So yesterday I got one of my beloved roundhoods down off the shelf and it is being sold to another member/friend. It is a nice original 1960 burb 400. Been in the roof since 2015 ish. Having one less machine makes a difference in organization. Put up the flags I got at the big show a few years back from another member. I think it looks good. Also installed a two post lift a few months ago which allows me to park two cars inside. The 400 in the doorway makes me say I think she wants to stay!

My son bought this C-160 8 speed this summer and never got around to putting pics up. It seems pretty non-molested and has a nice patina, hope I can convince him to keep it original! It can't come in the shop till he gets his CC 784 project off my workbench!! I think he thinks I am gonna do it all for him!! I also needed to put these pics here to prove @ebinmaine hasn't got ALL the C160's out there!!!! Randy

Made an adapter to make an adapter Making a coupler to mount an Eaton hydro to a D200 flex joint. Had to make a 3/4” down to 5/8 spindle to keep the center straight. Hairbrained idea but stay with me…….

I've been trying to get a bit more organized and create tools/sets/tables that are mobile. I bought a new bottom tool box for that reason. Today I got a neat Lisle socket carrier to keep all my 3/8" drive impact sockets in the same set up.

Your son needs help, if he can't understand that yellow has been known to cause Increased irritability. Increased anger. Heightened levels of aggression. Heightened sense of agitation. then it is time to step in. Make your son aware that the color red with it's vibrant, dynamic energy affects us on a physical level. It's the color that raises the pulse rate, getting us excited, motivated, we can get a sense that we are stronger, having more drive and stamina.

I made the mistake of going in the hardware store today to look for paint stuff. Found these sandpaper sponges which do fit between the fins on an air cooled Kohler. Figured they'd be right handy at cleaning up for painting.

Saw this loader on facebook and had to share it just for the design of it. Beware it's green!!! If not appropriate here please move and sorry! It is compact and looks to be simple to remove if set up right. It is on Just Garden Tractors facebook group. Here are a couple of pics, go search to find it, I don't think I can post a link.

Hi all. I was shelling some Pinto beans tonight and thought. I bet everyone that grows these and shells them by hand? HATES IT. But? I have a way that works very well. I am going to try to load some pics. And? If it works? A video. I know? Stop. Did he say video? Are his kids home to do it? I said, Try🤠🤠🤠. Here goes. Take a paint stirring wand. Cut it off to 16 1/2". Then? I took 9 links of a 1/4" chain. Cut the 9th link. Split it enough to go around the lower shaft. Hook the remaining links onto that link. Then? Bend it back to keep it around the shaft. Put it into a drill. Fill a 5 gallon pail with dry pods to about 40%. Any more than that? Makes it hard to shell the cleanly. Make a screen fron 1/4" square screen. Dump the pail onto the screen. Have some sort of tub under the screen to catch the beans. Pods stay on the screen. Good luck. Pat 20221202_182117.mp4

This pump uses a 3/4” keyed shaft, not splines like the sunstrand. This Eaton transmission will have the axle tubes cut off of it and sealed up. The transmission will be turned sideways and a drive will be made off of the brake shaft. There is a powerking 3 speed and a Panzer tractor axle in the mix also. If I make this work, there will be a splined coupler for sale There is a guy on Youtube that used a manual wheelhorse transmission this way in his home brewed tractor. I just won’t have to deal with a clutch as mine will be hydrostatic.

My cubs were my first love, I can't give them up!!! It is red though, 784's had KT 17 seriesII with dual hydraulics, it will be a beast when done!!! I know you are chain pulling and I can take it!!! You do admit to being a nut!! Randy

Ha Ha! Actually, there were only three tractors I haven't been able to fit in it - a Power King, a 312-8 with a blower and Original cab installed, and of course the H. The first two, a friend moved with his trailer, and the H, I drove home. I never enjoyed transporting a tractor more than I did that time!

Got a little more done. Female lady woman came out in the garage and asked me what I was doing. I told her that I was making a bumper for my Wheel Horse... She rolled her eyes... but then said "that looks pretty good... you just make everything huh?" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Don

Wow, I'm impressed. Now hook it up to a PTO and we can add it to the strange Wheel Horse implement thread along with the ice cream freezers, wood splitters, and chicken plucker.

I have been in a metal working trade my whole life and learned that magnetized things will attract fine steel particles just waiting to embed themselves in your hand.

There were two types of hold downs. The wide strap around the tank and the wire with a spring. Base plate I believe is the same. I have both if you need something. I’ll see if I can find a picture. Best thing to do is remove the grill and then you can clean out everything under and behind tank. Two bolts under the front and then the top two screws holding the long rails on the sides. Watch your feet when doing this. Don’t ask me how I know. 😁

I do enjoy the time with my son, my Dad was my best friend, but he is gone now and I cherish any time I spend with my kids. Plus, he give me two grandkids!!!!! I think he only paid about $150 for it, which is a steal where I live. Randy

Rough is very good for engine fins, gives you more surface area and turbulent air flow. If they were smooth and shiny the laminar air flow would remove less heat because there is less mixing. Too much paint on the fins will also reduce their ability to transfer heat.

So we've hade the place valued, the maths is on our side, so we are going ahead with a move as soon as the house sells. I've got a machinery mover to shift the big lumps I'm going to keep and the rest will go on tool sites priced to sell. It will either happen very quickly or at the pace of a glacier so I'm not stressing either way. I'm even going to scrap some of the projects I had intended to renovate as I won't have the space to store anything.

My new to me P220 i found for a different tractor came to me with an undisclosed cracked starter mount under the cylinder. There are options, i could put on a sump from a B48 onan and use the starter for it, but..good sumps are a bit spendy and a good starter is more money. I opted to at least try to get the block fixed, my neighbor has an aluminum spool gun mig setup and said he'd take a crack at it...i told him, if it fails i still have a way out. The crack was 2 obvious and one hidden roughly 1" long cracks along the inner mount, this allowed the starter to deflect downward away from the ring gear and this had ruined the ring gear. I put on a spare flywheel and noted..about 5% mesh, just the tips of the teeth touched. My neighbor cleaned the Block well, i modified a vice clamp to hold the cracks shut and he tacked them in.after about 1 second of welding he would clean the surface again. The process took about 20 minutes, he ground it down and i finished it off..the gear mesh is much improved now and it cranks as smoothly as any onan I've had. It can be done, and with a wire gun no less https://youtube.com/shorts/2rtQHEBygfY?feature=share

BTW, had a real nice buck come out of the woods I'm hunting in and cross the posted cut corn field at 9AM this morning. I tried to turn him with the grunt call but he kept going. It looked like the same one I saw chase three doe across the field Saturday evening. Think I'll put some scent out. He is certainly on the hunt for a hot doe.

I read this somewhere: When is the best time to plant a tree? Thirty years ago. When is the next best time? Now. As we get older and see that we are not the all-important end of the parade of life, but only a placeholder somewhere in the middle, we begin to recognize the importance of taking the long view.

@RandyLittrell nice looking unit , only a suggestion , aerosol lubricant spray down , let sit / soak in a day , wipe it down till dry with a clean lubricant dampened cloth , let it sit . do that again , next wipe down will show a deeper paint , and an oil soaked finish . like a permanent wax job. think about it , its been sitting in that state for ? very little effort to help its return. have brought pack paint like that to a deep clear finish , the opportunity to do things is there , hope you find a few , pete

Thank you. These were blank shells and I had the centers cut out of 3/8” steel plate. Kinda hefty too. I like the later model color combos 👍

Regarding powersteering on a Wheel Horse (or other small vehicle for that matter) there are electric powersteering units one could use. Some of them have a motor on the steering rack and others on the shaft that leads to the steering rack. Seems easy enough to adapt, even to vehicles without hydraulics. Motor on rack Motor on shaft

This method... With a little help... Worked super slick. Grabbed the heaterator gun. I put a 7/16 wrench on the bottom of the knob and after heat it moved a skosh. Tapped it VERY gently with a small hammah and up it went!
