12 pointsThis might be tough for those that have a large collection, but post up 2 of your favorite and why. The 520-H in deep snow with a 44'' 2 stage is my favorite picture. That was the most snow that I have ever had to clean up here in Maine since we moved here in 2008 and was very impressed how it handled that storm. This year I had no machines ready to do snow removal, but I believe the snow totals so far this year surpassed that. The 420-LSE next to the brook just looking relaxed sitting there with water flowing by is another favorite. Thanks All.

12 pointsMy second favorite could very well be one of these. The girls learning to “drive” on a not so @SylvanLakeWH style train. The safety built in was the fact that Putt Putt with no engine was light enough in the front, that the tires could drag sideways if Rylee were to steer the wrong way. The red Craftsman in the background was forest green, but we had recently painted it red to be like Putt Putt, resulting in a family paint war, with Mrs. P, Jada, Rylee and I. The paint did not wash off well and we wore our “wounds” from battle for the next coming days, if not weeks. That is my little BIL Blaze, the Marine currently stationed overseas. The garage in a box was my storage, my workshop, my man cave. We had a two stall garage under the family room in the house, too short to house any of our vehicles. It reminds me of our beginnings as a young family, and the little adventures and joys in life we experienced on that 1.57 acres.

12 pointsThese are the same image, obviously. Mrs. P has an awesome picture taking phone and she did an amazing job editing it. We had an impromptu family photo that day, with her dad’s side of the family. It all started with tractor rides with Unc. That’s me. It ended with snowball fights, snowman making, snow angles, and all that jazz. In my opinion, this could be on the cover of Time magazine. It kind of screams urban family life. A family worker like @PeacemakerJack’s Iron a horse 875, kids playing after the work is done, etc. I am pretty sure there are three generations in the background and for an unsuspecting picture looker, the classic lines of the Pond Ride Away Sr. tell them it could have been there since grandpa was a kid.

8 pointsI see this asked quite often on the forum so I thought I would post how I test them... First you will need a battery & volt meter. I'm using an old battery I have laying around to demonstrate, as long as the battery is around 12 volts you should be good. Starting voltage is 11.4 volts... Next you will need a low voltage AC power source, I'm using my old Lionel train transformer I've had since I was a kid, Lol. It's putting out 15.7 volts AC, perfect for testing purposes. An old computer power supply will work too, small engine stators generally put out around 45 AC volts at full throttle so anything UNDER that should work. ( no lower than about 15 volts though ) This is a common run of the mill 15 amp rectifier/regulator. You can see the two outside terminals marked AC, center terminal is marked B+. ( battery + ) Next I hook up the transformer to the AC terminals, polarity doesn't matter, ( my test leads are from an old timing light that died ). Next I hook up the B+ terminal to the positive+ terminal of the battery. Next I hook a test lead from the regulator/rectifier housing to the negative- post on the battery. They must be grounded to work. ( I run a #12 gauge wire from the mounting bolt to the negative terminal of the battery on my tractors to ensure a good ground. ) It's now ready to be plugged in, starting battery voltage is 11.03 volts. Transformer plugged in, voltmeter now reading 13.23 volts & slowly climbing, rectifier/regulator is good. Now I'll hook up an ammeter in the circuit to test it. First unplug the transformer. Next unplug the wire on the B+ terminal on the rectifier/regulator & plug it into the positive+ terminal of the ammeter. Next I run a wire with a fuse in it from the B+ terminal on the rectifier/regulator to the negative- terminal on the ammeter. Ammeter hooked up, transformer not plugged in, needle at zero. Volts at 13.28 Transformer plugged in, needle now showing about a one amp positive charge, volts started at 13.28 & slowly climbing, ammeter is working. One amp is all the toy train transformer will kick out, Lol, but perfect for testing & trickle charging. After a few minutes. A view of the whole set up after about 5 minutes, still taking a one amp charge, volts at 14.04, fully charged should be around 14.80 volts, but since this battery is 9 years old it's pretty much a waste of my electricity to even try. I hope this helps, pretty simple really, AC in, DC out.

8 pointsI don’t have any pictures of the tractor way back when but I have been on this tractor since I was 4 or 5 years. Doesn’t look like much in the first picture. Been through a fire. But we are getting closer to getting it back to how it’s supposed to be. This began garden tractor love for me

8 pointsHere is my 1961 Model 701. All I did so far is wash it, change the trans fluid, and get it running. I never knew what a 701 was before this one.

7 pointsThe 1277 is currently my favorite, mainly because I got it for my son to learn how to operate. He has yet to drive it himself but he's getting closer he's only 5. He learned how to disassemble as well as my daughter on this tractor. My second favorite right now is my C1054 Diesel project slowly its coming along.

7 pointsBuilt a moving raised bed, out of pallets, today on a old trailer that isn't road worthy without some welding and electrical work. Cleaned up the gazebo area as well.
-
6 points@Achto's wheelie is one of the best pictures I've ever seen. and this picture of @fast88pu,s daughter is just irresistible As for my own herd the one on my avatar is the best I can do. .

6 pointsJust bustin yer stones Tony... HH in my 502 starts and runs as good as any K. Double for keeping it orginal!

6 points@WHX?? that second one is your favorite because your dog is in it!

6 pointsThe rain let up long enough that I had to see how the (bought separately and rebuilt) mower deck and new belt would fit. I'm waiting until after my first grass cutting to see how the belts do before putting the pully guards back on. I got the new belt threaded through the Mule with a little YouTube help. I gave it a spin and all is smooth and quiet as @peter lena said it would be. I'll get the new cone on it from @ebinmaine so that I don't have to worry about the bearing coming out and be cutting grass next weekend.

4 pointsThank you everyone!! Has been a pretty good Birthday. Started celebrating early last night with a nice meal with good friends. Got some shop time this morning. This afternoon I got some seat time on my C145 pushing some wet heavy snow around. Tonight my wife is making up some jambalaya for supper. All in all a good day. @squonk Ended up doing a little work for Jim any way. Freshened up a cylinder for him. No rest for the weary. @Pullstart Looks like you used almost enough anti-seize.

4 pointsI forgot to update; I got the deck back together. The rain let up long enough that I had to see how the (bought separately and rebuilt) mower deck and new belt would fit. I'm waiting until after my first grass cutting to see how the belts do before putting the pully guards back on. I got the new belt threaded through the Mule with a little YouTube help. I gave it a spin and all is smooth and quiet. I'll be cutting grass next weekend. THANKS! to all of you that contributed to my success.

4 pointsWell today worked on the tractor a little bit afyer work. I was busy with the snowstorm that hit i was on henerator for 6 days then my mom lost power and she was on generator for 4 days. Then had loys of fun fixing a furnace and honeywell electric air filter due to the power fluctuating. But anyways got the motor out and now hoping to get the rest taken down. The wiring is a mess.

4 pointsMan that’s a good looking tractor! Glad you fixed it up and kept it after you had first had a slight inclination to sell… Glad the guys on here helped persuade you to wrench on it and keep it. Hope you spend many hours riding and working it !
-
4 pointsIt is a Troy Bilt Horse with the 6 hp Tecumseh. They also came with a 7hp Kohler. I have a 1976 like the one pictured except mine has ag tires. They are an excellent piece of equipment and they also have a big following like Wheel Horse tractors. Parts are readily available. You can check the year of manufacture by the numbers on top of the gear box.

-
3 pointsI'd be willing to bet you $20. ...That you're wrong. My wife would say that it's not worth an argument, and she can save this for future use when she wants something!

3 pointsI do just that. 30-45min. cool down time. I usually take that time to set up for my next time in the shop. I have found some hot spots over the years following that way of thinking.

3 pointsThe C-160 rides again! I finished getting the C-160 back together today. Had a few challenges that took a while. Getting the roll pin back in the high/low range shifter and getting the dog point set screw back in after the tranny was back under it. Tried using one hand for too long. It was too big and getting in the way. I was able to hold the shifter between palms and use both index fingers to run the set screw in. Then the lock nut. I want to thank all of my new friends for all of your help. I ran it through all the gears successfully. Someone could have cautioned me hold on tight when starting off in third gear in high range. I'm nearly 200 lbs and the front tires came off the ground.
