I found your grease gun @peter lena on Amazon, I had no idea you had your own line of grease guns!!!

I know we have had lots of different steering wheel posts on Red Square. Many about taking one off , unusual ones, how to restore some versions and replacements for custom tractors. However, I thought I would start a post to see if we could gather photos of the different versions Wheel Horse used on models made over the years. I will start with some of the steering wheels I have (I took these pictures this morning ) . I have more but it will take some time to get the rest!

Cleaned the 42 inch recycler mower deck, put new blades on and greased all the spindles. Mowed great after the maintenance work was done.

Well I finally made it back on to the Square......thanks to Sparky! Planning on making the trip east and brining a ton of collectibles as it is time for others to enjoy them as much as I have. A bunch of parts for folks to consider. I will post some photos once I get an idea of what is going to be loaded up. Most importantly it will be nice to meet up with some old friends.

There’s a part where he asks his neighbor boy to pee on his tree every morning. The good ole boy neighbor snuck a red maple into my yard today and when I found him out he made me swear to water it until it’s healthy.

Ive never liked ball hones myself, i use a 3 stone, crank up the tension and use brake cleaner for lube. Cuts fast, hard on the stones, but leaves a nice pattern quickly.

That's great that you will be heading east. But since it's been awhile, some of the "old friends" haven't aged well, so we'll be sure to wear our name tags so you can recognize us.

The 3/4" round stub shaft that goes into the hub has a visible retaining ring in a groove. This ring can slip out of the groove so there is no pressure on the clutch. It just pushes the stub shalt into the ball bearing. You will be able to see this by observing the two ends of the retaining ring. If that is what has happened remove the retaining ring. These rings a stamped when made so one side has sharp edges and the other side has rounded edges. You want the sharp edge facing out so it is better engaged in the groove in the shaft.

Well after taking everybody's advice and I still can't thank you enough for all the information I have rewired the ignition. I ran out of colored wire so I had to substitute blue for green and yellow with a knot for white but I have everything written down as to what goes where. I also replaced the coil, the condenser, and the points. I know I have to replace the solenoid due to half thing to jump across terminals. But it turns over so hopefully with this new temporary wiring job it will run. Cross your fingers!

Thanks Richard for the clarification and careful explanation. We got everything wired up yesterday and now are well on the road of reassembly. Zach is having so much fun putting the pieces back together… I purchased to chromed button heads for the highly visible outer fender bolts and here Zach is installing those. He is getting to use “his tools” throughout the process and I have to keep reminding myself that this kid is only 9 years old. He is doing such a great job. I’m hoping that we can arrange for a “show-and-tell” at the school before the end of the school year. That smile is priceless!

I love the part where he is using black shoe polish to fill in the sidewall checks in his tires to pass tech inspection. Speaking of tech inspection, I'm in Houston at the moment. Going to be one of the robot tech inspectors for the world finals that are going to be held starting tomorrow. Somewhere between 600 and 700 teams. Two days of qualification rounds, 8 sets of double elimination rounds to sort out the top 32 teams. Then one set of double elimination rounds to determine the champions.

Watched that movie a few times. Great story. Urinating next to a tree , specially a fruit tree has proven advantages since human urine is a great source of several fertilizing elements. It is also sterile when ejected from body so there is no bacterial contamination of its recipients. There is also a good suggestion for alleviating prostate problems in that movie. Actually there is a lot to learn by watching it and paying attention to what is done and said.

While your decarboning the head pull the carb and clean it. Then while your that far pull and clean the breather, Then pull, clean and lap the valves and check their clearance.

Rotella 30W all year. Made a very dirty engine look like this.

@hotajax regularly use rotella # 30 over summer fall. no issues , prefer the 5-30 over winter , the cold temp change over with the 5-30 , is smoke free with no issues at all . have done a lot of oil / lubrication testing / trying , engines like the current set up , with zero usage , changing it at about 30 hrs , and color telling me its time , pete

The thing to note before getting too deep is the needed direction of rotation. I suspect the blower’s driven pulley has to turn clockwise when looking from above. A gearbox mounted under the tractor on the blower frame driven via a shaft extending out to the right under the PTO would do it if there’s room under the tractor. I’d think of one off a Gravely front-mount mower or off a later JD mower deck from a 400 series tractor. A standard front “mower” mule would also do it, driving a dual-pulley jackshaft mounted directly under the tractor engine on the blower’s frame. Less complicated, and handles the vertical lift motion of the blower smootlhly. Switching the pulleys in the mule lets you reverse the rotation direction of the driven pulley, if needed.

It's there, click on download this file, download the top file, ( TIPL ). Scroll down to the bottom, deck belt is # 3. Yes they are Toro part numbers but a 4L63 is the belt type & length, ( 63 inches ). Any hardware store should have it.

tension maybe not enough. 1...pull hairpin out. 2..thread trunnion towards seat one turn 3...recheck pto engagement still not enough tension? repeat steps 1, 2 and 3 above pto lever should 'snap over' obviously do not get it crazy tight could also be clutch lining worn out. if so, replace clutch lining. hope this helps

I have a couple of my 520's now running the cheap $15.00 Chinese replica's (that I bought on ebay) and they seem to work just fine.

I plan on using them to move mulch around my yard in a couple weeks.. that’s my excuse to buy them lol

They are like a bay wagon. For someone who’s never done it it’s a pain. I went to school on a farm so we use to move hay wagons around all the time. Takes an extra bit of coordination.

Fired up the old girl and did a little yard work, now that most of the snow has finally gone. She's well used but still runs and works great.

Also bring a folding chair. makes it easier to listen to all the jokes and lies that are told. I always bring a back pack, holds all my ole man pills and place to pack all the small pieces and parts I think I need to bring home.

Bring shorts, sun glasses, rain coat, winter coat and water wings. No telling what the weather will be. The most important thing to bring is firm handshake for all the new friends you will make. tractors will be everywhere but the great people you will meet is the reason to attend the gathering.

Update SOLD SOLD SOLD 90% cosmetic restored 417. Has 900plus hours runs smooth some smoke on start up. All tins blasted ant painted using single stage victory red. New decals from Terry, floorboard pads etc. needs finishing cosmetics like paint dash and engine. Not perfect and has some other small items to finish up. I will deliver to big show for 1300.
