7 pointsWhile working at a motorcycle shop, my co-worker was putting together the top end of a Harley engine. After he had the rocker boxes on and was about ready to put the gas tank on to finish the job up I heard "SON OF A B----!!!" I walked over to his bike lift to see what the issue was. When I got over there he is standing there holding a wrist pin clip in his hand. "I forgot to put a wrist pin clip on when I installed the pistons" He tore the engine back down to discover that all of the wrist pins clips were installed. Now he was just furious. I never told him that I threw a wrist pin clip on his bike lift when he wasn't looking. Same guy, same shop a year later. He was helping me push a full dressed Harley from the parking lot into the shop. I'm pushing on the handle bars he's pushing on the back. The whole time he's complaining how hard this bike is to push. When we got it into the shop he was huffing and puffing and took a break. I pushed the bike up onto the lift by myself with no problem. He asked "How did you push that up there so easily?" This time I admitted that I was riding the front brake and letting him do all the work in the parking lot.

7 pointsMy standard trick was to tape down the lever on the kitchen sink sprayer to give Mrs.K an unexpected shower when she filled the coffee pot. It doesn't work now with the sprayer on the spout. When I was still working and carrying a lunch, there was always a strip of cardboard in my sandwich on 4/1.

6 pointsI guess I can say I passed one of the tests of mastering one of the hardest things to do on a wheel horse tractor. I removed the hubs from the axles. I found a round half inch steel plate on eBay to make a puller and I drilled holes in it for the half inch bolts and a 1-in hole in the center for the 1-in puller bolt. My Dewalt 1/2 inch battery impact gun is comparable to an air impact gun I measured the distance between the hub and the puller at each bolt to make sure it was even so it would pull evenly. I used a wrench to hold the nut in between the hub and puller. Then I used the impact to tighten the bolt pulling off the hub. I had to use a little heat off my rosebud tip on my oxy acetylene bottles to heat the one hub red hot before it would come off. The other side came off without heat. I did soak them for at least a week with penetrating oil before trying to pull them off.

6 pointsGlad it worked out. Another good home for one of Jays tractors makes my day. Thank You

6 pointsI put the weld repaired seat pan back on my C-160 with added Super-Strut to support the seat so the seat pan won't be fatigued again. Before after

5 pointsWas you wearing the mask Mike? Come to think @Achto might have stole his too. I know I stole mine but yes they work great on a 857 or a 867 where mine is now. You wanna talk seat time! Note the turf tires and it still moved this whole pile of gravel. Feet had to be on the top of the blade to dig sometimes. I have some kind of PO lift bar that can't put down pressure on unless it's with my feet. I don't think any kind of gear jammer can do that tho. It does lift fairly high. I also don't know what the original lift bar should look like. @ebinmaine works one too. Since you bozos like pics ... Dan workin his...tellin ya Mike best implement for any horse. We was at a show and they hauled in a load just fer us to play in. Really poed me I didn't have mine! Note @Achto has only got turfs too! No ags no chains no weights but still hauled the mail!

4 pointsI’ve been looking for a very long time for a rj35. Finally found one and best of all it was 20 minutes from home. A great addition to my 57 rj conversion tractor and rj58.

4 pointsToday I removed the hub and axle seal from my C-121. It has been leaking for a while but that helped with the hub removal. Lucky for me a simple three jaw puller and very little effort, it slid right off. The seal put up a little fight but I got it out and then ran out of time. Hopefully tomorrow I can install the new one and check this off my list!

4 pointsHere I thought I was a little fanatical about keeping my tractors clean! @cleat has me beat! By the way, I think the chain four links from the top might have a slight twist in it. You’d better address that 🤣🤣😂

4 pointsApples is all loaded and ready for the trek home! Had a great visit with Guy and wish we could stayed longer!

4 pointsNot eaxctly an April Fool's joke, but one that never got old. After the Automation Company I worked for closed, My old boss and one of his friends, Mark, started their own 2 man show. Problem was my old boss was the seldom seen Sales Bee, and Mark was the worker Bee.... Mark had the tool to lift the buttons off a Microsoft keyboard - every now and then when he had had enough of his partner, Mark would switch 2 sets of buttons on the other guy's keyboard! The best part was the other guy was a 2 finger hunt and peck typist - would not realize the errors until using spellcheck!! He would throw a fit and grab the spare keyboard out of the closet and plug that one in. "Mark, there's something wrong with my keyboard - can you look at it??" Mark replies"not now, I'm busy - later" The other guy was always a late arrival at work, that gave Mark the time to switch the buttons back the following morning.. Best part, Mark never told him that is was him messing with his keyboard and it NEVER got old...!! True story...

4 pointsI also make my cables a tad long. They seem to work better when they have a little give to them.
-
4 pointsI get replacement cables at the show. Not cheap and you may have to trim them but they work great. I think you can still get them from Toro. Part #'s Throttle 102119 choke 102118. Vendor is Dave's Small engine Pottsville Pa 717 544 8320

4 pointsAwesome! My son @Coulter Caleb bought his first muscle car this past summer…me thinks you might like it Howie… these are a few of his senior pictures from last fall. I’ve been after him to start a thread and categorize his progress…but so far he hasn’t. the paint is about 35 years old and doesn’t look as good in person as it does in the pictures but it is a very nice driver that was owned for 35 years by the previous owner. It is a genuine 24237 GTO with PHS documentation although it doesn’t have the numbers matching original 400 motor. I figured you’d enjoy this one😎 (ps—before uncle Jim makes his displeasure known about the rims, Caleb does have the original date code correct Rallye II rims in fully restored shape—problem is they have 35 year old ‘brand new’ bias ply redlines🤨😳Someday, he’ll get a set of radial redlines for originality sake. For now he got that set of used Foose rims and Nitto 555R’s on all four corners with minimal wear for $500!)

3 points@MonstrosityYou laugh but I seriously thought as I was jacking up the tractor “I really should paint this jack!” Not kidding! 😂
-
3 pointsGot the farmstrosity hood paint scheme done today waiting on GT14 fenders before I cut the rear fenders off. It's loose started down pour shortly after I took the tape off
-
3 pointsI think that bottle jack needs a bit of paint I had to zoom in I thought it was wrapped in tin foil lol
-
3 pointsA friend of mine is building a dirt track stock car and asked me to shoot some paint on it for him. Was happy to help him out when I found out that I would be spraying red. The hood & rear deck lid are made from pre-painted aluminum and will be getting wrapped with a decal so we did not bother to paint them. The nose cone & rear bumper are molded in red plastic. They are a PITA to get paint to stick to so they were left unpainted as well. Looks good enough to go trade paint with other cars on the track.

3 pointsThere once was a geezer in Maine, his feet on a hike were in pain, what he figured he’d do, was change to a shoe, now he’s happily hiking again.

3 pointsWe found homes for a lot, but there is plenty left for the Big Show.
-
3 pointsI bought one. I don't work the damn thing though. That's the BBT's implement now.
-
3 pointsSomething funny happened after I read this… I was on a footwear forum and they were talking about tractors…😝
-
3 pointsNot April fools but I had a roommate in college who was a PITA. The whole floor hated him and he STUNK! He would stay up late every night bothering everyone. He had one of those cheap $2 plastic alarm clocks and he set it for like 6AM even though he didn't get up until 10. He would just keep hitting the snooze button. Finally I had enough so I tore his clock apart and moved the hand that set the alarm. So if he set it to 6 it wouldn't ring until 2. So he kept missing classes . He figured something went haywire with it so he figured out where to set it so it would go off at 6 again. So I changed it so it would go off at 2 again. After a couple of days of that I walked in to see him throwing the clock out the window!

3 pointsMy neighbor bought Jays (Roadapples) tractor from his estate. I’m sure he’d be happy to know it’s making its new owner happy! Rest in peace Jay, you’re still making people smile!

3 pointsNot for what you need Tony but while we're on the subject. @Achto scored some sheath and inner cable off fleabay or the jungle for his 953 resto. This stuff is the cats meow. The sheath has a plastic or nylon inner core that lets the wire slide slicker than snot on a door knob! The 1054 I just picked up from @Shynon had orginals on it that were terrible so i replaced and rerouted with it. Wow what a difference. It should work on any lever style that you can open up the clamp on at the lever. Sheath cuts easy with a cut off wheel & wire forms nice with z bend pliers. It came in a 50 ft roll of sheath and 100 ft roof of wire so enough to do the whole herd.
-
3 pointsCall in sick. Boss thinks you're fooling. Then don't show up. Jokes on him. He can't fire you because you did what you're supposed to.
-
3 pointsPat's Small Engine Plus. http://psep.biz/ I ordered 4 throttle cables from them recently. Pricing is excellent. They seem good. Time will tell. Trina's tractors aren't restorations that need to look correct so I ordered less expensive black knobbed pull cables for the chokes from a different place.

3 pointsI've made a little progress. got most of everything repaired and painted. Fix the axle pivot and add a front receiver hitch at the same time. Bolted some of it back together.

3 pointsEveryone needs a foot controlled hydro with a heated cab for snow removal. It just takes some longer to realize this. Welcome to the old wise guys club John.

2 pointsI have this thought in my head. I have about 10 days to make it work! We have 125 meat birds on the way, I need to make them a house. Momma wants it to fertilize our yard. I was planning on it fertilizing the deer pasture. Hey! What do I know? I have this thought of a greenhouse type frame, with a Predator 6.5 belt driving a truck axle to push it along. The drive and steer axles will need to be on some type of pivots, so the machine can drop to the ground once parked. I figure go-kart style swing arms, if you will. I might run a kart clutch, to start it up, and run the throttle from inside to be sure I don’t run any bawk bawks over. I can’t really delay. I’m starting by finding some material for the base structure. These pallet racking crossmembers are 6” tall and quite thick. They should do a decent job, once butt welded together.

2 pointsHi all. We are trying to get ready for this years camping/rv'ing season. Since we cannot get the RV out of storage yet? Because it keeps snowing here. We got another 10 inches last night. The place where I have it stored does not plow snow. So, here we are. Anyway. I have been buying all sorts of thing to upgrade our old class C hotrod. 1988 Coachmen Leprechaun. So? I have Many Many boxes of things piled up in the corner of the living room. My lovely bride has already booked us many weekend trips. She decided. So? I of course agreed that We will do some hiking. Now? I need some Hiking Boots. I wear Rocky and Georgia work boots. What kind of Hiking Boots do any of you all use / recommend. Ladies and gentlemen? Lets talk boots. Thanks Pat.
-
2 pointsI'll store it for you until you figure it out... Just trying to be helpful...
-
2 pointsThanks Ed! Wish I'd have brought more cash! Lol Really sad I missed a chance on the loader backhoe too! I'll find a hoe for Dug eventually. Really neat stand of bamboo they have too!
-
2 pointsIf you put a foot wide ski or some trailer tires on both ends of both side rails it should slide across grass so you could tow it to the new location each day. your yard looks very level.
-
2 pointsThanks! If I had a C series with this bad design I'd go ahead with the modification before it cracked. I'm really surprised that they didn't foresee the potential for the failure. If a big guy rides rough terrain that's a lot of metal fatigue.
-
2 pointsI've been using Merrell Moab 6" for a couple years now with great success. Did over a hundred miles in Utah @ National Parks last august and over a hundred @ Foothills trail in North Carolina/South Carolina in October. Got them on sale at Academy Sports.

2 pointsYeah buddy it is a bit vertically incorrect. That bench was built with the height of the old tool box in mind. When we relocate the workshop to the barn it'll only be used for transmission work. Likely at a raised height then.

2 pointsThis depends on the manufacturer & design. The Briggs & Stratton solid state ignition is an excellent no trouble system. Fact I convert most B&S engines I run across with points to solid state. Just cut the wire that goes to the points & install a solid state coil, job done. Much easier than pulling the flywheel to mess with the points. Sweet set up in your tractor!!
