Thanks! So far it seems that my tastebuds have only been mildly affected. I was disappointed at how my coffee tasted yesterday so I'm sticking with tea for now. The soup tasted great, especially since my wife likes to put lots of garlic in it. When I woke up in the middle of the night with a really bad sore throat, I sipped some bourbon and it tasted wonderful, although it did burn as expected. If I lose my ability to taste coffee, chocolate, or bourbon, I will be most unhappy...

Painted a set of wheels I had and started tearing into the D200. Hopefully what I have planned works. 🤞

Polished the headlights of my GF's car today. Car has to go for yearly inspection/MOT and the headlights were going to be a problem since they were discolored and dull. Tried a diy polishing kit and I'm pretty pleased with the result. Before; yellow and dull After; nice and clean again

That's a stunningly beautiful H, Zeek. It puts mine to shame. I've loved tractors since I was a little kid - a very little kid. I decided I wanted to be a farmer. In high school, I took the vo-tech school's three year agriculture program, and got a part-time job on a dairy farm. While I loved working on the farm, I quickly came to the realization that I made a career-choice blunder. So I moved on and the years went by. A few months before I turned 60, I decided that life was too short and I was going to live my dream - so I bought a 1942 Farmall H.

@WHX?? It is inside and the engine is off, but has been sitting that way for years. I'd like to find someone to weld tabs on new rims in the original fashion so I can move it around. I have new rims and tires for it. Truly restoring it may be beyond my skill set or interest, but we will see. I read that some early models did not have hoods. Unsure if this one ever did. I first drove it in about 1980 as a kid. Has not run in at least 20 years.

Just thought I'd share some pics of my what I assume to be a Senior. I do not believe it is the original engine and as it is stuck, I have bought an AENL for it. Tore it apart 5 years ago but have not touched it since. I ought to get back to it!

It is charcoal metallic Rustoleum. Almost the same as my gt14 wheels. These are painted with PPG Umbra grey metallic (Ford mustang color)

Usual Thursday run over to my mates in Scotland. First job was to get my Santa Fe into his workshop and rear end up on car ramps. That was so we could change the rear propshaft doughnut. It was getting past it's sell by date and a bit stale. Rather like Squonks doughnuts he leaves in the Basement. Took us a couple of hours. Pig of a job and not one I could have done on my own. After lunch we refitted the back body onto his ex-military 101. Followed that with the tilt frame and the new canvas tilt. Everything needs finally fastening down yet but it's starting to look something like it should. Finally loaded the Santa Fe with some bags of logs.

Today is the break between “firearm” and “muzzleloader” which allows any zone-legal firearm anyway. Muzzleloader goes until the 11th, then the 12th through Jan. 1 is late antlerless. I spent a minute and sat on the rock pile where I aspire to build a new hunting blind. There’s a 3’ diameter log on the top of the pile, old enough that I can manipulate the structure with my heel and a stomp. I set myself a little pocket to sit in if I choose to do some ground hunting before the end of season. I can’t see as well over my grass, but it gets me closer to where most action is, and the wind is generally right in my face. Possibly, I can have a kiddo or two come sit with me for a couple mornings or evenings… The rock pile tree is just to the right of this picture. There is a little scrub brush tree on the grass edge, about 60 yards from the rock pile.

Thanks Richie—I think a Christmas present for me for the shed, will be that picture in an 11x14 or so on canvas to hang on the wall. Hoping that we can get a three generation picture with Dad/Grandpa and his 1967 Goat in the background with ours sometime next summer…

Agree - But he might keep the Senior at his place to keep his others company and, you know, just to keep an eye on it...

@Pullstart live in MI and if he's not to far from you he's a great fabricator and could weld those tabs on the rims for you.

The guy who pinstriped “Poppy” for me is working on one of his hot rods. He’s got a cool little shop and turns out a lot of good work! A couple years ago he bought a plasma table and got to work selling decoration stuff and small brackets and tabs until it was paid for. Now, he’s got a free toy to build cool stuff with!

And paint it yellow…

@Snoopy11 I think something like @Evguy posted would be my choice too. @Jeff-C175 's point of advice is solid so you can reach stuff that needs service. I want to add that it might be smart to make the bumper hug the rear of the frame and the back tires so that the risk of snagging something while turning is kept to a minimum. Something like this..

My son bought this C-160 8 speed this summer and never got around to putting pics up. It seems pretty non-molested and has a nice patina, hope I can convince him to keep it original! It can't come in the shop till he gets his CC 784 project off my workbench!! I think he thinks I am gonna do it all for him!! I also needed to put these pics here to prove @ebinmaine hasn't got ALL the C160's out there!!!! Randy

My new to me P220 i found for a different tractor came to me with an undisclosed cracked starter mount under the cylinder. There are options, i could put on a sump from a B48 onan and use the starter for it, but..good sumps are a bit spendy and a good starter is more money. I opted to at least try to get the block fixed, my neighbor has an aluminum spool gun mig setup and said he'd take a crack at it...i told him, if it fails i still have a way out. The crack was 2 obvious and one hidden roughly 1" long cracks along the inner mount, this allowed the starter to deflect downward away from the ring gear and this had ruined the ring gear. I put on a spare flywheel and noted..about 5% mesh, just the tips of the teeth touched. My neighbor cleaned the Block well, i modified a vice clamp to hold the cracks shut and he tacked them in.after about 1 second of welding he would clean the surface again. The process took about 20 minutes, he ground it down and i finished it off..the gear mesh is much improved now and it cranks as smoothly as any onan I've had. Hey guys! So, I had to take Gracie to the vet today (she hurt her front left foot, so she had to get checked out... she sprained her foot and needs 3 weeks rest with anti-inflammatory medication)... Anyway, at the vet's office, they were doing some minor construction. We parked next to the maintenance truck, and when I was walking in the office, I noticed that there was a good bit of scrap metal in the back of the maintenance truck... When I came out of the office, the guy who was doing the construction was out by his truck. I asked him what he was going to do with the metal... and he said that it was going to be scrapped. Being the bold... nut that I am... I asked him if I could have some... He looked at me strangely... and asked, "what for" I told him that I was in the process of making a bumper for my Wheel Horse tractor. He said that he didn't have a clue what a Wheel Horse Tractor was... but said that I could take as much as I wanted. SO... I quickly grabbed these pieces : MOOOOHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Don

Well yes and no.. the main focus is safety, and rightfully so because some people simply lack the skill to even change out a flat tire. Yes it costs money but it's not too bad, somewhere between $25 to about $65 for a complete check up, excluding eventual repairs.

Made some more progress tonight. Assembled the rest of the frame, lined up the doors & mounted the front outside frame posts to the foot rests. Now I can take the doors back off & clean them & the rest of the vinyl. While the vinyl is off it's time for wiring, fabricating a control panel for the electric chute control, caution strobe, led's & rock lights.

I meet Jay in June at the 2022 Big Show. He just walked up, introduced himself and his wife, and sat down and talked with Libby and me like he had known us for years/ thank you Redsquare… We had supper with him and his wife at the fairgrounds that afternoon. Till we meet again, Horse Newbie/ Tim

I made the mistake of going in the hardware store today to look for paint stuff. Found these sandpaper sponges which do fit between the fins on an air cooled Kohler. Figured they'd be right handy at cleaning up for painting.

Well, the engine laid down after 45 minutes of mowing, seller didnt disclose the engine had a loose valve seat and the block was ruined, so...10 months later i tracked down a used correct 1- 7/16" pto engine and after welding up the broken starter mounts...it purrs. Still have to yank it back out and replace the governor spider..but at last it lives

My 420 is tucked in there. Mine is far from perfect but one of my favorite machine to cruise on.

I think we can all agree on that!

I'd say a mussel hit, the arrow tells you everything. Probably fat and some very red blood. If the blood was bright red and very little clotting in the bed, I think he's good, working scraps is a good sign he will survive.

That's one o' them "high ground clearance" models !!

Never knew a check valve, or whether or not to install one could be so complicated and confusing… @John c, try a check valve, and/or a primer bulb… let us know if it helps…

thanks folks, I was really annoyed and concerned it would be a real issue to try to deal with. the tractor has had a flat for a month and I finally got it fixed and was going to haul some fire wood out of the woods with it and didn't make it very far . Maby next week!

I like that Ed Dog ... well maybe not the wind towers in my view but I get it. Thing here is is more about tradition than actually hunting. Sitting in camp playing cards ... sipping ... old friends... new friends ... educating rookies... mice crawling uo yer arm when sleeping... it's really much more than hunting. Bagging a nice buck is just an excuse for us all to get together. If I had to explain you wouldn't understand.

I think all will agree, the slow start problem came when the fuel tanks were relocated under the seat. Primer bulbs ended all my slow start problems. Could the answer be one of the three rules of plumbing ? 1. Don't chew your fingernails 2. S@#t doesn't run uphill 3. Payday is on Friday.

I've had these top 2 red boxes for 2 or 3 decades. A few weeks ago I bought the bottom black one. Now we can roll the tools around to wherever we need them. As a side bonus I've cleared out a little workbench space where the red boxes used to sit. The bottom drawer of the red box has been broken for longer than I recall. I may have even bought it that way. You can see the scratches on the lip of the box below the drawer. It shouldn't ever drop to touch there. There was a crease where the yellow dot is too. Those are slide type drawers with no bearings. Turns out the slide carriers were badly folded, as you can imagine. I got the bottom red drawer out. Looked at the good drawer holders to see how they're supposed to be shaped. Bent some stuff around. Put it back in and lubed all the drawers. @peter lena would be proud. MUCH better.
