In spite of all of @ebinmaine's quiddities he is a very wise and generous member of Red Square. Eric's absence of haste in building "Colossus" is a result of his desire to incorporate the quiddity of all of the best Wheel Horses into this one tractor.

Currently doing the initial burn in on a new wood stove for deer camp. Decided I'm making a switch to an old school wall tent and wood stove for the winter hunts/camps.

I had the Local Heavyweight Lifting Department gimme a hand getting the transuhmasshion n pump up to the workbench. Got the other two hoses off and pump separated from the unidrive section. Did a bit of vacuuming and cleaning. Removed the screen from the case half. Didn't exactly like what I found... Looks like the remnants of an old bearing cage...

Finished splitting the Amigo @oliver2-44 @CasualObserver... to find the transmission input spline was not feeling good. Whatta heck of a tractor tho. Very unique design. Every single fastener is fine thread and parts are heavy! Afraid to crack open the tranny because... (A) she is a complicated affair and (B) sceered of what other damage i might fine what with parts made of unobtainium. Surely the odd ball to have in the herd!

I bought these about 8 years ago snd they were $75 a tire cheaper at that time. https://www.millertire.com/6-70-15-goodyear-sure-grip-traction-4-ply/ They are pretty much the original type tire used on the 953/1054 tractors.

Needs some TLC to be sure. First step is to get it mobile again, then decide if I am the person to bring it to life and shepard it for its next 70 years.

It sounds like you work on your tractors barefoot the manual says proper footwear should be worn at all times.

Tell yall a weird one, i put a new plastic one off ebay on my magnum and it worked poorly, kept failing to produce volume...bypassed it and did a vane type wired to the acc pin on my key...it worked about 4 hours and something melted, plastic was hanging out the outlet into the line. Tractor was like a mile from home...of course...i hooked the plastic pump back up, hoping...and it cranked up, has worked fine ever since, this was in March of this year. Biggest problem I have with plastics is the stupid snap in elbows leaking

Wow, I'm impressed. Now hook it up to a PTO and we can add it to the strange Wheel Horse implement thread along with the ice cream freezers, wood splitters, and chicken plucker.

What It Means Quiddity refers to the essence of a thing—that is, whatever makes something the type of thing that it is. Quiddity can also refer to a small and usually trivial complaint or criticism, or to a quirk or eccentricity in someone's behavior. Let's see your sentence uses! 🐻

Hi all. I was shelling some Pinto beans tonight and thought. I bet everyone that grows these and shells them by hand? HATES IT. But? I have a way that works very well. I am going to try to load some pics. And? If it works? A video. I know? Stop. Did he say video? Are his kids home to do it? I said, Try🤠🤠🤠. Here goes. Take a paint stirring wand. Cut it off to 16 1/2". Then? I took 9 links of a 1/4" chain. Cut the 9th link. Split it enough to go around the lower shaft. Hook the remaining links onto that link. Then? Bend it back to keep it around the shaft. Put it into a drill. Fill a 5 gallon pail with dry pods to about 40%. Any more than that? Makes it hard to shell the cleanly. Make a screen fron 1/4" square screen. Dump the pail onto the screen. Have some sort of tub under the screen to catch the beans. Pods stay on the screen. Good luck. Pat 20221202_182117.mp4

Good question. I plowed 3" snow with one 2 weeks ago for the first time. about 30 degrees. 15 minute run time and batteries were at about 82%. This is roughly equivalent to running 1/2 hour in warm weather pulling my full train with 7-10 kids... Not good comparison but closest thing i have... I'm guessing i'll get 20% or so loss due to cold... but that's just a guess... and is of course dependent on temperatures... I will be seeing how it does this winter plowing and do plan to run it down once to time its drop dead run time in the cold...

Not sure about this for sure, but didn’t one of the years they have Work Horse decals on the hood? I don’t have to many pics of mine on my phone, it’s obviously a repaint and I did my rims completely different, but Terry sold me a set of Work Horse decals. Somebody here like @953 nut might know if there is any truth to it.
