I must be getting really old. Got tired of the hacksaw and decided to get a portable metal saw along with table and foot switch. Got the table to clamp in vise since I don’t use it often it’s easier to just take it out and put it in the corner somewhere. It really takes the drudgery of the metal work specially on the yokes . Did not need anything real heavy duty so the whole thing was at $200.00.

Yesterday's PT session was awesome! First the therapist put a few small items on the floor and had me go around picking them up while using the walker. I did well on that one then she had me walk with a large base cane while she had a firm grip on the belt around me. We walked fifty feet and rested, did that four times and though I was a bit wobbly it felt soooooooooooooo good. Each day gets a little better, thank you Lord.

First, the leaves start to change, so I get Bagger Horse out to take care of the fallen leaves. Then,there is a chance we will see the white stuff, snow ❄️!!! Don't hate!! So out comes Snow Horse , and it is Beastly !!! It will push ten inches of heavy wet snow without breaking a sweat. The rear tires are some old Duro six ply that I have had forever, and they are heavy without fluid, but these are fluid filled. Eighty lbs of lead in the tool box. Cub weights on the inside of the wheels, seventy lb weights of some kind on the outside, and my 225 sitting on it. Four foot blade and easily as it pushes snow ❄️, it could be wider. But not pushing my luck. SNOW,SNOW SNOW SNOW ❄️, don't shoot the messenger !!!!! Thanks !!!!

With a sparkling magic wand, anything fits! But I'm guessing most stuff will bolt right up and nothing wrong with drilling a hole for a bolt if needed. Make it work

So the time has come that I need to put new rear tires on my Original Case 180. The rear tires have rotted to the point that the tubes bulge out of rotted holes in the tires. The original Goodyear 8–15 tires are NLA. I’ve decide to go with the Carslile 8-15 Farm Specialist R1 ag lug tires. On our Wheel Horses I think it looks good to paint the rims white or black and keep the tractor original. But I’m on the fence about painting the rims the Case Flambeau Red or leaving them original. Maybe wire brush clean the inside of the rim and clear coat it to preserve it some. So give me y’all’s opinion.

And I really need to gather some parts to convert Snow Horse to hydraulic lift. The manual lift gets heavy and wears your arm out as you age.

Table is really rugged. Full 1/4” steel. Saw tracks really well mounted on it. My need for it is mostly for long cuts in brass and bronze bars 1/8” to 3/16”thick. Used to do it by hand or sometimes with a jig saw which is kind of violent on something that thin. Saves me a lot of time.

I worked on the boaf (break out another fifty). Had fuel spraying out of the connector. I found the "O" ring was split and no way to replace it. The ball plunger on the engine half was no longer staying centered and had slid around the ball and cut the "O" ring. Back in business $54 later.

Everything I have came from such ideas. If it wasn't for cross compatibility on these tractors, none of mine would be what they are. Might be the occasional mod needed, but most are minor.

With a little work & perseverance you should be able to accomplish anything. Some of this, a little of that, add some voltage, and then.....

My Uncle and his buddy put up another camera last weekend, while putting the canvas on their buck hut blinds. This is on the edge of my 6 acre grassland that I am improving, and our 100 acre crop field. First daytime buck pic I’ve seen this fall!

I have an electric radiant heater mounted above work area. Uninsulated so it helps but not very warm except right under it...

Friends and family have been bringing their 318 John Deere over to mow my yard while i am trapped in a nearly two month surgery, hospital and aftercare facility as a result of a spinal infection. So they trailer up the nice green machine with power steering and all that stuff and he gets on my 314-8 which is really the same as a 400 series in the tractor itself I have been told. He calls my tractor the beast and seems to admire its toughness and not admire its comfort and lack of power steering. He once complained how difficult it was to change the JD mower over to a snow blade. But he still sits on it and mows and thinks it is too hard for my wife to operate. I might view it too tough to operate depending on my recovery, but I have other ones to use that are easier to steer. His wife mows with the Deere so they get done sooner He wants to tear apart a second parts tractor that has the broken plastic cam shaft common to kawasaki engines on certain vintage John Deere engines. i have the shop and lifts for it and Taryl has the video start to finish. Should be a blast

Additionally, we have a new layer in the coop! This is the smallest egg we’ve ever found!

On 8/28 we made a decision to leave some eggs under some broody hens. Today, (day 22) magic is happening in the coop! More have hatched, I placed one barely moving back under the hen a bit ago and another was dead and still. So far, this one is the only one bouncing around. Tomorrow, I’ll sprinkle some starter chick feed in the box with them and maybe some water too. This nesting box is about 2.5’ off the ground.

Guys, this was basically a “senior moment” because of a cold unfriendly material. Aside from it everything is as usual making love to wood the old fashioned way.

There was a place that speciialized in Honda Twins from the 70's Mostly CB 125 o 350 cc. They had whole bikes for sale, but when i went there, they just repaired them and no more parts. the guy honestly told me that with customers rooting around and stealing stuff that it was much easier to break those bikes and send the parts back to jJapan where there is a very high demand for the "big" American versions of what they could not buy even though they made them there..He could break one down in three hours and triple his selling price..Nobody can steal stuff either.once he sold it This happened some years ago with the British stuff.Parts are now through the roof.A similar Honda will run rings around the brit stuff and not leak oil. I happen to have an untitled CL350 with a near perfect set of pipes probably worth four times what i gave for the whole bike.. I have been in the hospital for seventeen days {back surgery} and a medical nursing care to administer IV antibiotics until October third. This stuff is not as important to my life anymore.

Here's my 417A with 48"SD deck. You could raise the front another inch by lowering the front stop bolt, but I think the rear of the deck would still be limited by the foot rest. The deck frame is up against the foot rests. The rubber bumper has been removed.

Hooray! I was gifted a Milwaukee 12v Fuel metal cutting band saw. It is a total game changer even though limited to 2+ inch throat. I simply would not have attempted some of my recent WH enhancement projects without it. SO much cleaner and with better control than a cutoff wheel. As an FYI, I have also used a Diablo metal cutting blade in my 5-¾” Milwaukee 12v circular saw with good results for straight cuts on soft steel plate up 3/16”. Slow but sure.

I remember the first time I walked about 10' (with a walker) in my recovery from a heart procedure that went bad. It was very exciting! It DOES get better, keep up the good work!

Two things: 1. CHECK WITH YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY. Ours will NOT cover a fire caused by an open flame heater in a garage. 2. Ask the local fire inspector what your own State and local codes are. There are legalities behind certain types of heaters in certain areas. That said, We've used propane small area heaters, electric oil filled radiators electric blowers. Biggest thing is not the heater. Insulation and airflow. Stop air movement through the walls.

Unfortunately not an option. Like an Onan, it's on the starter. Also less than one inch below it and beside it. I removed it without pulling the starter, but getting the plunger back in the bendix yoke upside down in such a tight spot will be difficult. I'm gonna try it, but I assume the worst...

That’s my first one. It was my dads. I learned to mow the lawn with it and got it when I moved into my house. It kinda has spiraled out of control since then. They are like chips you can’t just have one.

Welcome. I have a 416h that had a 42” deck on it when I got it. I took my 48” deck and put it on. Many tractors used the same decks or style decks for years. I easily can swap the deck from my 1971 bronco 14 to my 1990’s 416H. Other attachments like the snow/dirt plow go on easy too. I wish I could help with the ground clearance picture but unfortunately the starter went bad and it’s sitting in my shed awaiting repairs. The onan engine in it is strong and will rarely miss a beat for you. Just make sure you check under the engine shrouds and clean it out regularly.

Cut up another old blow down. Pumpkins and cabbage need picked. Couple more weeks till the broccoli and cauliflower are ready.
