I just wanted to thank the ones that replied back on my thread as I really appreciate your thoughts and kindness though this heart break that I am going though; yes I am going to have some rough times ahead so it seems that I will have to take each day as they roll by ; what really hurt the most was that I was here when it happened and really there was nothing I could had done even though I tried ;if she had told me that she was feeling ill or something wasn't right I might had the time to call 911 sooner and get her to the hospital and they could had saved her but really no one ever knows the out come ; last but least I will say that the horses have been my hobby for years and the wife knew it matter of fact there were times that she helped me tinker with them and I know that she would what me to stay with them and tinker with them at times when they need it ; my dad used to call her little joe as she was part Indian and she would never were any shoes of any kind ;she always thought that was funny to be called that I know that she is pain free from the open heart surgery that was done 3 years back but having kidney failure at the 4th stage didn't help but it seems her doctors delayed so many of her appointments which I really don't understand why but any ways I want to thank every one for caring ; I will be around from time to time but as of now I need to get my head straighten out ;

Cleaned the chimney, rebuilt the stove pine, and brought in some fuel. Ready for the cold front that is coming tonight. Sure enjoyed last weeks 50+ degrees.

I inspector in my town would probably say there is not enough fire protection around it.

A number of years ago a very good friend of mine and myself decided to do a bit of ice fishing. Mind you this particular day was blowing approx 25mph and snowing sideways like no tomorrow. We arrived at the pond. Slightly hesitant we trudged thru about 24in of fresh fallen powdery snow. After about a 1/2mile walk we started drilling holes and set up. A few hours go by, we are now looking like a couple of snowme. Out in the weather without a hut and absolutely no flags. By now my buddy Rich was getting cold and frustrated. The wind was dying out, so I pleaded with him to hang I there. He says he had to get up and move around to try and warm up. Good idea I said. While you are out there make your time worth it a draw some snow art. Rich being Rich decides to write in the snow. 20ft letters mind you. He wrote the big F word followed by the word OFF in the same font. Shortly after completion we here a buzz off in the distance over the ridge behind us. With the buzzing getting closer I suggested it may be a wardens plane. Sitting,joking around, What would be the chances.. Still no flags mine you. With the buzzing getting closer, over the ridge flies YUP a wardens plane. Making several passes along the length of the pond, getting lower every pass. Both of us lstil laughing that it was a wardens plane. I looked at Rich and said I think they are reading what you wrote and may get a visit. Several minutes go by, the plane still circling we decide to break camp and head for shore. The moment we set foot on shore the plane landed and headed our way. 60 seconds later 2 warden trucks arrive greeting us as the plane came to the landing. Now a total of 6 wardens were looking us over.. Rich had some explaining to do as the wardens thought his art work was meant for them. As you can guess they were welllll a little on edge. After a nice conversation and checking our gear and licenses we all had a big laugh over the whole thing. By the time we all departed we all had made some new friends and we gained some very useful fishing info. As the season went along we ran into those same wardens a few at a time and always had a big laugh over that particular day. The end..........

Finally got round to replacing the exhaust valve in the C-125s engine. Valve ground in, tappets set and head replaced. May get round to fitting it tomorrow if it stays fine.

I've had that same thought. Unfortunately we can't do that here. We are allowed 5 tipups in the ice per person. So a couple of years ago I put in 4. Then 80ft away I was fishing open water from a bridge with a pole.

Believe me that thought has crossed our minds. We were joking about making floating rings to set out tip ups in so they can float around and still do their jobs.

That is assuming you're changing the filter too. Some oil will always stay in the lift cylinder & lines, you can put 5 in it and run it to work it through the system, then check it to top it up.

I think that IS the actual stick (or part of it). That much steel makes an interesting thermal mass around the stove.

Trina says that being a bucket would definitely throw some heat right back at ya too.

How did the coins get past the inlet screen? I've laundered plenty of money but it was just always laying on the bottom of the drum. I would thunk they got in the pump they would busted off most likely plastic impellers. I'm on track for 20 years but I don't want new big box junk. I just keep a wrenching on them as long as parts are NLA and affordable. Your crew T prolly does alot of wash tho. Tell her I got a line on one of these if she wants to upgrade... Yep... Dan & I know a guy... Ask her she prefers a metal or wooden tub?... Hit n miss or Maytag?!?

I would do it ! We (Libby) had to have a new washer and dryer a few years back… new fangled, no knobs, all digital… I can’t even figure out how to turn the things on… I told her “That’ll teach ya”. 😆

Good news-ish. The local appliance shop called back and we talked things over. Come to find out, my thoughts and plans to tee the lines together sounded good to him. I took the box out and removed the lid. I am soaking it in bleach water to cleanse it of any grime and slime before assembling it again. You can clearly see they are the same system once they enter the case.

Most of my pictures from then are on slides. I have a ton of them. It's a good time of year to have the time to go through them and I have the equipment to digitize them. You guys have me wanting to look at them again. Let me see what I can come up with. These would be time capsules from the early 1970's. To be continued...Steve from O'Fallen...stay tuned Mate.

That's one thing I remember from Maine. I can't tell you how many times the plane landed on the pond we were fishing and waved us over to check our license and fish. We were always legal and always enjoyed talking with them. Maine is one of my favorite states...it has 4 beautiful seasons. A piece of my heart is still out there.

Put a small spacer between the seat and spring. Keeps the seat off the fender.

What’s wrong with your current rims. Have you considered having them sandblasted. Then smooth the bead seat and any large pits with JB Weld and paint.

Remove the HEX plug on the trans case bottom. Replace it...change the filter, then use this no-spill method to refill... Don't over-fill it as the fluid will foam up resulting in poor performance. Run it for a little while, then recheck fluid lever...DO NOT OVERFILL.

Oh My... somebody get that choice seat off before it goes up in flames...

My wife has issued the edict that someday - when I retire or change jobs I suppose - that we’re moving to Maine. Or maybe New Hampshire. With the soft and hard water fishing opportunities, ocean, and scenery I’m all-in. Well... Er... Uhm ...

I have a 250 gallon tank. He is a local one man dealer that tops mine off when he's in the neighborhood. I heat with wood when the outside temps are below 40F but the oil boiler is still heating my domestic hot water. When oil price is below $2.50/gallon, don't use the wood stove.

If you feel like a drive before October, I have that hood, hood stand, frame, etc. I hear the dinner triangle jingling! com’n get it!
