Miss you Jay! His show banner that came from Terry ( Vinyl Guy ) hangs in my shop and it will go back to the big show and be displayed as long as I go. Truly honored his brother gave that to me

Libby and me met Jay at The Big Show in 2022. He walked up and recognized me by the tractors I brought, either that, or at the Italian restaurant the night before… can’t remember… But regardless, it was like visiting with a long time friend. Jay made us, and for that matter, everyone made us feel welcome like we were regulars.. We had chicken dumplings dinner with him and his wife whatever afternoon it was. He affected our lives meeting him one time. Happy Birthday @roadapples May you forever rest easy my friend…

In front of the shed there's an enclosure for the chickens. Trina removes it every fall so we can plow snow easier. Here she's dragging the cage out with Millie. Then she graded the area smooth with the 867 Pigpen.

Some of you guys may remember a while back I got rims and tires for my tractor. Well I had a blowout pulling a big grain cart full of beans going down the Highway. So I had to stick turf tires back on it for a little while until I found this other for 416-8 that had ags on it then I put them on it. And then the other day I found a set of 26 12 12s on Marketplace and decide to go ahead and get them. So now I need to paint match the rims probably give the front rim an extra coat to match the Rears after I paint them

My new horse

I like the ingenuity but it needs to be much wider unless it's only blowing in straight lines. That far out front will leave the 1/2 the tractor out in the snow as it turns. It definitely has it's place depending upon the situation. I hand mine connected directly to the tractor as normal and used the FEL to lift and lower it. The FEL made it so quick and easy to install and disconnect that the bucket could still be used. Quick attach, belt and 1 pin. Connect the pin for the lift, lift the blower to easily snap into the quick attach and connect the belt. About 2 minutes on or off. I wanted down pressure instead of just using a lift chain so put a chain inside of pipes to allow for some float without the FEL weight on it but could also add the FEL weight for scraping ice/packed snow. A solid link could just use the float on the FEL but that's a lot weight all the time. Just a chain and no FEL down pressure on it

I have gotten 3 engines @richmondred01. 1 used and 2 re-built. 1 of which I sent my worn engine to him. I am in Upstate (Finger Lakes ) NY There are several members from the Virginia area and several members from the CT. area that go to the big show in PA. There is probably someone who can bring an engine to PA and someone else who can bring it from Pa to CT. "The Big Show Shuttle" If it can be brought to the show, even I could get it to NY which would be closer. Put an ad in the Hauling Help section of the forum

Took a ride on this RJ I have with the battery and 12 volt coil as a recoil boost starter! Previous owner could not find the correct magneto for the Kohler motor! The frost was on the grass this am too!

I didn't realize till I read this that today was Jays birthday. Kinda ironic as today was my day to pick up my load of horse manure for my garden. Of course, I was thinking of Roadapples all day. Rest easy my friend.

Made the winter change over. Put some mowers away and got the snow movers and wood hauler ready. Put the tiller on and tilled the garden.

The components are there. I prefer the filter on the return instead of the suction to the pump. If the pump gets starved it will burn up. But there are filters designed for the suction side. The single acting valve does limit it to a lift only type of situation and weight of whatever it's lifting is what's going to push the fluid back to lower it. So it's power in only one direction, no down pressure. The cylinder needs to be single acting as well. If you want multiple cylinders on a single valve there are selector valves available. Basically one valve can control 2 circuits but only one at a time by which ever way the selector valve is set. Just throwing that out there

Next step some day later will be a sliding table. So when the log splits and is two pieces but still to big, the pieces will be on a table attached to the pusher so when retracted it brings the pieces back for another reposition and split again.

Approximately 700-750 for complete engine rebuild. The rest I assume is his travel cost two round trips to deliver and pickup the engine. (Which I can see with gas, tolls and hotel if needed) fastenal to CT is about 125-150 one way) I now have several K301 and k321 and an Magum12 and 14 wheel horse spec engines that I will do a long block that includes the head and pan for 800-850 using one of my engines. Bore 85.00, grind crank 75.00 grind valve seats and ream new guides 45.00 that’s right at 200.00. New parts 165.00-250.00, labor 295.00. My labor cost of 295.00 hasn’t changed in 5 years.

richmondred01 and I have already spoken. I'm in CT he is in VA. Adding up his work and my travel expenses the cost would be approaching the $1200 mark. I am not an engine guy and though I could do it myself I have no interest. I will keep running it and check the oil. If I get more tractors I will be sleeping in the shed with them and the shed is already full.

Couple of interesting statistics from a local TV station. We live south of Fryeburg, close to pic center. Remember these are "averages". Our little town and the next one over actually gets the most annual precipitation of the whole state due to where we're located between the ocean and mountains. Some of our storms are more significant than the surrounding areas.

Totally agree with @WHX?? nice complete ones come along now and then for a fair price. Then all you have to do is hook it up and blow snow. I have one, it’s one of my favorite attachments. If the moisture content of the snow is just right it will blow snow up to the phone wires! Mine is on a 417-A.

I don't have a blower but use a blade that is swiveled by hydraulics. Angling of the blade worked best. My bucket it easy connect and use a trailer hitch square tube as a receiver for the blade when the bucket is removed.

Lift bar is made of unobtainium and would be a deal breaker if missing. Looked long and hard for one with no luck. Finally had a copy made. With the shape that one is in I would pass. Yes parts can be had but a pita. Better ones come along often.

Nice build! Would work nice getting rid of snowbanks, seems like it would be hard to see around it though.

Found a couple more noteworthy pictures from my past. There was a low spot in our side yard and each spring Dad would have a load of sand delivered. Over the summer my friends my brother and I would play with out toy trucks and tractors and by the end of summer we had it spread our for Dad. We also built some one of a kind projects, guess this was our attempt at a covored wagon.

Hey Buddy, about what you wondered? it‘s a non fizziblizzi Tracta why you wondered that it is still running give them fresh Oil fuel de clog all fuel lines and it will run. - why not No electronics and no garbage that could prevent a start of that Engine except the ignition ( points and coil) there is nothing more. But in the end it’s a honest gratification for you who did a lot of Work to save it. 👍
