Picked these up today! Again thanks to Buckeyes for selling them to me. So that's 3 tractors I bought from him in the last month, including the RJ. How did I go from January of this year to buying my 1st Wheel Horse C105 to having 7 of them now???

Found this Early all original 1956 rj35 that was purchased new with three attachments . I’ve been working at bringing it back . I’ve been hunting for a few missing/ damaged pieces to the puzzle such as patina Schnacke , drive rod ,etc which will come with time . I plan to yank the motor reseal it as it does run excellent. The cleaning process will be tedious and slow, but worth it . Only one missing I’m my line up is a 1955 rj-35 which I hope to find someday.

I have a 30,000 BTU propane heater in my garage. Since I insulated and drywalled the inside, this heater has efficiently heated the garage with very little running time. Now I decided that I would buy one for the pole shed. Northern Tool has this 50,000 BTU version on sale. https://www.northerntool.com/products/mr-heater-big-maxx-natural-gas-garage-workshop-unit-heater-50-000-btu-lp-conversion-kit-model-f260550-27457 I'm not sure how long the sale is for, but I bought it for $379.99 less $20.00 coupon from RetailMeNot. FREE shipping.

Hmmm.... the OE parts can be pricey - to the tune of $128 for the pair on the 'Bay site. Used, unless they are next to free, are just another disappointment waiting to happen down the road........ Check out what Lowell has to offer - better quality, better price. Best ones use Heim joints on each end - myself and others here have made their own - some even make theirs with threaded rod and a hacksaw. There have been numerous posts about that..... Bill

I did not want to intrude on @uglyblue66's post. His Bonanza reminded me that Artic Cat dabbled in the lawn mower business for a while with their Grass Cat. This inspired me to wander off on the web to look up Grass Cat info. In my wandering I stumbled across one of the most corny commercials that I have seen. With advertising like this, I just can't see why the Grass Cat wasn't more popular.

It's definitely addicting. Agree about preservation of Americana. It's so unfortunate we don't build stuff like this anymore.

Beautiful tractors. How did you get seven tractors in one year? Because it’s addicting that’s how!! But it’s a great hobby that also helps preserve some Americana.

Gentlemen, Today I repaired the leaky plastic gas tank on the ‘69 Charger 12 by drilling out the old outlet, installing a bushing and shutoff valve, cutting the dash pan hole wider, and adding a fuel filter. I just acquired this tractor and am dedicating it to being my “mower” and will dedicate the ‘68 Charger 12 I have for “tractor stuff”. This ‘69 needs work, but thankfully mowing season is coming to an end so I can get this horse sorted out by spring time.

My 502 is my favorite, because it was my first mainly. It’s also an amazing worker, with all the modifications I’ve done to it. It’s a one pull wonder too!

Agree with the comments above. Lowell has quality ones at a good price, plus the ends are replaceable with common ball joints if the need should ever arise. https://wheelhorsepartsandmore.com/product/toro-wheel-horse-tie-rod-78-2900-78-290001-longer-length-with-replaceable-ends-with-nuts/

The RJ58 was the big hit for spectators this year at my local festivals here in Carroll County OH. the children loved getting their pictures sitting on it, then they discovered the bicycle horn under the steering wheel. It’s always a joy even in parades. Just love showing off part of my collection every year and hearing all the stories from those that had WH in their lives at one time. Can hardly wait to get to retirement so I can get some of my other models back to their glory in working order and be able to attend other shows/festivals throughout the year. My fellow tractor enthusiasts always know when a spectacular starts asking about WH, they point in my direction. I study up on the history of the different models and always intrigue those that didn’t know much about how WH came to be. This website is one place that has helped me learn so much about the WH history and I thank you for sharing your knowledge that I am able to pass on to keep WH alive and well.

My C-105 heard of such treatment and says: "Make them trailer queens sit outside!!!"
  17. 4 points
That's plan for next summer. I've got no more room for anything else! I actually had to cover up the C105 & put it outside until this Sunday when I can reorganize garage to make everything fit. Still need room to work out there

WOW, very nice tractors!!! If you do not already have one, you might as well start planning on a new building to put them in.

And only used it to cut grass on Sunday…

If I had to get rid of mine it I would keep my C-145 it’s a great tractor over all with a Eaton 1100 trans and hydraulic lift that makes it easier for me with all the attachments I have for it. It’s got plenty of power and gets the job done. IMG_3663.mov

Spent a good part of yesterday out in our woods playing chainsaw Jenga with a pile of tree tops the folks who logged the property before we got it left behind. Probably cut up a couple of face cords worth of wood. On the way back to our hotel after dinner, we came across a couple of women struggling with a flat tire. Stopped to help them. They had a folding cross type lug wrench, and a borrowed scissor jack from a compact car under a mid size SUV. The jack was too short and the folding lug wrench didn't provide enough leverage to break the lug nuts loose. I ended up getting the jack and lug wrench out of my Ram 1500 to do the job.

I like all my different colored tractors, each for its special reason. But….What can I say. @953 nut s herd just nails it for me. The big wheel 953,s and his rugged GT14 with loader. I guess it’s fun to drool about others tractors. Isn’t there some commandment about coveting thy neighbors goods!! Then again I have lots of favorites My C160 is certainly my favorite WH that I own The steam tractors massive size and musical sounds are just magical for me. The turquoise Panzers are my wife’s favorite. Of course my Oliver2-44 is just large tractor favorite. It’s just a lumbering brute of a worker and sips diesel

Let me think about that for a while, might ba the 953, but which one? I do have several other models of Wheel Horse Tractors and each has a place in my heart. Hate to make a "favorite" decision because they are all great.

I have an Empire 25,000 BTU Propane wall heater for now close to 20 years. I 've had to replace the thermopile about 10 years ago and the propane co. replaced the regulator last week. That's it. I only run it when I'm working out there or sometimes over night if I have a paint project going on. Served me well.

Sold a few of those when I was in the biz. And have one in my shop. I couldn't buy them wholesale for less than 500. & then a 100 LP kit. Couldn't make a margin on that but when people wanted me to install their big box one I did then.

For a stock style replacement it would be really hard to beat the ones from Lowell, Wheel Horse Parts and more. They are good quality and also adjustable so you can perfect the proper toe in. I agree with the heim joints. I've made a few sets and that's the way we will go on our tractors from now on.

1972 was a weird time. I bet those folks were at Woodstock?

@Brockport Bill & @Achto Gentleman, please be fair... 😎 it just needs a little bit declaration.... Ok how to start with..... lemme try so : You should remind please it was back in 1972 - Hippy and Flowerpower Timeline. 😎 I believe that could clear something - maybe - hopefully - 😂🥴🥳 The sadly you forgot in these day‘s . Most common sentence back in this time was „Don‘t walk over the Grass, Smoke it...“ So ... and now you be reinvited to rethink about that Colorscheme or better that advertising...😂😂 it was absolutely awesome .... absolutely 😂😂

It's the BBT'S birthday today so she was off work. Doing her usual not setting still stuff. I picked up a few things at an auction today. Some shelving. 3 ft wide, 18" deep, 7+ ft tall. 2 sets. Also got this work desk which I understand was used as a shipping counter. We got a refrigerator for the future Momma apartment downstairs too. Neat find here. This vise. Likely I'll start a thread to identify what it was built for. Only visible marking is: 4 GM We ended the day with a nice fire.

In the family are late 80’s 310-8, 312-H, and a 518/520 hybrid and they are terrific. I have a ’68 Lawn Ranger that is just so cute... But the one I won’t part with is the 854 I upgraded to a 6-speed LSD.

Generic honda tank. Not autr how big of tank I'll want. I assume bigger than this but this will at least get me started. On a side note I got some paint down. The body is really rough but I couldn't stand the orange. I feel WH need to be red.

Well after reading all your advice, talking to the estimator and some folks near my shop with metal roofing, I am going to go metal roofing. I am also going to go the furring strip route right over the shingles, several homes near my shop have gone this route and have been very happy with it. I will also be the easiest way for us as well. We will start with the little shed and work our way up for practice!! Really glad I bought the scaffolding now and the little shed is gonna get a lean-to while we are at it! Again, Thanks for all the help!!!! Randy

All the colors of the AG rainbow lol. i bought a "Cub Cadet/Yanmar" that is black and yellow. what i need is a Kubota and an old Ford so i can have orange and blue covered. I've noticed something with equipment- when it's painted green it's instantly worth more than it should be it's really weird.....

I only have room for and maintain 2 horses. I would take the C-120 all day over the GT-14. Both great. One is just way easier to wrench on and significantly more reliable.

Have had this truck for 16-17 years already. Bought it from 2nd owner he had done a complete tune up and couldn’t get it to run very good. 1,000 bucks and brought it home. The following week discovered the exhaust had a small section smashed almost completely shut. So dual exhaust it was and has ran great ever since. I was 16 so it was getting dual exhaust regardless lol so a win win
