This has happened to me when the chain adjustment was too tight, take a turn or 2 off the chain and see if that helps?

Snug up the bolts holding your quick latches so gravity doesn't cause them to droop to the closed position. That way they'll stay out of the way (open) while you lift your plow into position, and then give them a quick push to lock the crossbar in place and install your safety clips!

Added two more rings to my humble wood storage since I got a good load of firewood last friday Two rings added, just bolted together. Nice load of wood (oak). Took me 1.5 hours to unload. Got me sweatin'

A doe and a spike buck this AM. The doe offered a 30YD head shot, so she is in the fridge. Saw 9 deer this afternoon. One decent 8 point chasing three doe. Never offered a shot. Maybe tomorrow. More shooting than I ever heard on the first day of rifle. I wonder if the price of meat will affect the deer kill.

Finally replaced the rubber tarp strap with a proper battery hold down on the 310, I am not sure how it was originally, but think this will work. You guys with your reading glasses on will notice the need for new battery cables, they will be fixed later in the week!!

Slip off the plastic grip handle and squirt in some 90w gear lube...or any oil for that matter. No doubt, there is some rust in there that precludes mechanism from workng right. .

We even found a use for Wheel Horse bourbon! Smoked a pecan pie for about 90 minutes at 250 degrees. It rocked!

I never had much interest in the little 8. Last year I had the opportunity to get a bucket, something I always wanted. The bucket was attached to a little 8. The price was right, been sitting for a year or so. Clean the points, charged the battery, first crank, off and running. Did a complete service and the little 8 has, what a good friend, ( rest in piece Lester my friend ) referred too as" LITTLE GUY, S DISEASE" he's not good looking and don't have the big single's thumb, but don't let that fool you, little big man gets the job done. Now, my bride calls him LITTLE BIG BROTHER. I call him PEDY. "See me later Lester" Darb

Me n BBT and our friend had a GREAT day hiking across the street from the house today. We visited the drover's road again. Followed it downhill a bit to its end. At that point we found the first of four old cellar holes. That area was a small cluster of houses back in late 1700s, early to mid 1800s. I detached the 2 stage from my grandfathers old 1848. I haven’t had time to figure out the no start issue with it. I reattached it to the bronco 14 which happens to be the same grandfathers. I think I’ve got it all hooked up right minus a couple springs and the belt. Of course the bronco14 ran out of gas right there and when I went to look for the gas can the boys had used all my gas in the 4 wheeler and never told me. yes that’s another 2 stage in the background sticking up to the left of the chute. That’s a ber-vac. I bought it for 50 bucks and it works great. This is the first year of having a wheel horse 2 stage and I figured I’d give this one a try and see how it does compared to the other.

Never had one apart but i just oiled the crap out of it and worked it repeatedly and it freed up and worked as it should. I would also play with the adjuster knob and maybe go up or down a link on the chain...? Might be in the adjustment...

I had the same happen on a 312-8. Turns out that the C-clip and bushing were missing from the rock shaft, allowing it to move enough that the up position would drop. Everything else was just fine.

I spent a couple of hours wandering through our woods. Got into some spots I have not been in before. Pictures: Images ordered panorama style, left to right. This is an area that my wife suggested I check out as a possible house site. The edge of the hill drops down maybe 15 feet to an intermittent stream. What do y'all think about the location? I'm going to have to get my GPS unit there to see where that spot falls on the property. We have 2 adjacent lots. The lot line is somewhere in that area. Might have to combine the two lots into one, or move the lot line somehow. Both should be possible, since we own both lots.

Well I loaded up the transmission and carried it over to my good friend Shawn's shop to get the other hub off and crack into it. We were successful in both. I could not believe how stuck that hub was. But Kroil and heat prevailed. Erick I cant tell you how helpful your videos were. We had the case cracked is less than a minute with the wood chisels. Shawn also refaced the input pully with a side grinder and finished it with a pad on his die grinder. I could never do that by hand as he did. He's a licensed aircraft mechanic that worked with me a few years back. Super good guy: great friend. Sorry to disappoint anyone but when we finish the repair he'll have so many hours in it that he gets the WH if I die before he does; done told the wife. He's one of my few friends that understands how well made it is and appreciates it.

Just shut it off at the meter. If you notice a little smell around that valve after opening it call the gas Co. and they can regrease it with a special tool they have. All in a days work for them. Do install a gas cock before the appliance. Personally I would worry about your ventless appliance. There is no such thing as ventless... burning anything always produces carbon monoxide.

I always liked climbing poles' big highline poles are easier usually cedar, more wood to climb on and softer. Nothing better being on a 75 or 80 foot cedar pole in nice weather with good ground help under you. Biggest high line pole I have been on is a 120 foot cedar, they are like climbing a barn door, can't get a grip on them. I always used a 6 and 1/2 foot safety, but for these I used a length of 1/2 in rope to get high enough so that my safety would go around it. Bob

My experience and speaking with others shows old chains are much better made. The diamond pattern chain is a standard up here in logging country. They don't move around as much as a standard cross chain. The grip is better in different directions. Also, the ride is smoother.

You'll really like that 854 once you give it some TLC. A deck and plow gives you 4 season usage. It's a fun, agile and strong for a small tractor.

Same issue... lubed the innards up and spring worked like a charm...

@daveoman1966 that entire set up is often neglected ,( frequently refer to make the rust run out ), agree with you on the lubrication , another vital part of that is the cross chassis width end bushings related linkage points . every time I see a reference to the belt drive idler pulley , the end shaft bushing area for that lift arm is right there , bone dry . regularly , touch up my movement spots , pete

I did gloss white on both my Wheel Horses… I just like gloss white more on tractors. But if it was a Deere I would do the yellow

@ebinmaine, nice job on the video and we will nominate BBT for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Cinematography. When I am opening a transmission I always start at the hitch pin casting because there is no gasket in there and the wider gap is a bit easier to get the chisel started.

On s vintage patina tractor Rust-Oleum almond color looks great. Just a bit more tan than most of the original wheels you see but it's a close match to one set I got on a C 141. forpc.onl minecraft pocket edition pc

Been spending time moving things around today. The gray portable garage is out of the front lawn and over behind the new shop building. We used Trina's 867 Pigpen to pull my non running Ariens S16H across the yard to its new house. Pigpen is now setting comfortably in the newly relocated tarp garage.

Found an old pair of diamond chains with V bars that seem to fit the rears pretty well. Gotta get a pair of chains for the front.

It seems to be making sense as I have way too much machinery for one guy to use. Selling it will raise a good few beer tokens. The plan is changing slightly. Sandras dad lives 1/4 mile from us in a lovely modern bungalow. His son owns it and has no plans for it when dad passes, other than just sell it to release some cash. So, here's the suggestion. We sell our house, getting shut of a lot of rammel (good old English word for accumulated clutter, also Kelterment which is a Sheffield word fir the same). We buy dads house from his son, sandras brother obviously, and move in with dad. He gets on site carers, company now he's on his own, home cooked meals and security till he passes. We get a great deal on the property price (BIL has dropped any valuation by 30 grand to make things easier) and simplify our lives and especially disposal of my stuff while I can still enjoy the money it generates. So we are off and running then. I've even measured up to fit Fred in as a priority lol.

It's not hard to install a shut-off at the heater. Do you have black iron pipe or flexible stainless steel?

I actually tried that myself. It did help a little, but the rod still pops out of the detent from time to time. Probably a combination of worn parts.

Would love to throw it together but something inside won’t let me. I can’t help making a project out of it. I could go custom and same some time. Maybe something like this...
