Here is my C175 twin Predator. Had this engine for about a year and was looking for something easy to put it in. And this thing was way easier than doing the Sears that i started doing. Only hard part was machining back of pulley so it would slide on crank and line up with the belt. I just stuck it on the engine backwards with it running and hit it with a flap disc lol. Worked. Bought the exhaust pipes off ebay and flipped the muffler around, it was not fun testing with it shooting towards you let me tell ya. Bought this tractor for 20 bucks have 400 in it cause someone stole the engine from previous owner and I had to buy pulley and pto and few other things off ebay. Did bearings in the deck to and have new blades in the way. All that's left is a new cam adjuster for hydro and should be good to go. Will probably take back apart and paint this winter.

Finally got around to fixen up the seat I found at the big show this yr.for a great price ! It was in pretty good shape, just needed some love.Stripped it all down painted the pan and cleaned up the vinyl and re wrapped the foam cushion. I think it came out pretty good.I’m planning on putting it on a 12 Auto, this is the seat it originally with I believe. This thing really has some weight to it !

Good question. I've had all kinds of tool chests and boxes over the years. With the size of beast you have there remembering where everything is will be the problem. It takes a good while for muscle memory to learn the locations of the main tool groups; spanners, sockets, drivers etc. I bought myself a labeling machine, prints waterproof labels on different sized of tape. Now I label my drawers to assist the ageing grey matter. I hate having spanners and tools rolling round in drawers so I prefer foam inserts with cut outs. You lose a bit of room obviously but my power tools will stay in good shape longer now they are snug in their cut outs. My boxes need to travel with me to do home repairs and servicing mowers etc. So weight is an issue, if your chest is likely to stay in the shop you probably won't want to do the foam inserts and weight shouldn't be a problem. Mick.

….as if I didn’t have enough of them. LOL Anyway, here’s a couple pics of my ‘91 312-8 in it’s new home. It came with a rear discharge (on it) and a side discharge 48”?First thing it needs is a fuel pump, I’m going electric.

We need more electricity. Not just because of electric cars either. As the population grows and grows, we need more housing. More housing needs more energy. Same with cars. We see the old posts on FB with gas at 30 cents a gal. Everyone gets all wound up about the price of gas now. But there were a couple million cars on the road then compared to the millions upon millions now. We have plenty of oil. We don't have enough refineries to refine it. I had customers (farmers) who leased their land to cell tower companies (eyesore) and gas wells $$$$ They quit farming and head to the local casinos. Who wants a refinery next to their house? Raise their hand! Who wants a power plant next to their house? Raise their hand! I'm no fan of windmills either but they will become a necessity in the long term. Enjoy life. It's too short as we have found all too often in this forum lately.

The Carbole pump is the same as the Facet which is the same as Napa 610-1051. Other companies Mr. Gasket for example sell it. One company makes it and puts the different labels on them to each seller. They work well on a horse. I got 2 of them on currently. Those round metal pumps , throw in the circular file cabinet!

I have a Carbole and it seems fine. I bought it because of recommendations from users on this site. I would buy it again.

Went to the 42nd Annual Steam and Gas Show and took some pics. Massey was the feature of the show. Lots of nice ones and plenty of other stuff. Not many wheel horses. Just a handful I did see a lever steer and when i went back to take some pics I could not find it. One for @wallfish this one is the shuttle service thought of pullstart since he has all those bus seats. one for EB one for AMC smooth operator And a few others.

A project like this is always fun to see the end result. Thanks for filming it as you go. I'll look forward to more installments. Here is a photo of one from a local show a couple years ago for inspiration. Made to replicate the W-9 it was sitting next to. No idea who built it, never did find them to ask about it.

Eyecrometer! I’ve never heard that before! I’m definitely going to add that to my vocabulary! That should be listed in the word of the day thread. Seems like I’ll have so many uses for it in the future!

There are exceptions to everything Jim. I routinely slapped this 8 speed from high 2nd to high 3rd at WOT without bothering with the clutch.

Always a fav show of mine and this year no different. I joined last year as a member of the club and did abit of work on the grounds. Next year maybe abit more as I ease into it. This year they had the BIG 150 Case brought in. More on the history of it later but they lay claim to the biggest steamer in North America. Lots of it on FB for you FBers. So story has it ther was none remaining out of nine or so built but a privateer copied a remaining boiler. Got the orginal drawings from Case and built one in his garage. Well maybe not his garage but had to buy a machine shop and a foundry to build it. @Wild Bill 633 help me out here on the factuals. More show pics to follow... Club says about 4000 to come in through the gate all weekend on an average show... this year hopefully 4-5000 a day for Case feature.

Busy day... finally had to replace the original ig switch on the 1045. What a PIA. I re-wired it from stem to stern when I got it but of course the new switch was completely different term layout. Working with these 70 Amp switches is never fun. Hats off to Mr. David @new2horses for prompt shipping of the show replacement. He's invited to my camp anytime I don't care if @wheelhorseman does have better chow...

Fitted up a tiller to Alice. Early 80s vintage tiller and Alice is a 74 C-120. No rear rockshaft. Couldn't figure why the tiller had this bracket on it but research said it was some kind of lift service assembly to put a late model tiller on an earlier tractor. Or vice versa? Almost makes me think it's for a tractor that has the rear rockshaft? Lift height was questionable so just extended the cable with chain to the lift plate.

Drove 75 miles, and topped off at the same pump. 8.2 smiles per gallon Considering Mrs. P’s daily driver gets about that, I’d say not bad for years of storage!

Well I did a couple laps around the yard riding the bulb Wow, what a comfortable ride and easy to drive! It’s also very…..agricultural 😂 the blades sound like they’re spinning very casually rather than the frenzied turbo whirl of my other lawn tractors. I hope wifey doesn’t like the “everything manual” aspect of it. A glamour shot

I pick this up a few weeks ago. A 1056. This was mistreated in its later years. The hood was so dented and bang up from miss use It could not be mounted normally. So this is the end result. The p/o thought by lifting up and bending the steering wheel was the right way to open the hood I guess. Hope you enjoy the picks!

CAR BOLE IS THE ONE YOU WANT , my advise / experience , pete

The vane style (first) have never worked long for me and seem to be the most apt to blow past the seat. The solenoid style (2nd) is kinda noisy but seems more reliable and not quite as forceful...i setup a generator cart with a 13g boat tank last year and it has the 2nd style, its performed well so far on the 13hp Honda. I did just buy a pump like came factory on my Exmark Z, its similar to the 2nd one and seems to have been designed for this use..i want to put it on my Toro Z mower.

I have two nuke plants within an hour of me. Am I worried? No. But the discussion should not be about what is right or wrong with any type of electric generation, the discussion and emphasis should be on developing FUSION.

The whole green movement is dependent on government subsidy. I get the concern about running out of fossil fuel but they are rushing headlong into these "solutions" without looking at long term problems. The windmills are expensive to build and maintain, the blades have a limited life expectancy and end up in land fills when no longer usable. The rush to electric cars ignores the fact the carbon foot print on them is as bad as gas powered cars when you factor the mining, etc for the batteries. Th whole CO2 scare is suspect as that's what plants use. The elephant in the room is after 10 years the electric car batteries are shot, replacement cost is more than the car is worth and at this time the batteries are not recyclable. And where do folks think the electricity for charging comes from?? Fossil fuel powered electric power plants. I don't understand why the hybrid technology is not fully explored in vehicles first. Uses much less gas, recharges cheaper simpler batteries and seems to be a good balance toward less fossil fuel used. I am sure I will ruffle some feathers here but the whole "green movement" smacks of the same control agenda of the Covid mess. I lived in the 70's when all the media were warning about global winter with pictures of the statue of liberty submerged in ice. Same folks selling the same scare with $$$ in the pockets for them.

I'm a bigger proponent of solar power but wind is also important. Wind turbine farms are far quieter than just about any manufacturing plant. The perception of the noise is increased due to them being built in rural areas with minimal background noise. Yes, they do make noise and it's different but even standing at the base of a tower a normal conversation can be had. Threshold of hearing 0 Rural night-time background 20-40 Quiet bedroom 35 Wind farm at 350m 35-45 Car at 40mph at 100m 55 Busy general office 60 Truck at 30mph at 100m 65 Pneumatic drill at 7m 95 Jet aircraft at 250m 105 Threshold of pain 140 A visit to the Blue Creek Wind Farm should convince anybody that the noise is mainly just an excuse for not liking them. Same goes for things like bird kills, etc. No, I wouldn't want one close but the same goes for (as Mike mentioned) a power plant, refinery, any manufacturing, landfill, etc.

Good question Mike. The local power station, Hatfield's Ferry Power Station, was a 1.7 gigawatt producer. They invested 700 million in clean coal technology power in 2009. They decided to start shutting it down in 2013 because of a even tighter regulation needing another 245 million in upgrades. Hmmm. China commissions 1 new coal powered plant a week. Again Hmmm There is a lot of foreign interest that guides our world. Just makes you wonder.

Officially and in writing (in front of my Red Square Brethren) I will say "Absolutely do not ever shift a Wheel Horse 8-speed transmission on the fly." However if we were at the Big Show and you pulled me to the side and asked the same question, I would say " Use a top quality transmission lubricant like Lucas 90W, and with a little practice you can shift on the fly by learning how to let the shifter slide into the gear you want. Don't force it, just let the gears slide together." I've been doing that since I bought my first Wheel Horse in 1991. Never damaged a transmission. BTW, thank you for being a Supporter

Appears pretty accessible... Why not just weld up with a small plate / flat bar along frame and get it rolling for another couple seasons? Something else needed? Edit - you typed faster than me...

Before I saw this, I made that call as well. I’m NOT spending any money, or charging any at least. The fish plate is thicker than the “frame” I’ll do the same treatment on the other side.

Wait... Did someone at Central Command require a commitment from @ebinmaine to complete Colossus before the next year's invoice comes due? Now that would impact this site on a fundamental basis... Pictures, actual pictures, of a completely functioning Colossus-like creature crawling through the Mainah woods...

I'll throw a few of my pic's up. First up this little Avery. This Rat Rod / doodle bug was quite interesting. Really liked the rare engine that was used in it. A great cut away display of a threshing machine. It was powered by small gas engine for slow speed movement. Another builder reaching for the extreme. There were a lot of really nice Case displays. One that caught my eye was this Case automobile. A pic of the 150hp Case steam traction engine hooked on to an eliminator.
