8 pointsA couple years ago Trina and I were given the opportunity to own a few hand made kit type black powder pieces. See this thread: One is the cannon in the following pics. It turned out that after we got ahold of it we couldn't figure out how to open the breach which was necessary for cleaning according to online instructions. It also was in need of one of two clips that hold the barrel down. One of my coworkers has a hobby forge and is familiar with black powder things so I'd asked him to have a look at it. He was able to get it back to a usable condition and even did a nice polish on the barrel. It was colored a brass ish tone but badly tarnished. Also while disassembling it the barrel was gouged a bit. (I'm perfectly fine with that). In process pic: Here's the after results...

5 pointsI have bought a couple of the rebuild kits from them in the past. If I remember correctly, you can actually call them and talk to someone. Isn’t that crazy? 🤣

4 pointsOne thing to keep in mind - In side the walls of your camper, every DC wire connection is made with the dreaded Scotchlok connectors. The throw together camper & enclosed trailer companies love them for their easy of assembly. Unfortunately they are also great source for electrical failure.

4 pointsI'm 1 1/2 hours east of the show, and forecast is for sunny and 82 degrees. So who knows? Bob, if your forecast is correct, there is 70% chance of no rain.

3 pointsGotta side with Dan on this one. You do know ther are no bearings in the axles... just thin wall bushings. Which are already questionable which is why I let you have it. Sides my nieces are always cool on any ! I'm sure wheelies had nothing to do with that!
-
3 pointsCareful wit dem dually's. My axles started sagging on my rat rod with just one set of 23x10.50x12's. Had to straiten them out & add gussets to keep them from sagging.

3 pointsAnother thing Kevin your camper has slide outs doesn't it ? They are a prime location for a short. I would hate for you to have a problem on the way to the show. Then your family would have to bunk with @elcamino/wheelhorse

3 points30% is fine. I am sure that will change. As always I put a call into the rain gods and told them no rain Thursday to Sunday! We are good to go!

3 points@Pullstart don't forget your last official responsibility from your collective recent A-60 multi-state delivery services... Please make sure the Wisconsin Boys get their Wheel Horse Bourbon unopened and unmolested... Wouldn't want @WHX?? and @Achto to be grumpy at the show! Enjoy!!!

3 pointsSo it has been one whole year since I got the Civil War era chest. Except for a few things restoration and retrofitting has been completed since about September. I have been working out of it since and continued to add compartments such as another till and small removable till with door. Key and strike for main lock were missing , so I fabricated them from a brass bar, lock now being complete and functional. It is pretty much full . I have grown very fond of it and really enjoy using it. It feels like it was always here. It was also typical for these chests to have some “artwork” or such on the inside of lid. I continue that tradition by adding hand photos of current and future owners. Fabricated missing key and strike lock is finally functioning Hidden pivoting compartment keeps keys with chest. new small removable compartment with door for small loose items Narrow center tills when removed allow wide tills to slide back and forth allowing access to bottom of chest. pretty much every tool is able to be removed without disturbing others. My favorite and prized extremely rare type 5 Stanley 45 also made it into chest. One year only production 1893 in 99% mint condition . Hands of current and future owners.

3 pointsThere is a reason that un-washed eggs will keep at room temp. Hens will not sit on their eggs until they feel that they have laid enough. This way their chicks will all hatch about the same time. Take a few days to collect the number of eggs that you want. When you have what you want then place them in the incubator. Your eggs should all hatch about the same time. Providing your rooster has done his job.
-
3 pointsYou don’t see many of these around these parts… thought about getting it and throwing a predator motor on it.
-
3 pointsEasier to dodge and pass the slow pokes! Once you drive about 50-100ft you get used to it pretty quick. It's that 1st initial ride that catches ya by surprise! And there are actual world records for the same make tractor parades. Didn't see one for a single model tractor. Too bad I didn't look into that a bit earlier. It's like 12-16 weeks for an application approval. Maybe I'll talk to the WHCC guys this year about going for a WH world record next year. That would be something cool to be a part of.

2 pointsIf it's a dead short, intermittent or not, the time it's going to rear it's ugly head and cause bigger issues is on the road away from home. Murphy's law is alive and well and think you might be friends. LoL What about running a temp wire external and under and even up the back on the outside and into the back of the light fixture as a temp fix just for the trip? I don't know what those lights look like but assuming they come out from the face with a couple of screws so just throwing it out there.
-
2 pointsI don't think so. Skunky and Randy will have the extra bed in the room. I just have a single and very gassy at night.
-
2 pointsDon’t feel so ashamed. Desperation sometimes calls for unapproved measures. I had an old Toyota truck many moons ago that developed a similar problem . Truck would not start due to a blown 30 amp fuse that seemed to blow at startup. For about one entire year no one could figure out where the short was. Once new fuse was put in problem could not be duplicated and truck would be ok for months on end. Drove me and many mechanics nuts. Not to mention the cost of diagnosing it each time. It was nothing but a wild goose chase. Then somehow I learned about a self resetting fuse. It was a good truck and I didn’t want to lose it, but if it did burn up I did not care. So I went that way. Drove it for almost 10 years like that never had that problem again.
-
2 pointsI'd go like stink trying to find the short. Worse case scenario run it without the running light circuit. Maybe run a new circuit to the tail lights only. If you're gonna use a breaker, go no more than 10 amps. If you run a 30 amper and the short is bouncing along at 20-25 amps things can still get hot

2 pointsI was towing a car on a tow dolly one evening for my B-I-L on the NYS Thruway during heavy T storms once. I didn't know it but a mouse had chewed thru a wire on the dolly. It knocked out my tail lights at first and then my headlights. All I had to see with was other cars tail lights and my 4 way flashers. When I was able to stop and unplug the dolly the head lights came back on and I replaced the tail light fuse.
