This allows you to weld the center where you want to get the correct off set. https://www.millertire.com/wheels-rims/ One other option is to find 4 rims, cut them apart & weld them back together to get the width that you want. I took four 8.5" wide rims & made two 11" wide rims. Post #48 in this post shows some pictures.
