My neighbor who is in his 80’s bought this bronco 14 brand new. The other day he drove it probably 3/4 of a mile to my house in the pouring rain. Reminded me of the Gordon’s fisherman in his full yellow rain gear ! He brought it over and asked me if I could figure out why it’s not charging ( I may need help with that?) and asked if I could find a replacement electric clutch as his is shot. I’ll be putting an add in the wanted section here. I had my loader out the other day to move and power wash some blade decks, so I took a few pictures. Hope you guys enjoy, I know you like pictures!!

@Achto Looks like we might be making "safe ice" next week down here. I would send @Pullstart out on the ice first, if I had the chance. I almost did not recognize Sparky !! He has been hanging with Pullstart. He only has 4 fingers on each hand.

Me and my dad finally finished my plow and my dad saved some snow for me and my brother to plow.This was my first time plowing with my 604.It did better than I thought but it shut its self of once but we got it started and it sounded good.

It was only 1.5 - 2" in eastern MA last weekend, but my son was glad of the chance to test the new-to-him 312-H and plow at their new-to-them home and get a feel for how best to maneuver for the drive and walks. He had enjoyed mowing over the summer but declared that plowing is even more fun.

Always have plenty of curds & tp. Just worried about running out of fermented fluids though. Better stock up tonight.

Got my bin finished up, now need to build the chute! As for the white triangular item on the wall, it’s a makeshift “drain” that was installed before we moved in. Must be at one point, there was enough water outside to seep in through the wood boiler lines. The Farm Truck made a trip to town this morning, I’ve got a ton of pellets on a pallet, waiting to get dumped into the bin. The 2x4’s on top serve a structural purpose, plus it will prevent the abrasion on hands, arms or chests while digging for pellets with the bucket. Maybe if I am feeling super ambitious one day, I’ll build an auger system to load the pellet hopper for me. I have one for the wood boiler to load corn or wood pellets into it from a gravity wagon. I could utilize parts, or use it as a template to build my own. I also thought about elevating this bin and running a gate valve of sorts to gravity feed it into the hopper. I thought there are all kinds of ways for that to go wrong, collapse, overfill, etc.

I got my Work Horse GT1600 cheap because of a seized up transmission. Put it in the shop, thawed it, and it freed right up. Trans flush and refill with gear oil then a new shifter boot and it is good to go.

If you want to go directly to the rock shaft the long link should be the one you want. If you want to connect to the mower lift arm so the blade has float and follows the couture of the driveway which I would advise then you want the short one or a chain.

So I recently bought a 14hp automatic with the hydro lever in the center. I have seen where some of them had a side lever. Does anyone know why there are two styles? I’m not sure yet if the transmission are the same model or if they are different. Just very curious.

First things first folks. Be safe out there. If you can stay inside, do so. If you need to get out to remove snow or go to work or do recreation or whatever... Please plan ahead and use common sense. Proper clothing. Plenty of fuel. Food. Water. Warm blanket in your car. As I write this it's Tuesday the 13th, late morning. At this point there's still 2-1/2, 3 days for the storm to materialize here in Maine. We could be in store for anything from 4 to 12 plus inches. Where are you? What's your forecast? Are you prepared?

A loader is next on my bucket list, those are both BEAUTIFUL. I have this on a parts tractor, all I know about it is it spins, wires look good, & I'll never use it. You can have it for shipping... I can hook some juice to it tomorrow & see if it works...

We backed it up to the back of the car, lifted the rear wheels up and pushed them in. Then we each lifted a front wheel and rolled the rest in. Getting it out was roughly the same, though I had to recruit help. My wife gave me the “what the hell is in the back of your car now” look, so I knew she wasn’t helping. My FIL was kind enough to stop by.

My Granddad had three hand dug mines open in the '50s. My Dad delivered the coal to homes in Cumberland, Md. and dumped it down those chutes to the basement coal bins. My job was to stand in the bin and shovel the coal to the back corners of the bin.

Brings back childhood memories of our anthracite-heated home in NE Pennsylvania. Coal truck dump body could be lifted vertically about 10 feet before tipping to dump down a long chute. Coal ran into a bin in the basement next to the furnace and an auger tube fed the burner. My job was to shovel out and remove the ashes in ½ bushel tubs without making a mess in the kitchen on the way out.

when i started this thread i was wondering about the alpha designations for oil to be used in the older Kohler engines - in my case the KT 17 in C175's - - so i asked the brain trust here for insights -- i also wrote email to FRAM - here is their response -- i hope you find it insightful -- especially to those who comment about the ZINC issue !!!! We appreciate you contacting us regarding the FRAM-branded lubricants we manufacture on behalf of Advance/Carquest Auto Parts. The American Petroleum Institute designations define the performance requirements of a specific oil. For instance, API SG oils were designed for use in gasoline engines built before 1993. The current API standard for gasoline-powered engines is API SP. The API SP oils are formulated to protect modern engines while also having backward compatibility with older engines. I recommend using the FRAM 30W Engine Oil with a supplemental ZDDP additive, as modern oils contain less ZDDP than older formulations.

Um its 27 degrees over in draper Utah its still snowing we got like 2-3 inches so far and i just got done plowing with the 350 wolverine but if it snows a bit more i can ride my little snowmobile around the back yard. Kollin

Only electric has no flame. Propane, wood, pellet, oil all use fire to produce heat. I've forgotten and painted in my garage with a Hot Dawg propane heater running. I am still alive to tell about it.

The guys on here saying that cable will work you harder than chain reminds me of my first adventure with my Wyeth-Scott More Power Puller. I had just finished the refurbish and looking for an opportunity to put it to the test. I had called my 88 year old Dad and he was freshly upset again that when the state widened the road in front of his house they made the driveway steeper than it already was. He didn't get off his clutch fast enough or it was slipping and wound up off the driveway and stuck in the leaves. He was going to hand truck his big battery powered winch up there the next day to pull it back onto the drive. I made the drive down early the next day and got set up to impress my Dad with my new hand winch. He came out to supervise and I got hooked up to the truck to his satisfaction. He was standing in the open driver door so I warned him to get clear. I started pumping the handle and the cable pulled tight. It got so tight that I draped my coat over it. The truck began moving but each couple inches was a work out. I was now getting the hardest cardio' work-out in years and the Ford Ranger had only moved a couple feet. I had just about decided that this hand witching was for the birds when my Dad started yelling " HOLD IT! HOLD IT! LET ME RELEASE THE PARKING BRAKE! Oh my gosh it got easier. A memory for life that brings a laugh now. Sorry to be long winded but I thought that you guys might enjoy.

If you do not need down pressure you can use a chain. Down pressure is nice to have though.

She's done for now, I will take the cab off in the spring & paint the frame. Until then, let it snow. Idler sprocket & new chain on... Left side weight & & chain on... & for the final touch I got my sticker in the mail today... Oops, forgot about this, leftover vinyl edging from the carport to go around the fiberglass edge. Hauled Amigo parts outside with Alice for cleaning. Dan says put it back together then wash but if i wait more than a day I'll forget how it came apart. Part are unobtainium and a looonnngg way out... Spraying everything down with WD eliminated flash rust.

Got home from work tonight & put the trim on the cab, looks much better, that raw edge was working my OCD. Waited till dark & pulled her out to try out / aim the lights, no aiming necessary, spot on, (pun intended), all I can say is WOW !!!
