6 pointsThis is spot on .... usually, ---- but with this crazy weather some of the weather related ones will apply to several other states That last one is soooo true!! 20 Ways To Know You're From Louisiana: 1. You can properly pronounce Lafayette, Bossier, Natchitoches, Opelousas, Shongaloo, Pontchartrain, Ouachita, and you know that New Orleans doesn’t have a long “e” sound anywhere in it. 2. You think people who complain about the heat in their states are pansies. 3. A tornado warning siren is your signal to go out in the yard and look for a funnel. 4. You know that the true value of a parking space is not determined by the distance to the door, but by the availability of shade. 5. Stores don’t have bags, they have sacks. 6. You’ve seen people wear bib overalls at funerals. 7. You think everyone from a bigger city has an accent. 8. You measure distance in minutes. 9. Little Smokies are something you serve only for special occasions. 10. You go to the lake because you think it is like going to the ocean. 11. You listen to the weather forecast before picking out an outfit. 12. You know cowpatties are not made of beef. 13. Someone you know has used a LSU football schedule to plan their wedding date. 14. You have known someone who has a belt buckle bigger than your fist. 15. You aren’t surprised to find movie rental, ammunition, and bait all in the same store. 16. A Mercedes Benz isn’t a status symbol. A Ford F-250 Extended Bed Crew Cab Powerstroke is a status symbol. 17. You know everything goes better with ‘Tony’s’. 18. You learned how to shoot a gun before you learned how to multiply. 19. You actually get these jokes and are “fixin” to send them to your friends. 20. You’re not offended by the term “coonass.” If anything, it’s a compliment. Finally, you are 100% Louisianian if you have ever had this conversation: “You wanna coke?” “Yeah.” “What kind?” “Dr Pepper.”

5 pointsI was up on the roof last week measuring for steel. I ran across a couple things that seemed like they were a bit out of place. I’m guessing the mouse was dropped by a bird. The clay, I wonder how long ago it was blasted out of the sky.

4 pointsHere’s my things in a roof story. Years ago I was brush hogging some woods with my Ford 545-C for a customer when all of a sudden there was a BANG and the brush hog started shaking violently. I thought I hit something or wrapped up a cable? I got off and looked underneath and noticed that one of the blades was missing! Then I noticed a slice in the side of the brush hog! I figured that the blade couldn’t be too far away after that so I looked and looked but couldn’t find it. There was also a gentleman with a weed wacker with a blade on it doing around the trees. He helped me look to no avail. So I had to get new blades and go back to finish. Probably over a year goes by and I run into the guy that owns the neighboring house, he’s a friend of mine. He says “Hey wasn’t that you that brush hogged my neighbor’s woods a while ago?” I told him that yes it was me, why? He then told me that he found a blade stuck in the roof of his house 😳 right above his kitchen sink window while cleaning his gutters. He said that it just tucked itself under one of the tabs and didn’t do any damage. He pulled it out and kept it to show me! His house was probably 80-100 feet away from where I was working. To think there was a man working nearby when this happened! Since then I will not allow anyone anywhere near where this type of activity is taking place. I’m glad nobody got hurt! And that’s my story!

4 pointsI had an 83 Goldwing Aspencade. Had 28,000 on it. Made many trips from Central NY. down to PA on RT. 6. We would always stop at Larry's Sport's Center (HD dealer). A salesman would always come running out and say "Who's got the Goldwing" Then try to sell me a bike. I would always say "No thanks I want to make it home!"

4 pointsYup - I think both had a bit of help getting there.... Did you build a rodent launcher.....??

3 pointsThat roof looks fairly new, why are you measuring for steel?? It was in todays paper...guy had a block of ice fall on to his roof during the night. Left a hole going into the attic the size of a regular claw hammer. Scared the heck out of the wife and him...the 2 kids never woke up. He thinks it came from an airplane...they are investigating. Then there was the story in Texas where a snake fell from the sky and wraped around this woman's arm, while she was riding and mowing the lawn. A hawk swooped down and wanted the snake back. Scared the heck out of her...word is she is still not able to sleep good. BTW...lived in a trailer park for a few years in Maine while in the Navy. You could hear it snow. Don't forget to put the stop avalanche things in. The yahoos next door put a steel roof on without that and when the snow let loose, it fell on their car. It left a mark.

3 pointsJust got back from a nice ride today. This is my last of about 20 Harley's I have had (still have 2 more in the garage..) 2006 Road King with built 95 CI and custom 6 speed OD. 114 HP and 108 Ft. Lbs of torque. Woods gear cams, etc. Runs 2800 rpm at 80 MPH. Have dusted a few crotch rockets with it....love the look on their faces.

3 pointsI had a 1985 Goldwing LTD for many years. Loved the bike - it was following a 1981 Silverwing GL-500 that I had for about 18 years, and that was my 5th bike I think. Unfortunately too many things started going wrong at once, my Ex (wife at the time) was spending all our money on horses, so I didn't have the cash to fix it so I let it go. This was a sweet machine.... I miss it.

3 pointsThe deck linkage and the right front tire wanted to occupy the same space if the wheel was turned sharp to the right. The 19" front tiresnmight have had something to do with this, As you know the 1973 noname, c-series and later garden tractors came with a lift bar..that also holds the deck back. The first method I tried put pressure on the brake band. Second try worked not hitting the brake band and the tire doesn't hit the lift linkage. Looks like it hits the deck rollers but it doesn't.

3 pointsMy thought would be a collaboration with one of the site’s parts vendors who already have inventory systems in place. In particular, https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/forum/169-a-z-tractor/ and https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/forum/177-kb-horse-parts/

3 pointsOuch! Like we have been saying the body seeks to expel stuff that shouldn't be in there. A torx screw eh? Better than a cross point as the surgeons would be arguing over using a Philips or Posidrive bit

2 pointsSo, I have an upcoming opportunity to inventory a bunch of WH/Toro OEM parts in original bags or boxes, and was hoping to find a parts list in text or spreadsheet format so I can scan the barcodes and look them up in the list using a formula. I think I only need the 400-500 series, and I know the IPL's are in the manuals section but in PDF format. I probably could copy those lists from the PDF's and import them into a spreadsheet, but that would take a while. So I thought there might be a chance that someone already has such a list. Mostly interested in small parts - any big ones I can just look up manually if I need to. Anyone have such a thing? Some of this stuff will likely end up for sale here on the forum, so this would help ease the process of making these parts available for purchase. Thanks!

2 pointsI've been experimenting with several cleaning products for carbs. Tried pink stuff purple stuff green stuff and some other stuff. Per a YouTube video I watched I tried good ole gasoline. Success! Cleans excellent. Easily containable. Easily replaceable. Inexpensive. Also been experimenting with the internal container. Lots of folks don't fill the whole machine with the cleaning fluid. I liked that idea so I adopted it. I tried a couple types of plastic but the resonance wasn't great. I went to glass. Tried a couple different sizes and shapes. Today Trina and her mom were at the wally world. This new container landed here. Just excellent. Approximately 6 x 6 x 6. It'll hold at least 2 carbs.

2 pointsI just had a roofing company put a standing seam steel roof on my house in May. As rjg854 said, 5/8" plywood and moisture barrier. They stripped the old shingles off. Old asphalt shingle roof was 28yr old, losing lots of granules.

2 pointsMore so Mass-chew-shetts than Maine has the towns no one in the world can pronounce. Even @JCM Jim. Hi. My name is bear. I am a heat pansy. Now that one's real pop'lar up here. We don't use miles. Yepp. We can relate to this too... But it's Tony's Donuts. Right around Portland. Them's donuts!! I'm tellin you honestly.. I'm just not sure. 😃

2 pointsAnd if it doesn't fit for any reason, you can take it back for the correct size. No charge...just keep the sleeve and belt clean.

2 pointsYour drive belt part number is 7473 which is a 5/8" by 82" (5L-820) belt. Tractor Supply Kevlar belts work well. The deck belt should be one of the ones listed in this group, just look for your deck's model number. https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/search/?&q=36in SD B 80&type=downloads_file&search_and_or=and&sortby=relevancy

2 pointsYou might want to consider digging large pit for the flushing water to run off. I have never done the quantity of birds you are about to process but know that the flushed water that is left over will have an unpleasant odor and will attract all sorts of critters.

2 pointsAfter my mom passed in 2014 I moved her two sisters, one of which was wheelchair bound, in with Libby and me. Well, the wheelchair bound Aunt(Aunt Peggy) had had previous surgery to repair a broken shin bone. One day while providing care for her I noticed a small bump on the leg… doctor said nothing to be concerned about, especially at her age… Well sometime later we had no choice but to seek residence for her in an assisted living facility. I visited her quite regularly and noticed the bump getting bigger… still not alerted because she said it was not painful and no signs of infection or such. One day I noticed whatever was causing the bump was coming on out. It was a surgical screw used when they put her broken leg bones back together years before. Well after the round head torx screw was protruding out far enough to see about 1/4 inch of the shaft, the assisted living facility manager decided to take her to the doc and let them have a look see. I visited that afternoon after work and asked the facility director how things went… She said the doctor had a look, walked over to his toolbox, grabbed a battery powered drill with a torx bit and screwed it the rest of the way out… no local anesthesia, nothing…easy peasey, Japanesey… she didn’t feel a thing… I would have crapped myself !
