24 pointsMy son got tired of replacing Tecumseh engines on our shredder and hauling it around. So he removed all unnecessary parts and adapted it to a tractor. I had this C-125 under a tarp for the last five years so I donated it to be a dedicated shredder tractor . Very appropriately he named it the Craftyhorse.

19 pointsAbout 10-15 years ago I was driving down the road and saw a gentleman mowing with a C-81. I knew he was relatively new to the area so of course I stopped to introduce myself and ask him about his tractor. Well don’t you know that even though he’s old enough to be my dad we became good friends. A couple of years ago he bought a new green tractor because it was easier to for him and his wife to get on and off. Well the C-81 was just sitting for a few years so he called me recently and said he wanted me to have it! It definitely needs some love but now it’s home in the Wheel Horse hospital (that’s what my friend calls it!) I’m going to repair whatever is necessary, then do a complete service on it. After that will be a light sanding and a @peter lena bath in WD-40 or whatever he recommends.

16 pointsNothing near the restoration done on my last 520, this one received a sheetmetal only teardown, and a very deep mechanical rehab with some improvements along the way. A worker quality redo.
-
10 pointsTime to purty up the refreshed 301 .Every-time I do one of these, I tell myself, leave it the way it is. But the force is too strong ! 🤪 Once the tins are complete I’ll go through the Starter Gen.

7 points@Sailman with your concept @Pullstart should have that designed and built by lunch break today...

7 pointsThank you but the credit goes to my son. He had the idea I just donated the tractor. This will be also the tractor he will use on the property moving trailers around with firewood. The permanent front weight on it will improve the steering in those situations. So here is the full story on how it came to be. I had one just like yours for 35 years. Probably the best machine I ever owned. Had a Briggs engine. One day about a year ago while being used there was a real big bang where it actually jumped off ground. It stopped and upon inspection he realized the whole impeller assembly actually bent. So then he took the other one I had here also a Craftsman but larger. Always had trouble with that engine and could never really fix it. It always wanted to over rev. Shure enough soon after rod broke through block. He realized that engine from old one although less horse power fit perfectly on it. Changed it . Soon after it also was turning too fast. Something with governor got stuck inside. Not wanting to deal with it anymore decided to attach it to a tractor that would not only have a reliable engine but also made it easier to deal with moving and storing unit itself. That is when I volunteered a tractor that I did not need anyway.

7 pointsI’m gonna build a horse getter onner! Having difficulties with the tunnel? Get a Horse Getter Onner! Oh yeah, congrats Don!
-
6 pointsWork boots and things strapped down! Where is the real pullstart and what have you done to him!
-
6 pointsAll loaded up, I wonder how much weight this is? The truck GVWR is 16,000 lbs. The ride felt much nicer on the way home!

6 pointsGood for you! I love the little 8hp tractors, always amazed at what they can do.

5 pointsI haven't watched these super speedway races on TV in the last five years are so and stopped going to Daytona and Talladega some fifteen years ago I still stay up with them. While I agree with Dale, rubbings is racing, pushing and wrecking isn't. Yesterday: 17 out of 40 cars DNF! Just had to get that off my chest this morning.

5 pointsNot today, but over the last few months… Since early October my neighbor and me have been working on his wife’s she-shed. I believe there are pics back somewhere in this thread since October. We started with a badly unlevel concrete 12x12 ft dog kennel pad; framed it, sheathed it, wrapped it, roofed it, wired it, insulated it, then put vinyl siding on it, working on weather permitting weekends only. What’s left is one little piece of trim metal to cover the brick molding and jam over the door. Then we will put a level floor in it. Then he’ll have his Sheetrock man do his thing, Then we will install the electrical switches and fixtures after paint. Also will get a concrete stoop/ porch…

5 pointsNice job. I have an old 5 horse B&S powered chopper shredder. So far, the engine is fine. But, if it ever craps out, I think I'lldo a similar conversion. I do need to scratch up a hitch bar for it one of these days to use Horse power instead of me power to move it around.

5 pointsFree is good !! 👍 Take him to his favorite restaurant for some dinner .

4 pointsI know, it’s not stock cars at all. well Paul here’s some real Chevy working! I found some free wood today and they’ll even load. I’m just waiting in them to finish dropping the massive trunk.
-
4 pointsExactly how many parts in that race car are from a Chevy The stock in Nascar is a joke..In the old days when i still watched they were heavily modified but the engine block frames and sheet metal were usually from real car...
-
4 points@Sailman @Pullstartthat’s perfect because I already have that winch. I could use my bailout harness from the fire department and I’m all set. Hopefully I’ll have many more years before I need it.
-
4 pointsI just bought another pair of utility knives today 'cause I can't locate any of the 4 others I know I have somewhere.
-
4 pointsGreat story. Great tractor. I had one, it was sweet. Best of luck.
-
4 pointsTook the C-121 out after two and a half years of hibernation. I must have totally ran it out of gas back then because I put a fresh battery and gas in it, took the air cleaner off, sprayed a little gas in the carburetor with a spray bottle and it fired up instantly! Next it was time for a bath. Soon I will be replacing the axle seal. It’s also the first tractor I got signed by the man himself Cecil Pond!

-
3 pointsLet’s see some of you guys signs and memorabilia that you have. I have a few things first is this lighted sign that is what it was made to be. I did upgrade to brighter lights Second is a metal sign made to be screwed to the wall. I made a shadow box style enclosure for it and put lights behind it
-
3 pointsChevy for the win! And for nothing at all related to racing but everything bow tie, I had to do a quick repair to the flat bed today…

3 pointsWhilst I agree with you sentiment Chris, The good old days also had 17 or so DNF's. Blown engines, cracked heads, dropped valves, clutch and transmission failures and an a good old broken rear axle whilst leaving the pits. The cars don't break so there is more of them on the last lap to play bumper cars with.
-
3 pointsThe bed is 8’ wide. It is hard to imagine the weight of this load, but it hauled swimmingly! That’ll put out some BTUs for us!
-
3 pointsDidn't do to badly mesel' today. Big tree came down across the bridleway past my place two years ago. Chap landed up last week to saw it up. I'd have tackled it mesel' but self preservation kicked in. It was snagged on trees on the opposite side. He came back today and left me a pile of firewood. Took the Sears GT16 and Saxon trailer and came back with a full load.

3 pointsAxle remarkably survived. the inner race saved it By The Way.. THANKS to all of you that have replied. I am shocked at how quickly and many I have received.
-
3 pointsHmmm... maybe now I know what I should do with these - it's probably been 15 years since I used them, couldn't bring myself to throw them away:
-
3 pointsit is a shame that the shift tunnel on the wh's make it hard to get on/off especially as we age. i know it is harder for me now than 25-30 years ago!

3 pointsTore down a 1276 parts tractor. Anybody see anything they need speak now or forever hold yer peace. Tore into the motor and the boys measured it up. Within std. specs but some weird cross hatching. Will get cleaned up, honed and new rings & paint and on the shelf for a ready spare or project. We think this might have been a service motor at one time. I.D. plate is MIA. Drilled out the pully set screws and came off no problem @Achto From the we seen it all files. Hubs are savable tho with new keyway. Axles good yet too!
-
3 pointsWe got the rest of wiring harness put in. Went to start the beast and the old starter solenoid 💩. Ok fine. I pulled a nice new Cole Hersee solenoid off the parts shelf and we put that in. Dragged her outside and voila!! Here's a teaser of the oversized excellent hood ornament made by @Wheel Horse 3D Grey and painted by my own VERY special Paint Department.
