14 pointsI went to shut my tractor off, removed the key, and noticed the engine was still running. A quick search on the site, and I found the ignition switch part #, and placed an order for the Stens switch with a well known jungle site. The tractor was up and running the next afternoon. Just a quick thank you for those keeping the site up and running.

11 pointsHey, you’re a supporter! Thank YOU for keeping this site up and running too!

10 pointsI told myself, hold off ! no more for now. The force was just too strong today. I just had to pick up this B-80 8 speeder. Non running and lots of patina -aka Rust ! What’s not to like ? First in line tomorrow morning is a good pressure washing then too see if this old girl will run.

10 pointsI'll never forget the guy who was at TSC and forgot the size of a needed belt. Whipped out his phone & posted here and in minutes was out the door with the correct belt.

5 pointsThank you very much for the information gentlemen. It’s always nice to get confirmation from the experts. Best part about it is I scored it at a small auction locally for $20! Also got an additional set of rear rims with turf tires for a dollar. Hoping to ‘rustore’ and eventually hit some meetups and shows. Thanks again. Bob.

4 pointsToday I gave it a good pressure wash.I think it cleaned up pretty well 👍 Brought it in and tore into it.Had no spark, cleaned up the points, issue solved. Replaced the head gasket, was blown out pretty bad but the cylinder looked great and no piston slop at all 😮 I think I may have gotten lucky on this one. It’s always a crap shoot with a non runner. I think the trans is ok but won’t know for sure until tomorrow once I get it running.

4 pointsThank you for the 'thank you'...... all too often we will have a long back/forth discussing/suggesting/ a problem for a poster ---- and never hear what the outcome was for the poster.......

4 pointsEB you know we don't read instructions! Most of us are in our second childhood. we like pictures. You should understand this, you never got out of the first one. You have to keep it simple our attention span is short. Pictures Needed "2" Wheel Horses Not One or More. See below

4 pointsAny idea what year? I have a '73 which is a no name but since a front runner to a B I call her Aunt B. Just had to give it a home for only a franklin... Yes Sir!
-
4 pointsHad an old buddy who said it best: if it's got any compression at all, it will run!
-
4 pointsAwesome! I bet a little soap and water wet sanding and that thing would have PURDY popping out of it everywhere! The one I’m sitting on, I wet sanded and buffed and it brought a ton of paint out of the rust that was on it.
-
3 pointsI polished another hood today. Not perfect, because it's 25 years of scrapes and dings. But still pretty awesome for 20 minutes worth...

3 pointsAfter @WheelHorse_Kid pulled a few weeks ago his older brother Aiden has shown a little more interest in tractors. For those who don’t know him Aiden was my right hand man in the garage for years til he hit those preteen/teen years. His world revolves around baseball and plays 3 outta 4 seasons and practices in the off season. So it’s nice to see him back out in the garage and hopefully gets re bit with the horse bug. This late gray 60’s hydro that they got in a package deal that they purchased last winter with all their own money was his goal. Well today he took it for its first spin under its own power. Not the correct motor but still looks to be the correct horsepower. He’s currently out there in the driveway working with Alex and they are taking the plow off. The previous owner did not have a plow bracket so he installed the rod into the hitch on the back and then cut a hole in the fender pan for the turning arm. It’s missing a belt guard but I think I have one kicking around. He says he wants to keep it gray. Someone did a great job of free handing the decal area and even on the plow itself.

3 pointsWe used the Wally Digger Backhoe FEL to move more stone into the erosion control project area by the right side of the Pole Barn. Nearing completion on that deal.

2 pointsMy Prayers for those people in Maine that are a part of this tradgety. I consider myself a small part Mainer from my days there in the Navy. I know the whole state is like a small, friendly community. The healing process for this will take a very long time. Just know that you are not alone...this stabs us all in the heart.

2 pointsNice of you but Lane can't count to two, BBT isn't going to be too pleased!

2 pointsThe one above is ‘76. Yours Looks very nice and in great shape. Bigger rear tires make all the difference in my opinion. They Ride better and look cool .👍

2 pointsHere’s one, if this is what you mean. This is a 16hp opposed Briggs… You can zoom in for a better view. It is a stamped piece of perforated metal with small holes about 1/8 th inch in diameter… I’ll see if I can find some better pics…

2 pointsCheck keyway at wheel hub to axle, transmission drive pulley to input shaft. Take a marker, put a line across hub across axle, try to move it and see if the line moved

2 pointsSame boat.. I live dangerously and ask about certain items that don't seem to get any use in the sewing room. Happens every time she questions stuff in the garage. No I don't use my scroll saw daily but when I need it... I need it.

2 points@JoeM Good to know about it sticking up a couple inches higher. Did you just cut the end off and re drill for the pin? Or cut section of shaft and weld? Did you notice a big difference in ease of steering?? Eric, I do have a 2 stage blower, but havent used it for a few years since the single stage does a good job and is much lighter. From your questions, it seems that itd be good on my 416 since i generally use it for mowing and bagging about once a month. This will likely be a winter project for me as i have 2- 12yr olds and a 14 yr old, so time is precious now. My 14 yr old shows some interest so ill have a helper.
