7 pointsMachined one hub today. Had to make a spacer so the hub would fit right. Also got the spindle sleeves machined for the thrust bearings.

6 pointsHey guys, between working full time and all kinds of small and bigger jobs I finally got some time to work on the mini IH 1468. I'll be attending the harvest show again this year and hoped to have finished the 1468 but that's not going to happen. There are a LOT of small things I still have finish up. One of those I tackled yesterday and installed a proper fuelvalve in the gastank. The tractor looks a bit sad at the moment.

5 pointsHere is today's project. Finishing the roof on camp. Camp has consumed most of my time for a few months now. It's finally to the point I can take some time to get back to tractors.

5 pointsOld girl finally made her first show. Sad lack of WH's this year at Eliot, lack of attendees in general as all shows are nowadays. A good time overall though. Ice cream was made via Clinton engine and the little Horse belt started a dead John Deere LA so that was fun.

4 pointsThe area around the mountain here in Sandwich NH has been occupied by European folk since approximately the mid 1700s. The house building on the settlement you see here was built around 1830. It's been part of White Mountain National Forest since 1949.

4 pointsDoing a Oilchange yesterday, than a 4h Mowing task - while mowing the 2 Weldings rips on my Front mower. I did the Welding not too stiff as a planed Weakpoint in case of a Crash - just few Spots they be stiff enough for the Mowing Task and they did rip after the Crash as it was Planned. Reason was a huge hidden Rock under Grass Surface i forgot about was the Antichrist and i hit it with full speed of the Discmower. The sound of the Crash was horrible and i feared it has more defects than only the Flip of the Mower, than i double checked the whole Horse - but all on my Horse is fine. The Mower cracks at the tilt mounting point in Top of the Lift lever i built, where i thinkering here will be a good place for a planned Weakpoint. Once while mowing i was thinkering to reinforce it here more, but luckily i didn‘t it until so the weakpoint can do for what it was planned for. The Belt jumps right off and the blades stop as fast as needed just little scratches on the Rock but all blades keep in place. The Gearboxes and the Discs be unharmed, just the whole Mowerdeck flips completely at 180 deg. luckily i was able to break before i crashed into the running Deck. ok, that Way can not be finished today, so driving back to the Shed, switch to the original Mowingdeck, sharpened the Blades and mow the rest of the Areal. Allway’s good to have a spare mower...

4 pointsMrs. P’s company has a car show on Thursday, August 10. Yesterday, she and I discussed getting “Ole’ Smoky” out of mothballs. No, we don’t actually use mothballs… it’s just been stored far too long. I tossed a battery in it, cranked it over until oil pressure presented itself on the gauge, then rapped the throttle a few times and cranked it again. Oh that sound! A desperate bath was in need. Tires are also. There will be a tractor in the back for the show. It’s been a catch all for a while, from spare camping gear to K91s and everything in between.

I will work on it toi get strightened out. I have wanted one for several yaers and finally found one. What model tractor whould this have been made for? Thanks in advance!! Mike

3 pointsI suppose you could as a temp fix. But I would recommend simply replacing it when you have a chance.

3 pointsThe extended coverage is such an important thing these days. There are so many intricate doodads on today's cars that you could go broke keeping up with them all. My sister-in-law's KIA is about five years old and if it weren't for the extended warranty she would have given up on it a couple years ago. The safety (lane departure/following to closely etc.) system went out which disabled the car. Repair costs were nearly as much as she paid for the car but was paid for by the extended coverage as well as the rental car for a couple weeks while the work was being done. I made my last car payment in the 1980s. I didn't always have a fancy car but haven't made a payment since. For the past thirty years we have always purchased our cars/trucks new and paid cash, run them at least 200K so depreciation is not an issue. Seeing the price of new cars today I'm glad our next new car will likely be our last new car. We have only got 150K on our 2008 Mountaineer so there is no rush.

3 pointsSuch irony, we decide to get the truck out yesterday and today had a couple hours for a motorcycle ride. We literally stumbled into a car show in a neighboring town. There were so many rides, and so little time. We enjoyed the scenery more than trying to capture it.

3 pointsWhat is the tractor model number and serial number? Found this for a 1976 model Hydraulic pump belt 250106 - 9.5mm x 1175mm - 3/8" x 46-1/4" - Gates replacement 6746 Pair of pto belts 250106 - 12.5mm x 1025mm - 1/2" x 40-3/8" - Gates replacement 6840 (Guttbrod 000 75 734 - 1/2" x 39-7/8") Water pump belt 251028 - 9.5mm x 600mm - 3/8" x 23-5/8" - Gates replacement 6734 looks like a typo - Should be 6724 Water pump belt 252286 replaced by 252370 - 9.5mm x 675mm - 3/8" x 26-1/2" - Gates replacement 3VX265

2 pointsHello, I picked up a C120 Automatic, believe it to be '76 model. Came with a mower deck, IH 42" plow blade, and a WH snow blower. I am having a hard time identifying my mower deck, I am assuming a 42". These are the measurements I took: Blade tip to tip - 40.75" Discharge tip, to opposite wall - 41.25" Blade length - 13.75 - 13.875" Width of deck - 21.125 Length of deck - 47.125 Finally, I really had a hard time getting the deck attached. It seems to have bent brackets and a round bar that wants to dislodge as soon as it gets fully mounted. The front lifting bracket was not easy to get locked into place. The non-discharge side height adjustment wheel had to be removed to give clearance when mounting. I also found signs of patch work, new hardware, etc. I would like as much info as possible so I can start rwbuilding this thing - the JD is down and I really need to mow the grass. I know the WH is solid machine, just need mower drive belt, spindle belt is OK, and help with repair suggestions based off the above observations. Thank you, everyone.

2 pointsFirst a testament to keeping the tractor garaged. My 36 year old 312-8 has always been garaged and today I finally had to replace the original muffler. After 36 years it did not owe me anything. Amazingly the bolt that secured the muffler bracket to the engine came right out with a simple box wrench. The two nuts on the muffler clamp unscrewed without difficulty using a socket wrench. I was able to reuse the muffler clamp without any difficulty, just a bit of oil on the threads. Now my question and concern. My new muffler had to be positioned facing straight down and the exhaust point is just a couple of inches inside the front tire and only a few inches above. I am a bit concerned with the heat of the exhaust hitting the tire all the time.

2 pointsCan I shoot compressed air up my fuel line to clear the gas tank screen on my C-165 black hood? I'll clean it properly when I have time.
-
2 pointsAfter buying many fuel shut offs for 3 and 400 series WH's and using OEM ones I was informed that the Tecumseh ones were exactly the same for a lot less $ at our favorite WH Dealer in Beverly. Hi Dave I think it also came with the rubber bushing.

2 pointsWe have a friend in Greencastle, Indiana whose father was a sailor on the USS Indianapolis. I also worked with his grandson one summer. Here is the article from a newspaper in Illinois about Mr. Don McCall passing. In 2017. .https://www.news-gazette.com/news/a-life-remembered-uss-indianapolis-survivor-got-72-bonus-years/article_a2d96ffc-02fc-5f87-ad25-6c67eb72172c.html

2 pointsI would have to disagree with the clear line. I have used both yellow and blue...after a couple years they shrink and get very stiff
-
2 pointsMachines of that era tended to be overbuilt AND repairable........ IF you can find suitable replacement parts...
-
2 pointsThe Funk Brothers offered a V-8 conversion kit when the 9N came out that will fit a 9N, 2N and a 8N, I'm not sure if it will fit a NAA since it's a bit different than a 8N. And I seen some good V-6 and V-8 conversions on 8Ns, and I seen some really bad ones where you couldn't really steer the tractor due to interference with the steering apparatus on the tractor. Myself, the best thing would be to find a Sherman transmission, especially the Combo, and put that in the tractor.
-
2 pointsNo offense to anyone and I mean this in the the most positive way. THAT is exactly why you know it's time to rebuild the carb and replace the fuel lines. I'm sure MMO is fine stuff and all but the money spent on that could have bought a Kohler brand carb kit and a few feet of fuel line. It's great that your tractor is running better but that by itself shows there's a need in the fuel system. Instead of trusting a chemical to move the dirt or contamination around, replace the parts.

2 pointsYes I do, but it has no plans to make me any money! It’s in the will to be Jada’s some day, like the Senior will by Rylee’s.

2 pointsNice! At ‘05 Electra Glide. “The couch on wheels” I had these AR-767 wheels and some old 32x11.50-15s I figured I’d try on for size. I like a bigger tire under these, instead of dropping them with smaller tires. It felt great to drive it a couple miles tonight! The clutch chatters a bit, but it always has. That three on the tree and warm 350 feel so good! One of the reasons I love Norman so much, is the throwback design of the hood compared to this ‘69. Classic looks for Chevy!

2 pointsThank you everyone. I guess this one is the milestone that now classifies me a a “senior citizen “. I often wonder how I got here so fast.

2 pointsI cut the grass with my grandson. As I did with my son and as my father did with me.... since 1965. F6B5DBF1-142D-4A8F-B583-31811FEFDD05.heic

2 pointsI happened upon a “new” commuter vehicle today too! I nabbed a 2000 S10 Blazer ZR2 4x4 for little to nothing, delivered! It runs good and needs a lot of polishing up inside and out. And some brake line work *the best part, is I probably have one new truck payment into this purchase

2 pointsSo you’re saying there isn’t a lube available for old knees !! Dang-it! Just messing with ya Pete
