13 pointsI bought my C-160 it was from the original buyer's family. They had all of the manuals, a service bulletin, dealer key fob, and even the punch card.

10 pointsThis is one of the very few electric vehicles I could talk myself into actually owning...

8 pointsBought back an early AC-6 cultivator I sold a year ago to Chuck Hunt in Lebanon, Indiana with a number of RJ-58 items. Picked it up and had a nice visit with Chuck who’s dad use to be a Wheel Horse dealer in Lebanon. It’s old and unrestored but works well on an RJ- 58 tractor.

7 pointsIs there a chance the temps have been below freezing? If there is water in the transmission oil given some time it will settle on the bottom. If it freezes the gears won't turn in the ice. Warm up the transmission and drain the oil. It takes quite a while to melt all the ice.
-
7 pointsYou have to look at the original deed and contract of purchase. If the property was purchased by all three, there might be a clause for just this sort of situation. If it was a family thing where all three were left one third ownership, that's a different set of rules. Get a real estate attorney involved. Don't try to handle it on your own.

7 pointsThe two of you make the third an offer he can't refuse, then sell the land and split two ways. OR... you could get Rocco involved. Rocco can make the third person 'go away'!

7 pointsMade a roof and added some much needed space to my wood storage. Still have to install some trim on the front to make it look purdy. Before After

6 points1983, C175h, Series 1, with this winter's plow install -- first snow of the season expected today in Hudson River Valley, NY ......1-3 inches expected....Did blade rehab on my original 1989, 48 inch plow this summer that's been riding on my 312-8 for 33 years -- cleaned all the rust and painted - plus new wear bar bolts -- almost sorry to get it dirty. The hydo lift on the C175 will be nice change from the manual lift on the 312-8

6 pointsGreat find! Lucky kids... Lucky Grandpa... Don't know ages but may want to consider floor boards that isolate little feet from ground and the rear tires... easy to remove to keep original later on...
-
5 pointsWell... You could use your patented, world famous gas pressureizermabob technique... but please, no pictures... FWIW I've used an upside down pop bottle. Put small hole in cap, fill with your choice if rusterator oil, insert cable in hole and let drip over catch pan. Refill from drips and repeat... Or, you can refer again to picture above which, is really disturbing on many, many levels...

5 pointsSurprised @Pullstart has not chimed in with his 5 gallon bucket of used motor oil method (maybe he's getting a Band-Aid or something....)!!! I do something similar, using a shallow pan and Marvel Mystery oil - leave one end up so it can "Burp"

5 pointsBefore the impending epic snow storm (insert sarcasm) I went out and did a once over of the driveway and moved some things around. The 416h wouldn’t start so I had to enlist help of my dad and his (yes I’m gonna say it) Deere to fork it to winter storage. The starter seems to have gone bad on me. Really not looking forward to the bill. I finally got the bronco 14 into the garage and can finish setting up the 2 stage in there. The boys are at their moms this weekend and are missing out on being the first to plow our driveway. I did take Aiden’s 856 out and brought in a trailer and a half of fire wood. I did notice it feels like it needs a new drive belt so that will have to happen this winter.

4 pointsEquals lean beef. Like venison… @WHX?? Back straps made it into the framily fristmas meal planning today. I had a ham I offered to smoke, but when I grabbed it from the freezer it was smaller than I recalled. So that, a pork shoulder, and two full ‘straps of good lean beef!

4 pointsTime for the Suburban to get some new shaft seals. Both hubs fought the whole way, but heat/quench worked pretty good! How old do you think the crusted oil is?
-
4 pointsQuite a bit of cleaning and scraping and cleaning and painting done today. Lots of wire brushing and sanding. Again we have a Wheelhorse hanging mobile. Transmission case is painted. Before. After. Here's a good pair of pics that shows the work Trina did on the hood. Note the spacing between the cross bars. Dents and warpage. Here she's most done. Spacing is even. I ordered hoses and more from Lowell... ...and an engine gasket set from isavetractors.

4 pointsWent through this after my father-in-law passed away. His son was the executor of the will and had his daughter and son-in-law living in the house rent free for over a year and expected us to pay 1/3 of the taxes, insurance and HOA fees along with my wife's sister. I contacted the attorney who had updated the will and he told us since there was nothing preventing the sale of the house we should have an appraisal done and file a civil suite. Once my brother-in-law got a call from the appraiser he changed his tune and offered to buy it from his sisters. We had no intention of filing an legal action but he wasn't too sure. The ironic thing is that the value had increased during the time he had been holding the house so his sisters got more than they would have gotten.

4 pointsWent the other way on this Sylvia... since she wacked a deer and her ride is gonna be the body shop for decades it frees up a stall in the shop. That said plenty of room to pull a 953 carcass in. @Achto come over and we got him some parts for a project. Tranny, Ross box, steering wheel & some other odds & ends. They sure are a different beast than the horses we are used to playing with @953 nut. Got a SG put together and painted.

4 pointsI have enjoyed messing with my wheelhorse tractors but always admired the round hoods and wanted one for the grandkids. Passed on a couple for sale recently due to over priced and missing parts or wrong engines, etc. Just landed this 704 that appears to be quite original with parts intact including 7 HP pull start Kohler. It looks rough and is going to need some work but pull cord and recoil were intact and working, engine turns over easily and shifter goes into all gears ok and even feels like heavy fluid in the transmission. Got it home and cleaned up and shifter boot is even intact! Front tires are shot and left wheel may be past salvaging but rears look good and even holding air. Fellow passed and had dozens of tractors all over the property his family is now selling. Has a couple more wheelhorses and bunch of Kohler motors. Nothing running. If I had more room I would be tempted.... I don't anticipate a restore job on the 704. I just get them running and use 'em! I know you all like pictures so here goes... First ones are after the wash job removing green stuff and first layer of dirt/rust. Later pictures are how she came.

4 pointsG-West nailed it. Water froze in the trans. Don't do anything but melt the ice. Space heater, light bulb are good choices...open drain plug an let the water out.

4 pointsRetrofitting the drivetrains of classics or even newer non emissions regulated vehicles will become more prevalent as the years pass. I'm not of the mindset that I'd like to see a good old rough cammed engine vehicle make basically no sound... But.... For a daily transportation or general worker. Absolutely.

4 pointsThe weather wasn't good today for working on the deck so I decided to put the gears and shifter rails back in. All went well. I think that I got the second detent bearing on my third try. I nearly had to take everything out to find that second bearing on the second try. Here's a before and after. And it passed the shift test! And look what else turned up: My key ! The original complete with dealer key fob. It was a good day! (:.

3 pointsI didn't want to have anything to do with it when we inherited it, especially since three people are involved, but at the time my wife wanted to keep it,and wives can be persuasive. Now, she has changed her mind, especially since I am older and I told her I am not taking care of it any longer. There is nothing in writing saying it cannot or will not be sold. Time to put my foot down, cause I ain't Skeered !! Well, maybe a little.

3 pointsAwesome. Thanks guys. Thought I had changed transmission oil when I brought it home. I guess not. I'll dig out the space heater and drain it and get new fluid in the trans.

3 pointsI would start with hot water and dawn then I would do the bailing wire trick and see what comes out. Randy
-
3 pointsI would soak it if that spiral casing is not sealed and if it is sealed , I'd hang it and drizzle some penetrant in until it comes out the bottom . If you have an old piece of garden hose , cork one end and slide the whole she-bang into it and pour in some kerosene while it's hanging . Oops , I misread it . I thought the inner cable was frozen inside . You could always sacrifice an old small drill bit and weld it to a piece of thin rod and chuck it up in a drill ?

3 pointsAh, Howard's belt guardless pot metal pulley and no clutching action at his first big show! A quick field dressing in the road to get it shifting and going smoothly only to loose a tire in the back stretch. Howard made lots of friends his first year there! Kind of miss him posting on here and he used to be pretty active too. It's become a pit stop at the show tent now. Always fixing or putting together something on our own tractors or someone else's.

3 pointsI guess I missed this thread. Eric, I built a work platform out of scrap wood from plate glass crates and only have a few bucks in it. I made a gap in the middle so you can crawl under to work on things under the tractor while sitting up. I made a lip under there so I can use boards in the middle for jacks and such, but slide them out of the way. I use a boat winch on the front to winch them up on bench and have had my loader tractor on it with no problem. Very sturdy. You could put casters all around to move it with a smooth floor or wheels under just one end and pull it with a tractor from building to building.

3 pointsSorry for your loss Richard, that never feels good to hear. We believe though, that our maker has a plan for us no matter how we go. We’ve chosen to not live our lives in fear and believe that there is a plan. Ignorance, or faith, it’s working so far. I know it’s a decision that’s not for everybody’s situation, but that is the choice we’ve made.

3 pointsPut new adjustable tie rods on. Had about 1/2" toe out with old tie rods. With new ones in and adjusted I have about 1/4" toe in. Definitely steers much easier.

3 pointsAnd now for the pics on how she came out of the yard. Had been under a shed but the roof had fallen in so no idea how long she was in the weather.
