23 pointsI bought this at the Temple Tractor Show Saturday. Had a full little trailer, so a friend and I went to pick it up today. Very excited with this tractor and got to spend 2+ hours wandering around 20/30 acres of antique cars, tractors, machinery, etc. The two old brothers sell parts, and restore Model A's, T's, and tractors when their not running goats on their old family ranch in the middle of no-where. The brothers were a wealth of knowledge, and super friendly. We Drooled like two kids in a Candy Store! Mayraths were built between 149-52. Reportedly about 500 were built. This is a Standard Model, The Deluxe Model had a sheet metal body. The Mayrath Co. built grain augers, so this has a rear PO that could power an auger and sickle mower. you could also get a front plow, rear plow and other implements for it. I have a video of it running and driving, but need a little Love. I need to learn how to create a Youtube account to post videos'. Grandson already claimed it! Serial #167 Briggs Model 14 engine, runs but needs a spring on the throttle/governor linkage. Found an identical Briggs Model 14 on a sheep shearing rig and got measurements on the governor spring I need. T92 transmission used on many old garden tractors such as Power Kings. Top speed reportedly 25-30MPH...WOW Dana gears in rear end. Very simple brakes, on each side. Ross Steering Box Steering tube was cut, probable for a repair sometime in its past. Very weldable. Now will the steering wheel carefully come off to fix it right! The engine is mounted on a hinged platform. The clutch pedal tilts the platform to slack the drive belt. A large spring keeps tension on holding the engine platform down. Everything is very simple on this tractor. This is a picture of the Deluxe Model with sheet metal This is a picture of a Basic model like mine, restored. My wife likes it painted up colorful like this. I'll gently clean it up and see how much original paint is really left. For now it will stay with the patina look and get the mechanicals fixed up. Here's a few of our other fun spottings for the day! @Pullstart could make this custom super short school bus body Maybe a Homolite garden tractor? Late 50's/early 60's Cadillac DeVille Fordson with and "Industrial conversion kit that gave it a wider/heavier front end and a heavy rear axle with a "pin" to move old semi trailers around, like a shipping yard tractor @ebinmaine Case tractor with a bucket wheel trencher and a front end loader 5 man sheep& goat sheering rig. There were a ton of Model T's and A's parts and carcasses. We were ask not to take pictures of the restored ones they had in buildings. They had a beautiful original condition Model T with a wood grain box bed. IMG_0282[1].MOV

9 pointsThank you everyone. All done just laying here recuperating for another 30 minutes. Quick . Only numbing the bone was a little painful since it’s done in a circle about six times. Sometimes the dentist is worse since you are looking at him and see what’s coming. Let’s see what results come out of this. Appointment next week.

8 pointsI have been undergoing testing for multiple myeloma (M Spike) for the past four years. Thankfully my numbers have been decreasing over the past year and the testing frequency is now once every six months. I had the bone marrow biopsy procedure done a couple of years ago, the whole process only took about fifteen minutes and was relatively painless until the moment they actually extracted the marrow specimen. It was an electric shock feeling but only lasted a couple of seconds. Once they had completed the procedure there was no pain at the test site. Dear Lord we place our fears and concerns in your healing hands. We place Cas under your care and humbly ask that you restore your servant to health again. We ask this in the name of your Son and our Savior, Jesus Christ. AMEN

6 pointsSo after getting checked every three months by the Hematologist for almost a year my blood tests keep getting funkier. Off I go tomorrow for a bone marrow biopsy. The description of the process did not sound very appealing but it must be done. I wonder if I need to take a couple drill bits.

6 pointsGot my new trailer rims and tires cleaned up today. Once the decades old grease was removed I descovered the tires were old school indian head Carlisles. Who knew?
-
5 pointsI know it’s not manly to say or hear this, but I love you man! And it’s just a number and not anything worse. Keep that positive attitude and roll on!

4 pointsAll good advice above but the year is earlier. Those were made with that hood 1970-72. 73 were "no names". I took would suspect an electric issue first. What ignition system does it have? In addition to checking the gas cap while faulting I'd have a good quality inline spark tester right handy. The Mid Mount Grader Blade is a great tool and not at all common. To be honest if you have any remote justification for usage I'd fix it with a REBUILT KOHLER carb. (Note the caps) And... Run it. Use the grader. Get other implements. Minimum value as it sits ? Grader. $300+ Seat. $150-ish Generator?? Tractor when poorly running but drivable? Depends on your local market. ....ask around $400((??)) Personally I'd keep it and enjoy the machine for it's great capabilities.

4 points@TonyToro Jr. and I did some work on his C145. We fixed the broken muffler and installed a new solenoid. I was tired of replacing with tractor supply solenoids so I figured these worked all these years on old Ford trucks so they should be fine on old garden tractors. So far so good. 👍
-
4 pointsI would get it running right before selling and the price is largely dictated by that as well as your market. I believe that would be a '73. The mid-mount grader has value in itself. I suspect your running issue is either a coil or gas cap (believe it or not). The cap has to vent properly or you end up with a vacuum situation. Loosen the cap when it stalls to see if you hear air drawing in around it, or loosen it while it's running and see if the problem goes away.

4 pointsWhile I have a bagger for my 48" deck, I am grinding up as many leaves as possible both for leaving nutrients on the lawn and less issue dealing with the bags of leaves. However, this keeps stirring up the leaves and they are getting sucked onto the engine air screen on the big Onan. Easiest way to keep it clear is to use a car snow brush but sometimes I need both of my hands to drive. Therefor a brush holder was required. Since my machines are all in restored excellent condition I am hesitant to bolt on a brush holder. Then it dawned on mt to use the rear bagger support and simply clamp on a piece of pipe. Works well and if I need the bagger installed then I just remove the pipe.

4 pointsLess than 8 feet from me. This was on his way back. He had gone the other way 20 minutes before. Just taking his time always grunting. I don’t know if it was pain since he was limping or just plain horny since his harem was not too far away. I get no respect either way. IMG_4506.mov

3 pointsNot a bit of excess on that machine--every part serves a purpose. Even that belt guard that looks like it was cut from an old road sign! Let us know what brand of penetrant you use--I’ll want to call my broker and buy some stock.
-
3 pointsGlad to hear it wasn't that bad, my Hematologist wants to do a biopsy as well
-
3 points@oliver2-44 agreed , an awesome place , my problem would be never leaving , have to oil spray down everything I see , Pete
-
3 pointsWasted some time and gas today but I learned something. Went on a 77 mile round trip to buy some paneling and the place was closed. So I stopped at an antique shop and found it closed. Lastly I went to an Amish food market/deli for lunch and found the deli closed. So I asked what was going on and the non-Amish girl said it was an Amish holiday that they call a day of prayer and fasting. Anyway, the mules were observed eating grass so at least they got a break.

2 pointsLooks like a very well kept . In my opinion if you sell it you will regret it, Nice vintage garden tractors like yours are hard to find.

2 pointsThe BBT and I re started training in the new dojo. We've done some short time training and other cardio workouts there but this was the first time we've done a decent martial arts workout. After that we did use the machines for just a bit as well.

2 pointsThanks for the info and advice ebinmaine! I'll try to add a photo, but it has points and the can style coil. I'll pick up a spark tester before I look into things. I took note of the REBUILT KOHLER in caps. 😁 duely noted sir, Thanks. The generator is something my grandfather had attached to his wheel horse for power outages. I didn't include it because I have not run it to see if it still works. Thanks for the advice!
-
2 pointsIf you have access to Facebook, contact Derek Jarvis. @Cee245 is correct when he thought someone was making reproduction foot controls. These are exact copies of the hydro foot controls offered by Wheel Horse. Best foot control available ( my opinion ) . Only makes a few each year , usually in the spring.

2 pointsI know Gravely used a flywheel screen cleaner, but that would not work on the WH twin having the stationary plastic guard. @Ed Kennell you need to cabbage an old windshield wiper motor and arm, you could even set it on intermittent wipe!
-
2 pointsHi, I ordered the PTO and clutch from FJ Winger. Everything is working good now! Thanks everyone for all of the help!
-
2 pointsI know I for one am looking forward to seeing pictures of what you get
-
2 pointsI can see your logic there. Not knowing the tractor. But a 73 16 automatic would be exactly the same capable as a c-160. Same engine. Same transmission. Same frame. Same weight.
-
2 pointsI enjoy doing different projects it keeps my mind alive and fresh lol. Today I took the time to cut a spare set of tires just in case these let go middle of a storm. Tried a different pattern with the fronts we'll see how they work.

2 pointspic of the tag say 16ks04 So, yes looks like a 1976 wheel horse c-160 not a "auto 16" after all No decal showing a c-160, but the metal tag shows that model number im excited now. !!

2 pointsWe've been grunted huffed and screamed at by both male and females up here so that wouldn't surprise me

2 pointsI was watching three doe at 40 yds out in the field this morning. When I lowered the binos and looked down, there was a legal 5 point standing 10 feet from the tree I'm sitting in. I had placed some white tape on trees at 20, 30, and 40 yds. He walked to the 20 yd tape and attempted to pull it off the tree. He had some gall also.

2 pointsOther tan moving the control valve and hoses over from the donor unit you will have to get the implement valve out of the donor and swap it into the recipient. You also have to move charge relief valve to other side. Its all covered in the sunstrand Hydo manual.

2 points96 shpuld have gold emblems / decals. 96/97 have thicker foot rest pads and they line up with rear fender better. Can read the first couple numbers? In the pic, Its a 1997. Reverse first two number. Goes down to 39XXXXX (1993) i think. Then 1992 and earlier start with O31- or something like that...
-
2 pointsNot sure how I found their websight but I bought this 1/25 Wheel Horse off of Eston's Hobbies. It is not a toy but a beautiful replica. I am a major model car builder so I put this in my case with some of my kits.

2 pointsShe is all cleaned up painted and reassembled. A few things need tweaking still. Not a very sophisticated machine but well built and simple. I believe this guide is home built. Perhaps the original was missing at one time. Needed a few shims to keep table absolutely perpendicular to blade in all directions. Have also to look for new tires but these will do for now. Need to get the proper pulley for the motor and should be trying it soon. Some shims needed Home built guide??

2 pointsThe two machines below cost me a combined total of $75. Took some money to make them look how they do now, but still ... Methinks those days are GONE.
-
1 pointThey won’t sit inside the front rim like a factory weight. Did you measure the mounting hole’s and compare to a front wheel?
