5 pointsGreat show with great weather! Nice to see you all again. Other than a breakfast sandwich and the usual sausage/peppers/onions at lunch the only thing I bought was another pair of IH/Cub cast wheel weights. What I DID NOT buy today was a coffee as Eric @ebinmaine had a fresh vat of his cowboy coffee..good stuff!!

5 pointsWashed the 1984 Work Horse GT-1600 and the 1994 520H… They weren’t happy about getting a bath… The oil light on the 520H started blinking as I was taking her back to the stables, and the Work Horse was running rough.

4 pointsFinished up the tailgate for the dump cart, once paint finishes drying will put it to use. Calling it my vault door, way way over built but it's of scrap I had laying around so it works for me! But I hope I don't drop it on my foot someday

4 pointsShifting between Hi and Low range involves a small fork gear and a fragile fork. The fork can wear, bend and even break one of the forks. If it still shifts, it is not broke, but it could be one or both of the other two. At this point, it is important to be at a complete stop and, using your feet to rock the horse back and forth a little, will usually work and save any more wear on those parts. Double clutching may also ease the selection for you.

3 pointsI was skeptical and only used sealed in my non workers but, since they are so easy to replace I went ahead and tried them in my workers. I won't go back to greasable any more. It also seems to defy logic but it's been 6+years now with absolutely no issues and my workers are very heavily used. My thoughts are that they seal the crud out. I went a step further and tried them in the mower decks. Again, no issues at all. .

3 pointsYou can basically do the exact same thing by loosening the large oil line from the bottom Right side of the rear end that feeds up to the pump. One of mine has a stripped out drain plug and that is what I do with it.

2 pointsAs far as bearings go I always use either SKF, ***, Timken or INA. SKF has a website where you can select the type of bearing you want which leads you to a page where you can choose the desired dimensions. You then choose the one to your liking and write down the number (mostly four/five digits with two letters) and either search that number online OR, what I prefer, go to a good hardware or farm supply store and have them order the desired number bearing from SKF. Edit.. the *** bit was meant to say F.A.G. (without the dots). I can see why that was 'blurred' but it's actually a real brand

2 pointsThe only bronze in any of the Wheel Horse manual 2 piece transmissions is the two bushings in the cluster gear. Like Squonk said...No worries, use the GL5.

2 pointsYou won't find GL4 anymore unless you get it from some specialty co. $$$$ . Most WH transmissions have very little bronze/brass soft metal with the exception being the 3 piece 5003/5010's. You will be gone well before you will ever have to worry about it. Keep your oil clean and keep out the water and you'll be fine.

2 pointsThanks for doing that, we are all looking forward to a successful conclusion to this. My guess is that the UV shrinks the plastic and since we tend to keep our GT-14s under cover when not in use shrinkage isn't going to be an issue.

2 pointsYes usually. The belly hitch at least. Bolts right up. Where you may have issue will be the front hitch where the mule drive goes. You may have to weld tabs on the sides of a front hitch so it will bolt on. The 300/400/500 series use the front hitch as an integrated axle pivot, so it won't just bolt onto the Charger. Dunno who's pic this is, but it's how you'll have to do it.

2 pointsDid some mowing with the 312-A yesterday, but I tried to start the GT-1848 and it wouldn't start, so I had to go into diagnostic mode. This is the one with the Honda GX610 re-power. Turns out the fuel solenoid on the carb was shot, so it was staying closed. I don't need to worry about gravity flooding the carb, so I opted to just cut off the pin so it's always open. It was full of gas & possibly some water, so I guess the O-ring hadn't been sealing properly. I don't think most WH engines have these solenoids but the Honda engines do, and I think the Vanguards do. I may replace it at some point but the tractor runs great again, so I pulled my daughter's boyfriend's project car so I could mow where it was sitting, then mowed some of the rougher stuff with the GT.

2 pointsI should really roll mine. This is a roller that @dclarke built and give to Dan and I. Made from a propane cylinder I think and filled with sand which makes it a chore to move between his place and mine. Hi test pillow block bearings!

2 pointsJust received about an inch of rain so I figured I was a good time to roll the lawn with the 418-C. I tried this last weekend but the roller axle broke. After some fabrication and welding I was back in business. I can’t complain though because I bought it in 1984 for 20 bucks and that was the first time I ever had a problem with it!

1 pointI completely understand!! I did mobile auto glass for many years and did a job for the people that were going to start milking goats. I had goat inside the car while I was working on it!! I also had a pair of pet goats when I was a kid and they followed some kids to school one morning and got in the school! Randy

1 pointI always put a tank return tee and valve to reduce pressure to the doesy tops if needed and also agitate the mix in the tank .Just drill a tight fitting hole for the return hose

1 pointFor general wiring such as Magneto to ignition switch, solenoid to ignition switch, lights, safety switches and hour meter I would use 16 AWG. The wire from the voltage regulator should be 12 or 14AWG and the wire from the battery to 30 amp fuse then on to your ignition switch should be 12AWG. The battery cables to ground, solenoid and to the starter should be 6 AWG. DelCity https://www.delcity.net/ is the best place to buy good quality terminal ends and the 6 AWG leads. The colored primary wires they sell are in 100 foot rolls for $ 12.30, the 30 foot roll you would get at the local auto parts store is about $ 12 with three colors available while DelCity has a good selection of colors and it is good quality copper wire. Do not use terminal ends from Harbor Freight.

1 pointPressed in bearings in a 5025 Trans. Waiting for 1 more input shaft bearing. Used press on the capped ones and custom arbors and 7/16" fine thread rod for the axle bearings and non capped ones. They have a lip to set the depth for the seals.

1 pointDid the flywheel today. A bolt had snapped off and all the magnets were loose. Should be ok now.
