It was a nice day with plenty of warm sun so I thought why not pull it out and install the new air cleaner. Hope you enjoy the picks.

This just got air lifted, well lowered, into my yard. Traded my basket case Panzer T205 for it. I'm thinking I made out ok. @ebinmaine I can now join the C series crew lol. The trans is free and shifts fine. The engine turns by hand,no carb. The clutch spins,attach o magic pulley is froze. Tierods are rusted away. Just a quick chance over.

I did my first oil change on my new to me 701 this morning. I hooked the plow up and headed for the garden. I was surprised at how well the little 7 horsepower Kohler did. Plowed like a champ! The only issue I encountered was a little belt slippage and a squirt of belt dressing solved that quickly. It was an incredibly fun Easter day here in eastern Iowa for me! The forecast is for temps in the 70's and 80's all week with no rain in sight until next weekend. Me and this little red gremlin that my wife has affectionately named "Betty" are gonna tear up some more ground before the week is over! Hope y'all are having a great weekend! Happy Easter also!

Put the dozer blade on the '73 for the first time today. Buried the blade and spun both rear tires to confirm that the LS gear box is working as it should I'll put some weights on it this week and put it to work soon. Definitely need some chains if anyone has recommendations on where to get a set.

Annual Easter cruise with some of my nieces & nephews. This year I used my new to me 633 that I got in trade from @Chrishar. Believe it or not, this was actually the very first time that I have driven this tractor. Very happy with the tractor so far. Sure is set up with one heck of a road gear.

The propane heater in my house has a control board that costs just about $700 with tax and shipping. I have used FOUR of them since it was put in service 11 years ago. My standby generator also has a very expensie control board, pushing $400 bucks. Am now on my 3rd board in 9 years. Took me several hours of hunting around on the 'net and making phone calls, but finally found somebody that does it. Price was about 1/3 of buying a new board, and it came back to me wrapped up very securely. The turn-around time back to me was less than a week. \ GLOBAL ELECTRONIC SERVICES, INC. of Buford, GA. Polite, reasonably priced, and fast service.

One other possibility. When I built my low rider, I used an engine from a parted out C-141. I cut the front and back angled ends off the shaker plate and used it as a engine mounting plate. I don't remember if I had to drill holes in the frame or used existing holes. In this case, the PTO hoop plate would exist. Of course spacers would still be required under the plate to put the engine at the correct elevation for the belt guard.

A cheaper alternative 4 spacers and some washers. you may have to drill two holes in the frame. I didn't have to.

Anthony - 2 things. If you eliminate the shaker plate, the engine height is too low - and that is if there are holes (I do not thinks so) to mount it. Some folks here have made their own solid spacers to eliminate the vibration mounts and keep the shaker plate. I bought a used set of CNC'd solid aluminum ones - they are on fleabay and work great - bolt right in place. They also eliminate the twist of the engine shaft towards the rear when you engage the PTO...

The Imagine was great, but it was a bit cumbersome to load and unload. The Wolf Pack toy hauler has been great for that! Though it’s 3’ longer overall, we have feelings of shrinking most times, because the 13’ garage takes up a lot of the space we were used to. The first thing we did was to get new tires after purchasing it. Just make sure you get high pressure valve stems when you have a heavy load! On our way to the Big Show last year, we made it to Toledo before realizing that all our new tires were nearly flat. The weight of the full garage pushed air between the valve stems and the wheels u til they were 20-25 lbs I recall. I’m glad we stopped to kick the tires and find some rec fuel for the show!

I'm guessing that these are Vanguard engines? You may be able to use the heads but I'm not positive on that. As for the pistons and rods, NO. 16hp pistons would be too small for an 18hp. The stroke is different on the engines as well so the rods will not work either. 16hp Bore - 68mm Stroke - 66mm 18hp Bore - 71.88mm Stroke - 70.1mm

Thanks fellas. It's fixed. I did both things Pull Start said. When I went to pull the plug, the little tip that screws on to the end of the spark plug was almost ready to fall off. So I'm a moron, it was most likely an ignition problem because that tip was so loose. Runs like a dream again. Thanks. owe you guys a beer.

i t would be nice if lowell or somebody with access to a fab shop made/sold F plate reinforcements. sure would save a lot of frames. just an idea regards mike

Several box folding machines have hot glue applicators on them with a circuit board to regulate the glue temperature. We had several units at our farm and neighboring farms and would have a spare board or two on hand. Price for having them rebuilt was about $ 100 and new ones were about $ 300. When the board on one of our newer units went out I sent it off and when it was returned I noticed a fresh solder connection on one component. I took the board to an electronics store and they identified it as a particular value resistor (don't remember the resistance). I asked how much those resistors cost and was to they were a nickel apiece. I bought twenty of them and we never had to send a board off again.

Did the seller of this tractor tell you it ran the way it is presently wired? Could be a previous owner changed flywheel and converted it to a magneto ignition. Remove the flywheel shroud and take a look. Do not let 12 volt power get to the magneto coil. As for the volt meter I like that better than the generator light and would keep it if you are not dedicated to doing a total restoration back to original.

Forgot to add look down into the coil socket with a flashlight and check for any corrosion in ther. Clean as required. That's OK I'm no good at making model tractors out of toothpicks either...

Saved the best of the bunch for now, the other I marked out was an undersized test. That leaves #1 good except for finish issues on right side #2 lettering etc. Slightly offset, tick Mark's easily break off. #3 lettering etc too light All 3 have slight top finish artifacts Gonna create a listing in the store..$15 shipping included. How's that sound? I'll add any other seconds as we go lol!

Okay.. I feel a little stupid.. never thought about the weight on the seatpan when you actually go SIT on the seat So obviously then the tire rubbed.. Decided to to do the right thing and add proper spacers.

This used to be home away from home. Until we realized we have a new travel trailer. Maybe we should travel!

Too much belt dressing could become a problem when you want to stop and the belt wants to grab. The drive belt for your 701 is a 1/2" X 70" and should slip a bit under excessive load, time to select a lower gear. A new Kevlar belt from Tractor Supply should solve the problem.

Made several trips to Disney World. My Coleman pop up pulled by a Ford Bronco. Probably our greatest vacation. In the fall of 1988, our oldest son was junior at Penn State and we dropped our youngest off for his first year at WVU. The nest was empty so we kept driving West and camped for 30 days in National Parks and on open BLM lands. Yellowstone, Mesa Verde, Grand Canyon, Painted Desert, Rocky Mt. and many others. We camped in the 24 foot Cuddy Cabin on Raystown Lake and Delaware Bay from 2000 to 2010. After a week long bear hunt in Northern Quebec camping in an old abandon trappers cabin with no running water, I insisted all my passengers bath for the ride home. 1970 Almost forgot the Shadow Cruiser slide in truck camper. The four grandsons loved the cabover bunk and emergency exit.

I’ve been looking for a very long time for a rj35. Finally found one and best of all it was 20 minutes from home. A great addition to my 57 rj conversion tractor and rj58.

I used the cnc motor mounts and chose it so I wouldn't have to pull the motor. It was easy to lift one side at a time with a prybar to replace them. Randy

You can buy foam almost anywhere. But only get rubber foam. Here in Michigan I ordered from a company called Foam Express. I only got the (lux firm) it's made for seats and was as good or better then the original foam.

How much someone give me for this one that didn't come out quite perfect? Just kidding! I do have some pretty rough plates without the colored lettering if they'd be useful. I'll get pic tonight if anyone is interested.

I run Napa 3L370W belts on my gear drive decks with no issues for years. It's not the belts fault as long as you had them tight enough and they were the correct length. Do you have the number of the belt you used? Belts do not stretch either. The sides wear down giving the illusion of a longer belt because they sit down deeper into the pulley when they wear. You either hit something, a stick got in there and flipped the belt. Or the cross bearings are starting to fail. I have seen those bearings fail where they stop spinning and the power from the engine will keep turning the shaft and wear down the shaft where the bearing rides. The bearing is supposed to be a press fit on the shaft and into the bearing stands. When this all happens the shaft is shot ,the stands are shot and the shaft can move side to side causing an alignment issue and start wearing down a belt and throw it off

The Hitchhiker was just that. We have some elderly friends who needed it hauled to Daytona Beach. Norman likes to haul! I can make time! Let’s go!

Not exactly today, but recent progress on my front porch project. Got all of the long rafters up and am starting on the short rafters on the sides of the porch.

Here's a few pics. Jim you'll recognize the yard in the first 3 I think. The Big Octagon tent ⛺ has been called Taj Mahal by our friends. We have a queen size mattress and two little storage units for end tables.

Tetons / Yellowstone 2020... Our teardrop "Covid Bubble". No longer have it but it was perfect for couple years...
