11 pointsJust Edog and Mrs K here today. We are having some left over chipped venison gravy over baked spuds. Baking apple, pumpkin, pecan pies and making my maple syrup sweet taters to take to son Marks tomorrow. We found Black Friday is the only day we can get the entire clan of 24 together. Mark will be smoking two turkeys. My 97yo MIL will be bringing her killer oyster stuffing that is our traditional dish at all holiday dinners. Best Wishes to All .......Have a great Holiday with some Quality Family Time. Almost ready for tomorrows Black Friday Thanksgiving. Sweet potatoes are baked Gingerbread cake with lemon curd filling Apple pie Sho Fly Pie Opted for the Sho Fly instead of the Pecan due to one guest with a nut allergy. Cranberry Apple Sauce We'll make the two Pumpkin Pies tomorrow AM.

10 pointsWe have always had the traditional 18 to 20 pound turkey. However, we have noticed that with our family, dark meat is not as popular as white, so this year I am cooking two 6.5 pound turkey breasts in the Instant Pot. 35 minutes to cook, 20 minutes to pressure release, and it's done. Downright best, most moist turkey I have ever had.

9 pointsWhile it is wonderful to read about what meats everyone is preparing for this day of Thanksgiving (we’re having roasted turkey and ham), I would be grateful to have anything on the table. I can truly say that even amongst the face-stuffing, laughter, commotion, and conversation, I will reflect on what it means to be blessed enough to even be able to celebrate the day, and give thanks to a loving God for what he provides. What a most valuable blessing we were bestowed when God placed us on this land, in this country, and I hope that all who reads this agrees… So enjoy your turkey you turkey’s… and have a great and grateful Thanksgiving !

9 pointsTurkey day will be a little subdued this year, just me and the wife and a couple single close friends. So a turkey we be overkill for the group that will gather. So the little lady decided a large roaster chicken would do. Which is fine by me, a person can only eat so much left over turkey.

8 pointsIn the past we have usually done around a 20 lb. turkey. But not this year. Daughter moved out, so it's just me, the wife, and 17 year old son. Not doing Thanksgiving today, daughter's boyfriend's mother (nurse) has to work tomorrow so our daughter is having Thanksgiving with their family today and we're having them all over tomorrow. Daughter, her boyfriend, his sister (both long time family friends) and another friend their age. We decided to go the easy route and ordered a prepared Thanksgiving meal from a local French restaurant. I'm sure it will be good, and a lot less work. The kids and us will be making some desserts and laying out a bunch of cheese, crackers, and fresh fruit as appetizers. Mostly looking forward to the time together, good food is secondary (but still important!) Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving day!

8 pointsWell, not quite Thanksgiving, but the night before, on November 25, 2009, I was sitting at my desktop computer looking for a plastic dash panel for my 1977 B-100. It was my intention to begin acquiring parts to do a complete restoration over the winter. Well as luck would have it, I discovered RedSquare Wheel Horse forum. I joined, ask a question about where to find my dash, and as the old saying goes, the rest is history. Here I sit, tonight, the night before Thanksgiving 13 years later, reminiscing about all the information that I have received over those 13 years, and realizing how thankful that I am to have found this group. I am truly blessed. I am not a man of many friends (by my choice), but those whom I have met through this forum and at Wheel Horse shows are among the best and truest friends a guy could have. 7 pointsJust thought I would post a couple of picks of the B-80 winter plow tractor at work with my new 7.5 cu cart. Nice little cart. If you have cottonwoods trees you know there a pain to keep up with. Constant pick up twigs or small branches all season pretty much. I hope you enjoy the picks.

6 pointsPut the turkey on rebar spit, use a bundt pan under for drippings, put foil under, place can over, charcoal on top and around edge, keep adding charcoal as needed, about 2 hours and she's ready. It's hot here today though about 82. sweating a little setting this up!

6 pointsI love smoked chicken! It is about the best way to keep that meat moist in my experience. We had a good sized gift card from our farmer to the local Turkey farm, so it was only fitting to get a good one. Nearly 26 lbs! It’s stuffed with onions, butter and apples. I checked it a minute ago, it’s looking mighty fine already!

5 pointsHappy Thanksgiving from our woods in Kentucky. Charcoal column turkey. Overall picture: Looking down into the guts of the setup: #10 tins with chicken wire tubes. Heavy duty foil reflectors wrapped around your choice of stakes - I used fence posts this year. Light the charcoal off, season the bird (I used salt, pepper, sage, thyme, savory, and butter, stuffed cavity with onion & lemon), double bag in oven bags and hang in the center. Use extra space for sides. The Dutch oven in the picture has the stuffing, we added another Dutch oven with a stuffed squash a little later, then later yet a pan of beets, and a pan of mashed potatoes. On the propane camp stove, my son made some cranberry jelly (fresh cranberries, sugar, and water cooked until proper consistency), gravy, and green beans. Homemade biscuits. Pies for dessert. Fryer is heated up now... waiting on the female lady women to do their injection and seasoning magic!!! 5 pointsThe answer to this is a vacuum sealer. Vacuum seal your left overs in meal size portions, ( I usually do about 14-16oz to a bag for 2 people) then throw them in the freezer. When you need a quick meal pull a bag out of the freezer, throw it in a pot full of cold water, bring the water to a boil, boil for 10 to 15 minutes, cut the bag open dump it on your plate & eat. Will taste just like it did the day you first made it. We do this with a lot of left over roasted or smoked meats.

5 pointsThere was a LOT more than wild turkey 🦃 back in the mid 1600s in the "Plimouth" bay area. Being a coastal area it's far more likely the tradition started with a water bird. Tell your kid to enjoy the meal no matter what it is.

4 pointsI had to repair a punctured tire/tube that was liquid filled. I put a clean trash bag in my shop trash can, put some vise grips on the valve stem so it wouldn't go inside the tire, removed the valve and put the tire/wheel on top of the trash can to drain. Next morning there was hardly any fluid in the tube and I was able to break the beads, pull enough of the tube out to repair the puncture. Put the tube back inside and pumped the fluid back in with no problem.

4 pointsI read your mind. No, the unistrut failed as you knew would happen. I've never done this before. I just finished beefing up the puller and came in to find you prophesy. Again I'm glad that I hoard metal. On the revised puller the metal behind the T-bar wasn't hard to drill at all. But that 4x4 square tube is some hard stuff as it should be. I'm beginning to think that maybe this isn't the second seal gone bad. I thought that he beat up the hub and heated it putting a new seal in that went bad. Now I wonder if he gave up with his first attempt and decided to sell it. I can see that being the case. I'm short one 5/8" nut to be ready to use it.
