NEVER OVERLOOK THE OBVIOUS! When we bought Mrs. P’s ‘97 Suburban “DeEtte” from Colorado sight unseen, the seller told me the A/C probably needs a recharge, as it doesn’t work. Two years later, I decide to look into it. Mrs. P is on a girls trip with her mom, three aunts and grandma, so I’m sure she’ll need some excitement when she gets home. They can be hard work! I checked the pressure. It seems to have been recharged about umpteen times too many. Prepared with my meter for real troubleshooting,I decided I’d check fuses and relays. What relay? It was missing. I used a spare from the parts truck. Huh. It works! Now she can ride as cool as she looks!

That’s a lot of hours! I bet the key was left on a few times and it racked up some hours that way.

While visiting my granddaughter in Florida last week i had a small vessel stroke, also called a subcortical stroke. The numbness has subsided from my left side but it will be a while before I'm able to horse around. I will miss seeing everyone at the big show but will be watching on line.

One. Works TV and cable box. Stereo is old school with lots of buttons. Got to get up to change records too. I am the remote.

I’m not sure how many remotes we have. I put them in a safe place and haven’t seen them since...

Richard, you're often the first to offer a prayer to those in need here. I just said one for you. Get well soon

For me, 90% about the people, 5% tractors, and 5% the pies

I've never under stood the purpose of this. It's right freaking there!!! Just reach out & make your adjustments! Have you ever spent more time looking for a remote than it would have taken to just get up & make the changes that you wanted???? I have, because there are no flippin' buttons on the TV or cable box it's self to make the changes that I wanted.

Make sure you emphasize your hard work and extensive time/efforts to fix it - get them brownie points... We won't tell...

It occurs to me this morning that there are six remotes in my living room alone and for some reason my feeble five-year-old mind found that amusing. Roku. Tv. Cd. Multi-disc CD changer. Stereo head unit. Heater. Then I got to thinking about what else there is around and there's at least four or five more between house and shop. At work we even have a remote in one of the semi trucks for the radio which is right there on the dash. Interesting part about that is, it isn't even legal to use the remote anymore because that's considered a handheld electronic device. Unlike the radio itself.

@953 nut RICHARD , get better soon , couple of months back , started having eye issues , my regular eye doc , sent me to a retena specialist , turned out to be blood vessel leakage behind and at bottom of eyes , got some eyeball injections , 5 step numbing process . went a few times , cleared up , 20/20 now amazing . think your most important thing is that you got help for it , thats how you should react to medical issues . you will be horsing around before you know it , glad you are on the mend , pete

You may need to add a couple foot pegs for those high speed runs.

It's fantastic. The first year, it was 90% about the tractors and 10% about the people. Now it's 10% about the tractors, and 90% about the people. And their are home made pies for sale at the consession stand.

Taking care of yourself is the first order of business, Richard. You'll be missed at our dinner gatherings and at the show. May God speed your recovery. Hopefully this next year will pass quickly and we'll see each other again.

i dont either well we did but it didnt work good but i have my own version. Ok first you may think since im 14 i know everything not true but not wrong... ok first step turn on water hose. step two "tricky part" stick A finger of choice preferably pointer finger in the open end of the hose. step three make sure while you do that make you jeans and yourself fairly wet. step four spray at your object needing a wash. step five notice how well it sorta does and then let it dry and you find out how much dirt is still there. last step buy a proper pressure washer or go to Manuel car wash or smt...

I tested out the warranty thing once. Called the number on the can and remarkably someone answered. They ask for the bar code number on the can and even told me where it was bought and price. Asked how many and I said just one. They sent me a check. So uncle Jim save them up, and call. then shoot m!

My cousin owns all 3,that's how I have the choice. I built a Deere 318 out of a 318, a 316, and a 314 for him. It has front and rear pto and hydraulics, it's hydro drive and hydraulic steer. In return I get to build the Wheel horse of my choice. 1 down fall is I do not have the engine for the C175 but the 520hc and the c160 8 speed are whole and run but need work. I am partial to the C175 a little but only reason being is it is a 1980 model and I am too.

Got this tractor this past weekend to try to restore its really beat but it’s earned every part as battle scars. Once I looked at the hour meeter (after I bought it) it suprised me to see 6,353 hours on this bad boy , never seen anything that high just shows how tough these machines really are. Anyways it’s a 312 classic don’t know the year or how to check I’m use to the 60s wheel horses so first tractor I have that’s newer than anything I got but let me know is this a find or a crap shoot , taking it and my few wheel horses to the wheel horse show if you see it there

We will miss seeing you at the Big Show, Mr. Schmidt. Taking it one day at the time is the wise thing to do in this case . I'll see to it you are put on the prayer list at Church. I'm sure James Blankenship will do the same at his church. You should have my cell phone number, feel free to call anytime. Also, If you need James and I to bring anything back from the big show, just let us know. I will keep whatever it is at my house until we can get it to you ( just like that 953 several years ago ) Van

Most of the remotes play hide and seek with me.... .. and when i find them mostly the Batteries are empty. i hate remotes, beeing old school. i like hard Switches and knobs you can see and the give you a real feedback. My World is Analog. We have several Remotes, but i use them only if urgently needed.

I have some special events planned for the Wheel Horse Show this year, one being a Memorial for my friend Phil Bowlings as we had been friends over 20 years. The second to my knowledge has not been done at any tractor show ..... ever! And there is two people shaking in their shoes for what I have planned. Have y'all heard of the biblical chapter of UniDrive??? It will be Wheel Horse fun and a memory. See y'all soon. Wild Bill in Richmond, VA

While I LOVED Mythbusters, calling it a science show makes me smile. I realize remotes mostly transmit and don't receive, but it has long amazed me that they don't have a beeper on them to help you find them when they are misplaced. Too costly I guess and perhaps the batteries wouldn't be up to the task. Steve

Got the 2 floor boards modified, trimmed and mounted. The right side board was 2 inches wider than the left so had to make one out of 2 for the left side to keep it symmetrical and provide enough foot room. Cut down the belt (chain) guard a bit shorter and got that mounted. It didn't look right full length and also got to add another WH part on top of it with the old mower blade guard to cover one of the sprockets. AFTER BEFORE

Easy fix. One leash on each side that reaches only to the far side. Poo Poo CAN'T get out.

Put the C160 engine in the C175. You get a great Kohler k341 that is simple to maintain and a Eaton 1100 Hydro that is one of the best Hydro's of that era. PS if you decide to look for a Kohler twin for the C175 be sure it is a Series II. The Kohler Series I had lube issues when working on a slope.

The solid seat pan sat twisted, like the base was welded on wrong. I think I have a fix for it! Since there will be so many at the show, I need to make ours not get lost! The hood will remain as is, and the seat is pretty unique.

Thank ya! I tend to go overboard on my stuff. I worried that shoving the brush cutter in places I couldn't really see might overstress the front hitch alone. It can of course pivot/ bounce up, but maybe this hitch will tolerate it.
  47. 3 points
Speaking of hitches... My front mower hitch was built to have two purposes: one to carry the front mount deck, and secondary a receiver for a front trailer hitch. I've seen several members talk about moving trailers with one of these, but I had no idea. This might be the smartest thing I ever built! It's like an aircraft tug now. So much easier to maneuver a trailer around! And another shameless plug for LED headlights for those who still don't like them. Drops my digital voltmeter by .2 volts... Tractor is in the same position, not even facing me.

All of them!!! Well truth be told a C-160 8 is a bucket lister but this certain in Maine hoards them and paints them fruity tooty... I'll not mention names...

Pics would help.,, Im a gear guy so i'd go with the C160. Of course, if you bought all three there'd be no need to make a decision...
