Been a good while since I posted anything on this tractor. We have still be picking at it most nights after work and whenever we can. Progress seemed to get slow but we are for sure getting there now. Have it most all out together. Just have fender and hood to paint and put on and some decals. The last picture I thought you guys might find interesting and explains why this tractor had incorrect frame when we started taking it apart. Here is a picture of me on this tractor. My best guess is grandpa had a lawn ranger around when he dug the raider out of the fire so he put 6 speed in the lawn ranger along with bigger tires and wheels front and rear. I assume he blew up the small engine and then that’s when the hood was taken off to make room for the big Wisconsin. You guys ever see a 6 speed lawn ranger lol. Grandpa was creating stuff long ago. That picture was roughly 30 years ago

As mentioned in others topics i've been busy with work and helping my better half move her horse closer to home. The horse was in a stable before but the people there seemed to care about money more than animal wellbeing. So that was no longer an option. After searching high and low we were able to find a nice field of about half an hectare (1.3 acre) we can use for free only about a mile away from our home. Unfortunately the fences were not great so they needed work and also there's no water or power nearby. My gf worked very hard a fixed most of the fences herself. She asked me (okay I sort of voulunteered) to build her a waterwagon so she can keep the ponies hydrated. The base structure was made out of I-beams I had laying around. The axle plus four tires were purchased off of marketplace for $50,- a deal I can't complain about. The rest of the small stuff like lights, nosewheel, etc. was purchased locally. Cost me a few late evenings but the endresult turned out pretty good.

A friend of mine is building a dirt track stock car and asked me to shoot some paint on it for him. Was happy to help him out when I found out that I would be spraying red. The hood & rear deck lid are made from pre-painted aluminum and will be getting wrapped with a decal so we did not bother to paint them. The nose cone & rear bumper are molded in red plastic. They are a PITA to get paint to stick to so they were left unpainted as well. Looks good enough to go trade paint with other cars on the track.

Getting closer on my IH 656 project. Been a 3 week project so far, but I've only had time to work on it one day of each of those weeks. Hope to be bolting the engine to the tranny and bolting the front end back on next week end.

Alright Sparks, I'll put a seat on there for ya but I'm gonna wear this shirt.

Also been working on my 551 lately. Got the engine all squared away. Now all I need for that is a belt guard. also been cleaning up this 300hr 520.

Thanks for being a good sport Kevin, and others! The reason I have'nt been present on here much, or have'nt posted any updates is that between my new job and my gf moving her horse closer to our home I have little time left to work on the mini International. That being said, the horse seems to be happy again and most of the work on the paddock is done for now so i'm hoping to free up some time to get this project rolling again. I can assure you that the next update will actually be an update with actual progress rather than just teasers Anyway, thanks again for your support!

I didn't do this one I was just a friendly observer. Back in my GM days the guy working next to me was replacing an engine in an S-10 Blazer . Normally when one of us did that we'd have parts strewn allover and around the bench. Pretty much everything has to come off unless you raise the body off. He gets the new engine in and is running out of parts to reinstall when he starts pitching a fit. He found the flywheel he had forgotten to install. So he had to tear a lot back down to get the flywheel in. Here's where the joke comes in: A few month's later he's replacing an engine in another vehicle. Another guy across the way was doing the same but was waiting for parts. The first guy is almost done and goes and get a cup of coffee. The 2nd guy grabs the flywheel of of his engine and carries it over to the first guys bench and leans it against the leg of the bench. First guy comes back with his coffee and sees the flywheel and is like WT.... I CAN"T BELIEVE I DID IT AGAIN!!! Then he calms down remembering he bolted the torque converter up so someone was pulling a fast one on him!

That 953 looks like it’s got a real nice seat on it! I love the round hoods!

I got the robotics team captain with the 'old as dirt' your shoe is untied trick today. We were at a robotics meet today, standing in the pits discussing an upcoming match. I casually mentioned that his shoe was united. He denied it, so I glanced down at his shoe. He took the bait and looked down, as I reminded him what the date was. Last year, he didn't fall for that gag. Old age, patience, and treachery won out - again.

I’ve been looking for a very long time for a rj35. Finally found one and best of all it was 20 minutes from home. A great addition to my 57 rj conversion tractor and rj58.

Started the day watching the 🦌 in the backyard. After that the BBT and I spent some time getting the area cleared where the gray portable garage will be permanently located. Just downhill a bit from the barn. The ramp that was built into the excavation project is too high and steep for continued usage so we're going to use that very dirt to build a flat spot at the base of its current location. We'll clear a new path out the far side of the barn site for traveling up out of the forest with firewood. It'll be longer and won't go as high. MUCH more tractor friendly. In between puttering around with Millie we also moved the old frame from what was the original tractor shed. The tan colored portable garage. That'll be Trina's greenhouse out back by the garden.

There is a pretty cool member map feature. It might help you locate new tractor friends, but unfortunately there is not a huge west coast presence here…

It is squared up and tack welded in the corners. We pulled this Chevy 10 bolt around front, flipped and rotated the springs, and now I’m working on a lift design. In my head of course!

Many years ago we were building a house and the bricklayers were working on-site. They would put sand in the bottom of the fireplace to keep any mortar from sticking to the firebrick that might drop as they were laying the chimney. After the bricklayers left for the day, I went down and gathered up some multi-colored mud and formed it into--well I'll let your imagination as to what it looked like. I put it in the sand on the floor of the the firebox then backed into the fireplace opening and left my boot prints in the sand. The next morning we were shingling the roof. The bricklayer climbed up our ladder, came up on the roof with us mad a all get out. "SOMEBODY TOOK A DUMP IN MY FIREPLACE!" He was really ticked and went on and on who would have done such a thing and how that was just awful..... Johnnie continued to tell us how he made Willie, his hodman scoop it up and take it out and bury it. He said "Willie said that was the stinkiest thing he every smelled!" He said "That man's boots were huge and I don't know how a man that big could get back into then firebox and do that"! CJ and I just sat there listening to him acting like we didn't know a thing. After Johnnie returned to work, we decided not to let anyone know who the culprits were. Them boys were much bigger than we and Willie didn't have a pristine record. Years later we told Johnnie what we had done and we all got a good laugh out of it.

Just make sure you haul it either empty or full, not partial . that's when you get into trouble from "surge". 250 gallons @ about 8 lbs = a ton of water.

I guess I can say I passed one of the tests of mastering one of the hardest things to do on a wheel horse tractor. I removed the hubs from the axles. I found a round half inch steel plate on eBay to make a puller and I drilled holes in it for the half inch bolts and a 1-in hole in the center for the 1-in puller bolt. My Dewalt 1/2 inch battery impact gun is comparable to an air impact gun I measured the distance between the hub and the puller at each bolt to make sure it was even so it would pull evenly. I used a wrench to hold the nut in between the hub and puller. Then I used the impact to tighten the bolt pulling off the hub. I had to use a little heat off my rosebud tip on my oxy acetylene bottles to heat the one hub red hot before it would come off. The other side came off without heat. I did soak them for at least a week with penetrating oil before trying to pull them off.

Got the farmstrosity hood paint scheme done today waiting on GT14 fenders before I cut the rear fenders off. It's loose started down pour shortly after I took the tape off

There once was a geezer in Maine, his feet on a hike were in pain, what he figured he’d do, was change to a shoe, now he’s happily hiking again.

Today I removed the hub and axle seal from my C-121. It has been leaking for a while but that helped with the hub removal. Lucky for me a simple three jaw puller and very little effort, it slid right off. The seal put up a little fight but I got it out and then ran out of time. Hopefully tomorrow I can install the new one and check this off my list!

Something funny happened after I read this… I was on a footwear forum and they were talking about tractors…😝

Not April fools but I had a roommate in college who was a PITA. The whole floor hated him and he STUNK! He would stay up late every night bothering everyone. He had one of those cheap $2 plastic alarm clocks and he set it for like 6AM even though he didn't get up until 10. He would just keep hitting the snooze button. Finally I had enough so I tore his clock apart and moved the hand that set the alarm. So if he set it to 6 it wouldn't ring until 2. So he kept missing classes . He figured something went haywire with it so he figured out where to set it so it would go off at 6 again. So I changed it so it would go off at 2 again. After a couple of days of that I walked in to see him throwing the clock out the window!

While working at a motorcycle shop, my co-worker was putting together the top end of a Harley engine. After he had the rocker boxes on and was about ready to put the gas tank on to finish the job up I heard "SON OF A B----!!!" I walked over to his bike lift to see what the issue was. When I got over there he is standing there holding a wrist pin clip in his hand. "I forgot to put a wrist pin clip on when I installed the pistons" He tore the engine back down to discover that all of the wrist pins clips were installed. Now he was just furious. I never told him that I threw a wrist pin clip on his bike lift when he wasn't looking. Same guy, same shop a year later. He was helping me push a full dressed Harley from the parking lot into the shop. I'm pushing on the handle bars he's pushing on the back. The whole time he's complaining how hard this bike is to push. When we got it into the shop he was huffing and puffing and took a break. I pushed the bike up onto the lift by myself with no problem. He asked "How did you push that up there so easily?" This time I admitted that I was riding the front brake and letting him do all the work in the parking lot.

I put the weld repaired seat pan back on my C-160 with added Super-Strut to support the seat so the seat pan won't be fatigued again. Before after

Got it welded up. It's not beautiful and the paint that I have is a shade off but it's under the seat. And added Superstrut to the seat pan to support the weight load and keep the seat pan from cracking again.

Got the plow figured out. So far it looks like tractor has only needed a bunch of minor things. 🤞 Got it running great Still need to figure hitch out. I will order the cable (broken) but I gotta figure a work around the lift. I intend to keep plow on all the time. However, every time I raise plow it will raise the hitch??? I intend to use tractor mostly for pulling a small trailer so I may just fix hitch stationary. Cleaning up the drive/clutch pulleys did seem to help the harsh engagement although they didn't appear to be all that bad.

I did a little cleaning up, not much more I can do inside. I found a good running Honda GX engine on a pressure washer frame. I planned on using @elcamino/wheelhorse via @19richie66’s 6.5 Predator engine from the 2018 Big Show, but I might as well keep that one N.O.S. A little while longer!

I have had 5 of them. Two have 1800 hrs on them and still run strong. One had 600 hrs on it and had severely ovaled bores and got parted out. Never a problem with valve seats but all my belt guards are ventilated. All have/had issues with the nine pin. I believe they would all see 2k hours with proper maintenance and regular oil changes. No doubt PO lack of love was the issue with the ovaled bores. Cooling fins plugged tight not to mention plugged hydros and sludge in the oil pan. Everything I have seen boiled down to lack of maintenance. Onans did not do well to "run it like you stole it".

Hitch pin is already out and the GT-14 steering wheel doesn't have a roll pin so you are having a great day.

May want to consider changing that word to FOOTWEAR. If you're going to get serious about hiking it may take some time to find and acclimate to a pair of favorite feet covers. I started hiking in 2013. Got into progressively larger mountains in 14 and 15. 2016 we were doing some pretty serious day hikes. MANY were over 12 miles. Twice we did 16 miles in one day. That whole time I thought I NEEDED boots. I never found the right one. I tried Keen. Very comfortable but no durability. Merrell. Those were better. I tried a store boot of ll bean. ... Meh. After my body pains set in about early 2017 I started doing reading. Research. A LOT of learning. Some folks... Just ain't boot folks. Turns out I needed a lightweight shoe. I've used "approach shoes". Cross trainers. Running sneakers. All work well in different ways. One big hint here..... Find some light weight ankle gaiters. They'll keep the dirt and grub out ya footwear. HUGE help. Go to stores. Try em on. You'll find the right fit.

Apples is all loaded and ready for the trek home! Had a great visit with Guy and wish we could stayed longer!

I thought about it. I might use a jack of sorts, or a winch. In the end, it would be a lot of work each day to lift the jacks (or lower), run the out, hook up, move it, return said . If I can build it to be all inclusive, I may find help easier
