Red just like Jamie Davis Heavy Rescue on Highway through Hell Was up in the storage shed the other day and noted the mothballs had failed and I had a mouse nest in a C175. Pulling engine tins on a KT17 is a PITA. Didn't want to drive it down so got the Heavy Rescue GT-14 went up an towed her down.

Dad to the rescue. Alex aka @WheelHorse_Kid had to clean the carburetor on his 604 yesterday while I was at work. I think we are running into a fuel line issue but that will get swapped out. In the process he texts me and says the governor arm is sticking and making it stay at full throttle. He sent me some pics and it wasn’t until the last one I saw the error to his ways. In the process of putting things back together he bent the governor arm at a 90 causing the rod to be significantly shorter. Fast forward to this morning I tried to assist him by carefully bending and twisting it back. But sure enough I broke it. To the work bench I went and found a small piece of mechanics wire and used my vise a pair of pliers and a hammer and punch and bent a new one. Shockingly it worked great and him and his brother plowed with the 604 and the 856. He didn’t put the hood back on to plow because he doubted my fix (let’s face it so did I)but after plowing for 1 1/2hours it was still running perfectly fine.

Hello all, hope I am able to use one of my passes / favors to remain in the Wheel Horse group. It actually is @Sparky fault for seeing it and sending me link. So kick him out instead (lol) Long story short---my second tractor love is the Sears Ropers and the versions powered by Briggs and Stratton. This 1972 Suburban 15 popped up and I bought it after having had another and getting rid of it--why I don't know. The one I had was the SS15 which is considered deluxe with full running boards that touch rear fenders and rubber pedal covers / other trinkets. This one being a standard "Suburban 15" is much like what a Work Horse is in the Wheel Horse line. Clean, clean, clean and I had to buy it. Forgive me Everyone espescialy @Wild Bill in VA

Yes... There is a scientific calculation somewhere on this site using derivatives, algebraic calculus and geometric analysis to determine precisely how many 's one needs... it utilizes a patented, super secret formula to develop an ideal ratio of tractors to implements, factors in all kinds of useless but important looking parameters etc. In short, it follows the science. I will save you the math... The answer to how many 's one needs? More.

In a pinch I have gone to an automotive box store and gotten one for an older GM model. Think I have 2 tractors running on GM condensers. Note: When you get the person behind the counter that doesn't know the difference between a spark plug and an oil plug. Ask for an ignition condenser for a 1964 Chevrolet Impala with a 230 in line 6cyl. They should be able to find one on their computer.

Or my version of it anyways....Took a little tour yesterday. First up is the $80,000.00 2022 4700D Groundsmaster, getting her 600 hr. maintainance. 60 HP turbocharged diesel, 12' 6" cut, seven 27" independent decks, 4WD. Next we have more Groundsmasters, Greensmasters, Sand Pro's, Workmasters, Workmans, ect. I couldn't get them all in one shot or all of them either, too busy drooling.

Unfortunately that is tooooo often the case - if you are looking for some kind of alternative fit they will just keep asking 'what model is that???' But then again, sometimes you get lucky.... I've got a 40 yr old gray mkt Mitsubishi that the bottom radiator hose blew. Went to Oreillys with fingers crossed and got a youngish girl - covered in tats!, and told her what I was needing...... by golly, that little gal took me in back of the store to the HUGE selection of hoses and spent some 15-20 mins til we found one that would work, I thanked her profusely!

Yup @pacer, you can't always judge the book by the cover. Two examples of mine... I was a returning adult in college, in with a mix of adults and "13th graders". I had only one 4 credit course in my degree program - Intro to Physics. Thirty of us in the class, paired off in groups of two. I got paired with a 20 year old girl, with a shaved head, piercings and full of tattoos. Her boyfriend was in a heavy metal band - she had outstanding math and organizational skills. We sailed thru, each of us got an A in the course... We had a young Engineering Intern one summer and he was hired full time afterward. Same deal - piercings, tattoos, He could easily be misjudged as a freak show character, but totally the opposite. He was polite, well spoken, and eager to learn. Always punctual, a pleasure to work with... Bill

Nice tractor and nice wheel weights! I drug one of those home a couple miles (literally hanging 2” off the ground strapped up to my tailgate!) just to harvest the fenders and wheel weights off it. They were stacked 2 deep on each side and the best part, it was free! I ended up listing it for sale for $50 and when an interested guy stopped to look at it, I gave it to him. I just didn’t want it scrapped

It all started 6 weeks ago. Was plowing and seeing hydraulic fluid on the ground oh no what happened. The d200 was pushing snow like mad then all of a sudden I see a trail of hydraulic fluid as I'm backing up oh no back to the garage. Found the case on the run was broken open from the inside low and behold. A boat that loose inside and got caught around the bull gear and the housing lost got it apart did I mention it's a 1977 so it's been together for a long time got the hubs off broke one had to order a new used hub got it apart needed a set of needle bearings in one side ordered gasket put it back together and it leaked not in the same spot on one of the gaskets that had never been taken apart take it apart put gasket sealer on and we're all better. The weld is holding up great. Decided to make a 2-in receiver because I used the ball hitch to put my weights on before and everybody told me bad move so after doing a little research and figuring I made my own now we have the weights on there securely all said and done thanks to the members and transmission forum for all the help and shining light on what was wrong with the inside yes of course a boat broken side grade 5 should have been grade 8 now updated these are a few pictures of my fun time

We have had the Comcast internet/phone/cable tv bundle for years. It crept up to $296 a month!! Watched Frontier contractors run a new fiber service down my street, once it was done they started making offers to get folks to sign up. Eventually the deal sweetened to $60 a month for their top tier fiber internet, a $200 VISA gift card and $10 a month off a YouTube TV subscription. It was a tough decision to make the swap since it’s so easy to use what we had, learning to use apps to watch anything was a tough learning curve for the wife and I. We are getting much better at it! So with this new internet and the 2 or 3 apps we subscribe to we are right around $140 a month. We did try to cut the bill with Comcast, asked about dropping the landline since we didn’t use it and we were told that the monthly price would increase!! Any cost savings they offered up always included cutting back on channels or services. YouTube TV is an expensive app but it allows unlimited “recording” of shows and will store them for up to 9 months. We always record the NASCAR races and watch em later for example. It also has all our local stations showing in live time. And now that the land line is gone I don’t have to listen to that phone ringing 26 times a day with telemarketers, political recorded messages and general scammy stuff Anyone need a good used phone??

Nice rig. Only time I've needed to rescue one by myself I put the front wheel in the FEL on my GT-14, tilted it back and strapped it down, had to back up all the way but wasn't too far. Here you go Eric @ebinmaine, enough "words of the day" to keep you going the rest of the month and then some!

Thursday February 23rd , 2023 at the Florida Flywheelers Show in Avon Park, Florida. Part of Flywheelers is the village area with old buildings that have 99 year leases that the club gives to people with significant collections. I took some pictures around the village this am. The vendors area is twice the size of the village area.

Interesting you should bring this up Mike as they recently ran fiber by my place. I have yet to contact the powers that be into hooking into it. I don't know the costs but I suffer from the curse of Squonky since I retired... fixed income. There might be some wiggle room for it in my military retirement check tho. Right now my land line is Century Link but rumor has it they sold out to some outfit called Bright Speed but I haven't seen a land line bill in 4 months... how bizarre. I think I am gonna cut the cord too but cell coverage is real iffy here. I have Bug Tussle (AT&T owned) for internet ... slower than some of EB's builds but does get some up. Only 40 clams a month tho.

Some 60 years ago, my grandmother introduced me to her version of cush cush. She would take left-over cornbread, crumble it in a skillet, pour a little water over it and basically end up with moisten hot cornbread to which she would add plenty of black pepper. She would make a rather thin white bacon or sausage gravy. She would fill a bowl with the cornbread and pour the gravy over it. It has become a staple in my house over the years. We use a microwave to steam our cornbread in--something grandma couldn't imagine ever being in most every kitchen. We also liked fried mush. When we make it at home, sometimes we would add crumbled fried sausage to it--maybe a "watered down" modern version scrapple? I like my mush crispy on the outside with plenty of butter and clear Karo syrup. My wife, she wants butter with salt and pepper.

Hey guys! New to the forum. Restoring a 1967 Lawn Ranger with a H60. The laminates on the bullhorn are bad and I need a good working unit. Does anyone have a source that might have new in box? I know it is a long shot, but thought I would ask

Have to admit I have likely used this one incorrectly... Tantamount means “equivalent in value, significance, or effect.” TANTAMOUNT is sometimes confused with PARAMOUNT, which does not describe something that is equivalent, but instead means “superior to all others.” Used in a sentence, one might say, A Wheelhorse tractor is tantamount to others in that most of them have a steering wheel.

Same here. Biggest concern is for the apple orchards, trees are already blooming and even if we don't get snow we are quite likely to have a few hard frosts and the crop will be lost for this year. Didn't want to disappoint anyone, here you go. Please be kind to your pets when the weather is bad.

Well folks. Back to the Millie for a bit here. @Oldskool @SylvanLakeWH BBT's next new old something to do... The 10 HP Tecumseh engine was always meant to be a temporary donor engine. We'll take a peak at the original engine which is of course a Kohler 8 HP. We'll also see about adding a few extra gears and a Limited Slip Differential. Swapping the 3 speed for a 6 speed. Yesterday Trina was working from home and it was pretty quiet on the 'puter so she went around the acreage here and gathered up the engine and Starter/generator. She drained the (her words) black goo - from the oil pan. Removed the carb, fuel pump, breather and points cover from the engine. We know the engine had no compression and we know it was because of the exhaust valve being caked with carbon. We'll remove the valves, clean em up, check clearance. Drop the oil pan off and look around in there. After doing some assessment we'll decide what level of work and parts replacement is necessary.

Haven’t been out in the garage much the last few weeks. Picked the kids up and got home. @WheelHorse_Kid wanted to work on the B-80 4 speed that someone did a trans swap on to an 8 speed. We are debating about using this as the tractor that has our loader on it. Overall it’s in good shape. While he took the snow plow, home made weight bracket and plow bracket off I worked on my friends c-105. I really hate this tractor. Give me anything from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. I evicted the mouse nest around the whole fly wheel a few weeks ago put the engine shroud back on and tried cranking it over and it is super sluggish even with the plug out. Guess I need to figure that issue out. Not sure if it could be the starter. It’s sat outside for years so could be about anything. I have Thursday and Friday off this week. I will probably try to get some time in there to work on it. Really want it gone. It’s taking up critical space lol.
